-- We have made it into Minecraft 1.7! --
My main goal with this post was to make the community interested in more biomes so that Mojang would prioritise that aspect in their busy schedules. And it seems we have finally made it happen! Additionally we also got 2 of my suggestions into the game, which of course is fantastic.
---------------------------------
Blossom Grove
Now put down your guard and enjoy the moonlight in this mob free but oh so rare environment. Unfortunately, the underground isn't as peaceful. If you are lucky you will also encounter a deserted old vineyard for some delicious grapes. This rare fruit replenish only 0,5 hunger each, but they are all eaten at the same time, making it the quickest but most expensive food source.
Rumours say the farmers have noticed crops grow faster.
Old version:
Oasis
Take your horse and embark on a journey to discover the Orient. These warm and barren deserts might contain a scarce amount of watering wholes, a common place to find various merchants with donkeys full of goods to trade. Make sure to have your wallet full, for these rare goods cannot be acquired elsewhere.
Fungi Biome
The luminescent mushrooms proves to be a perfect, yet mystique light source in the deep caves of the underworld. Rumours speak about small glowing angler-fishes that thrive in nearby underground lakes.
Thanks to Hansentale for the inspiration.
Tropical Islands
Palm trees grow on the beaches of these plant rich atoll islands located on the great oceans. Breaking palm leaves spawn coco nuts, which are an essential food source out here.
Savannah - IMPLEMENTED IN 1.7
In the never ending terrain of the African wilderness, animals thrive in the shadows of the acacia trees. Clay is commonly found in nearby watering holes.
Wild West desert - IMPLEMENTED IN 1.7
This arid landscape consists of a new reddish stone, and a new matching sandblock*. Lone wanderers need to watch out for the vultures, for they will attack any trespasser carrying raw meet.
*)The sandblock is not present in this screenshot since it's very time consuming covering the grounds.
Autumn forest biome
A colourful forest arises as you continue your exploration. No one in these woods will ever starve, as the ripest apples fall from the trees and the ground is covered by mushrooms galore!
Frost biome
A cold breeze caught the landscape by surprise, which immediately froze the tiniest straw of grass. Make sure you wear some armour, or you will soon be history.
Darklands
The sky darkens as you enter this gloomy realm. A great challenge awaits the one who seek to face the death. Now grab your diamond equipment, you will need it.

ArianaAnora posted a message on Small SuggestionsFOOD AND FARMING ANIMALS:Posted in: Suggestions
For farming animals, if fed foods other than wheat, such as apples, they drop food that has slightly better health/food fill value, OR they can drop more food (or a chance of either happening works too).
But, this would work with restrictions - such as 5 apples makes a pig drop one more porkchop and guarantees at least one porkcop will fall from a pig, 7-9 apples guarantees 1-3 more streak and/OR leather from a cow, and 2 apples for sheep adds a wool for 1-3 more shearings OR causes sheep to drop wool + 1 piece of sheep meat OR one extrea piece of meat (or a chance of any one of the three happening) [I saw mutton was pending, so I guess the sheep meat suggestions are only valid if mutton (meat from adults) comes into play]. -

So, I was thinking, you know how we have villagers with villages, and their mineshafts? Well, what if we included a whole new race? The dwarves. They would have spawned in fortresses underground, made of cobblestone, stone bricks, and glowstone. Like the iron golems, they would kill evil mobs if they were closest to them. This would add battleaxes to the game. Each dwarf would have an iron battleaxe that they would carry around with them. Also, you would have the ability to trade with the dwarves. For example, you could throw a diamond to the nearest dwarf, and he would give you something equal in value. Example, he could give you a halfstack of glowstone for that diamond. How do you find these underground forts? Well, you would have go look for a small wooden cottage in any biome. It would be made out of the logs that are in that biome. (If in plains or desert, just wooden planks.) Inside this cottage would contain one dwarf. There is an IRON TRAPDOOR (new block) that would require a key. You will need to give the dwarf something of his liking, for he has the key. (The item you will need to give him will vary.) When you give him the item that he likes, he will give you they key. Right click the IRON TRAPDOOR with the key in your hand, and it will open. There will be a ladder leading down to the fortress, which would be the only entrance, due to it being surrounded by bedrock, to prevent break-ins. This fortress would have two sections: Mines, and barracks.
That's all I have for now guys! I think this would be a great addition to minecraft. Let me know how you like it!

