150$ and you might not be able, they might have soldered it into the mobo.
LOL what? Since when has AMD started soldering their desktop processors to their motherboards?
And @endeaver_craft: Bulldozer includes all the newest AMD chips right now. If you want to get rid of bulldozer, then your going to have to get an Intel processor and motherboard. The sandy bridge intel chips are noticably faster clock-for-clock.
Total is $960 and shipping was $20 and change. Tax is dependent on where you live. Spend anything left over on whatever cooling you might want or a cd/dvd drive if you don't have a spare lying around.
I don't think it'll run. I couldn't get it to work well at all on my i5 430M with Intel HD graphics. Hell, it barely runs on my i5 2500k without a graphics card...
I got Oblivion to run okay on my 2 GHz T7300 core2 duo laptop on low graphic settings. It wasn't pretty, but it played. His computer should handle it on low-medium graphics. It still probably won't be particularly pretty, but it will be playable.

LOL. I gues a lot of people know that TMI usually updates pretty quickly. I'm sure it will be done before the end of the weekend, but there will be plenty of people checking here until it is.
i5-2500k all the way. Cycle for cycle it is faster. It is also a quad-core. The i7 really only just adds hyper-threading to the quad core, which is unnecessary in most applications. Phenoms are okay for super budget builds, but and i5 will outperform it.
I found C++ more difficult than Java. And I started with C. Java is a good all-around language to start with. It can work on the web. It can work on your computer. It can work on your phone. And there are a lot of libraries available to use. Of course, that means that there is also a lot to wade through while figuring out what you actually want to do.
Xeon covers a wide range of processors. I just acquired an older server with dual single-core 3.0 GHz Xeon processors. Also, Xenons are specialized and not meant for gaming. Where were these compared? Link?
I'm trying to install red power into a server but when I place all the files for forge, modloadermp ect and run the server it says the mine craft server is corrupt. How do I fix it? there aren't any bukkit plugins for the mods.
Try installing one step at a time. First do ModloaderMP and test that it works. Then do MinecraftForge and test that it works, then do the RedPower stuff.
And ignore those other people here that don't understand that bukkut plugins are not the only server mods available.
Those two together are only about $30 more than your current setup. And if you want to spend about $20 more on top of that, you could get a new z68 board and overclock that i2500k.
As of 1.9, animals don't automatically spawn in grassy areas when it is light. Now, animals are generated at chunk creation and are persistent. If you kill them, they are gone. You'll need to breed animals to get more.
Zombe's mod pack. It has several different configurable mods for you. Want more info about your world? There's a mod for that. Want to fly? There's a mod for that. What saplings to have the ability to auto-plant and reforest the world? There's a mod for that. Want a cheater mode, a way to see a trail of where you came from, a way to see where mobs can spawn, or the ability to move the sun forward or backward in time? All possible and customizable with Zombe.

Also, I would personally change to an i5 setup with something like:
motherboard - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813157233
processor - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819115072

And this:

which all comes to $710 at the moment. By the time you add in tax and shipping, you'll probably be in the neighborhood of $800.
