Not even empty boxes. Glass walls, brick floors, little pedestal, no chest on top of it.
That sounds like a 1.8 bug. Vechz experienced the issue himself when he played Sunburn Islands with Aureylian. They were playing on one of the 1.8 snapshots at the time.
The way you "win" a dungeon is by getting into the wool box and then escaping without losing your items. The main purpose of the wool is for verification that you have done this and for keeping track of what areas you have conquered. If you get the bug that despawns the wool chests, just enter the wool box like normal and then escape without dieing and keep note that there are 16 in total. You still get practically the same gameplay by doing this.
If you really want the wool that would have been there, you can open a fresh copy of the map with McEdit and have a look, but that has a major spoiler risk. No good way of getting the wool chests back without restarting the map in a different version of Minecraft, or risking lots of spoilers AFAIK
Thank's for the mirrors. I tested out Inferno Mines but it seems to spawn me in some void and the server ends up crashing after 10 seconds.
I've had that issue before. Inferno mines is broken in 1.7 (and I'd assume 1.8 as well), so you're going to have to use 1.5 or 1.6 for that one.

As for my playthrough of Legendary, I'm about halfway through and I'm finding it to be harder than the previous maps I've played. I'll get more details posted once I finish the map.
Screenshot of progress:
Edit (since I don't want to double post) :
[possible spoilers ahead]
I just finished Legendary. 2nd half went way faster than the first half. I died 5 times in this map. The first 2 deaths were from getting shot by skeletons at the start before I got any weapons. 3rd death came from attempting to do Pain Water without turning everything into obsidian. My 4th death happened when a creeper blew up right next to me under Castle Invidia. I had full health too and lost my 1st diamond sword . My 5th and final death happened in the Swamp of Despair. A cave spider knocked me down to half a heart and then a skeleton shot me before I could build a cry box.
Also, I came really close to blowing up the pink wool: I accidentally set off a creeper next to the wool box and then I barely managed to grab the wool off the ground moments before a second creeper blew up.
Overall, the the map was alright. The ending was a bit boring though because it kinda forces you to bridge a whole lot and you don't get much use out of the diamonds.
My favorite part of the map was Intersection 1.
Also, on the small chance you happen to read this, Vechs, you have GOT to add killer bunny spawners to Fluffy Bunnies of Joy. If nothing else, at least do that
I've started doing a (re)playthrough of the maps available from the mirror in MC 1.5.2 and I've been having a good time. Here are my death stats so far:
Sea of Flame II: Completed with 0 deaths
Infernal Sky II: Completed, 1 death by jumping into an airship full of mobs, stuff was lost.
Kaizo Caverns: Completed, 1 death by being knocked into my own lava and then burning to death after I got out, stuff was recovered.
Legendary: Will be starting soon...
So far, I've not been finding these maps too hard, but then again, this isn't my first playthrough of them. I'll post again later as I complete more of the maps.
When I was playing, everything was spawning just fine, except for squids. Nothing I did seemed to get them to spawn, even leaving, selecting a different branch, and coming back.
Eventually, I got a little cheaty and forced a squid to spawn, though I probably could have just used the freebie wool.
For people having trouble downloading maps, here's a link to mirror downloads of the most recent versions of all the main Super Hostile maps (1, 3, 4, 7-12, 14) that was buried in the first post. It doesn't have all the maps, but it does have most of them.
Edit: Legendary and Waking Up are not at the most recent version in the mirror. Legendary is at 3.0 instead of 3.1 and Waking Up is at 3.6.4 instead of 3.6.5. The rest of the maps are currently up to date.
Not a bug in 1.8.3, I've had those reports before. I am not entirely sure why it's happening. But you should be able to leave the Branch and return and the gamerule should be set again.
Leaving and coming back didn't fix it. I went and completed a separate branch and came back, but still no sign of squids.
I read on the wiki I can also get ink sacs by fishing, but it looks like a 1/1000 chance with a regular fishing rod
Update: Just finished the map for the first time. Apart from the missing squids, the whole thing was great
My favorite branch would be the puzzle branch because
of that part at the end where I'm suddenly playing Portal in Minecraft
I've been playing this map in 1.8.3 and there seems to be a bug in the survival section that
prevents squids from spawning, making it so I can't get ink sacs to craft the black stained glass I've gone and loaded up the map in McEdit to be sure I'm not just blind and the oceans clearly have no mobs in them. Would it be cheating if I were to spawn in a squid spawn egg so I can continue? I've got everything else, so this is all I need to get the brown wool.
Great map by the way. I love what's been done with the command blocks
It's still a work in progress, but I think it looks good so far. It was made on a multiplayer server so I did have a little help with the digging and the placing of certain moderator-only blocks, but the rest was all done by me. Here are some pictures:
Let me know what you think. If/when I finish this, I plan to make a video of it.
So I got bored and I decided to make something cool and I ended up with this build. I'm not sure if I'm totally done, but the main part of it is finished. Let me know what you think.

This sounds like it could be fun.
I've got 4 new episodes to add. I've taken MrNewGuy's advice and downloaded the program to help with the quality. I've also purchased a new mic, but it will take time to ship and I won't have it for a few more days. Anyway, here are the new episodes:
Youtube is tough. I have the same problem, it's tough to get views. Just go out and promote yourself by commenting, adding friends. Just leave your name out there somehow, like I'm doing now . It'll be slow and painful, but as long as you have fun and enjoy it, it'll grow by itself
Thanks for the advice
Also, episodes 3 and 4 have been uploaded.
