It isn't bad, it just kind of turns the game into grinding for resources. It used to be a part of the technic pack until they removed due to preformance issues
With the introduction of Villager trading in the game, I was thinking it would be cool if there was a mod that added in NPC Cities. Not only are there villages, but there could be randomly generated stables and castles and other medieval structures and things. It could add in knights and other random NPCs like bandits and other things. Yeah I know there are NPC mods like that already, but when I think of this, I think it would fit ideal in the new adventure mode, and the player has no control over what the NPCs hold and stuff like that. This mod would also make it to where you have to trade and make a lot of money before being allowed in the large cities and castles. Then, you could work your way up as a merchant, or as a sellsword. An assassin, or a beast slayer (the mod could add dragons and other beasts.) Once you get enough money, you could buy the city or buy a "permit" to build a city or castle. With your money you could buy knights, sellswords, butchers, miners, bankers, and allow traders in your city to sell goods. Pretty much the sequence would go.
Start in the new world ----> Find a village -----> Do quests or trade to get emeralds and goods ------> Get enough money to get into the big city. ------> Do more quests (harder ones) and trade to make your way up and become the richest man/ woman in the city. ------> Buy sellswords and archers to either take over the city, or help the lord of the city attack another city and take it over for yourself, or buy land to build a new city/castle. ------> Run the city. (Forced to keep a budget and not run out of money. Make decsions that could either help moral of the citizens or make them angry and attempt to over throw you.)
Kinda thinking along the lines of a Game Of Thrones-esque world/adventure type mod.
The mod you just described exists. Ever hear of millenaire?
Because they are looking for the instant gratification that pastries can provide. Those helping out do so because they enjoy helping others or want to stockpile good karma, and they don't crave the instant gratification that the update beggars need.
Hi, so this is the first time I am updating my mod since I moved to ModLoader. And because my mod used both classes using modloader's methods and core classes I want to ask, how do I update my mod to 1.3.1 (like my mod_*** and my entity classes I've made, etc) Do I just test using the same exact classes first? Or do I need to recode my mod completely?
well first off you need to wait for the 1.3.1 release of modloader to be released then you can update your mod
Here is the Second of my Technic Let's play videos. This video introduces the basics of the Equivalent Exchange mod. In this series i will be demonstrating how to get a base set up and a good order in which you should play through the mods in technic. I will also be covering topics specific to each mod (example how to set up a nuclear reactor from Industrialcraft 2.0). I would also like some constructive feedback on the video series.