PieGuy1209 posted a message on Small SuggestionsDeath animationPosted in: Suggestions
ex: when killed by an arrow, your character tries to pull it out, but fails and falls backwards to the ground and then you see the death screen.
another ex: when killed from fall damage, your character lands on his/her feet, but then starts falling forward, and then you see the death screen.
You can skip the death animation by pressing something like escape or space bar, or you can just turn them off via options, to reduce lag.
Shadows
Yes, there are already shadows cast by most entities, but they are just dark circles right under them regardless of the direction of the light source.
There could be a button in the options menu where you can choose Classic Shadows, where its just the boring circle, or Dynamic Shadows, where shadows correspond to a light source.
Better mob behavior
As of now, mobs will sometimes just walk into a cactus, some lava, etc. Why not make them smarter and actually avoid obstacles? Maybe they can try to run away from a player that hurts it or another within some certain block range, like the radius being 16. Oh, and don't get me started about wolves.
Better generated structure properties
The abandoned mine shafts. The ravines. When a mine shaft cuts through a ravine or any other cave structure, the mine shaft should at least have a floor. Villages. The world generation code should make villages only placed in flat places where there are no huge drops in the direct middle of a village.
Creepers
This time, creepers live up to their name. They should do whatever they can to hide from a player's FOV (Field Of View). When the creeper is out of a player's FOV, it starts to follow the player. When they get close enough, the usual happens, but with more creepy.
That's basically all I have. If you can, show this to Notch or anyone else in mojang. -

MCFUser724292 posted a message on What i would love to see in Minecraft. So this is my first post and i thought i would share my ideas. I thought about these ideas a lot and i want to see what you all think of it.Posted in: Suggestions

NaughtyKnight010 posted a message on Incentive for writable books feature.I've been playing minecraft for a long time, and while there are books and bookshelves there isn't a writing function in books. I'd imagine it'd be as easy as implementing something similar to a sign's system but I wouldn't know. I'm Jake Arredondo, the author of Nightmare Syndrome. If Notch were to implement writing in books I'd transfer my entire 107338 word book in to Minecraft form. It would take me a long time but it would be fun and make my server famous. I could also transfer Nightmare Syndrome's predessesors and sequels among my other books. I somehow doubt notch would look to this suggestion and implement it just because of me but we never know.Posted in: Suggestions -

apigwithabat posted a message on Ideas for 1.3 or 1.4I think they should implement horses. It would be a new way of transportation and would make the game a lot more interesting. You could tame the horse by giving it apples and could ride it by putting a saddle on it (making more use of the saddle). It would be controlable.Posted in: Suggestions
The next thing they could add could be a parachute. It could be made with wool and string. 3 wool horizontal on the top and 4 string, 2 going vertical on each sides. You could jump off of large mountains and or any other large structure and survive.
The last thing I think they should add are spears. You could craft the spear by putting 2 sticks diagonally and one iron on the end. You could engage targets from a longer distance and you could throw them.
Tell me what you guys think about this! -

Dragontamerx posted a message on Crafting ideasI already thought of battle axe, and that idea doesn't sell very well, apparently. And the way you craft it looks derpy.Posted in: Suggestions
cell phone ruins the medieval theme of minecraft. Therefore, c-4 is also a bad idea because of no way to activate.
redstone block? eh, maybe. could be coolish. But it is permanently generating electricity and is about as bright as a torch. And it can be used to store redstone (like all mineral blocks.))
button. not butten. butten sounds like a group of ox made out of cow butt.(don't ask why I came up with that analogy. just. don't.)
you missed gold with the battle axe. -

Allows players to build a 2 diamond block high spawner.
This gives us the ability to create one somewhere safe in case we die and have to spawn
somewhere far far away.

The console is just too damn weak, it's ancient technology.
It's a shame for the newcomers who are playing MC for the first time on Xbox, they have no idea what they're missing out on.
