Aug 15, 2014Devinske posted a message on New EULA Now in Effect! It's called budgeting, you can still do these items you just need to do something which is called a budget. A lot of servers actually know how to budget, some don't care to budget and just overprice their items. Does this make any more sense to you?Posted in: News

Aug 5, 2014Devinske posted a message on New EULA Now in Effect!I just thought of another thing:Posted in: News
Wouldn't Mojang solve their problem if they put a price ceiling on gameplay affecting items? After all, this EULA was brought back up because people were selling virtual items illegally, but most were doing it at a fair price, and a couple rotten apples were jacking prices. And then Mojang got complaints because of children stealing credit cards to buy the $100 sword which really doesn't do them much good. But Mojang doesn't need to deal with these complaints because it's a server problem, and not theirs. Plus, they already had the EULA in place, so a lawsuit wouldn't do much good. Mojang is actually letting off on the EULA by letting cosemetics, you guys should feel rewarded. The reason why most of you are getting worked up is because most of you were used to the idea of pay-to-win. But if you'd actually would do your research on this, you'd find out that this was here all along, and it's actually getting worked so you can get money to pay for hosts.
Here's some simple suggestions of what Mojang can do:
1. Set some price ceilings on weapons | enchantments | TNT Access
2. Require server owners to have a verification of age when donating
3. Make sure that all owners are complying with tax laws
4. Propose some ideas that don't affect gameplay, and something people would actually buy, such as:
- I. In game:
- a. Nicks
- b. Chat Colors
- c. Custom Prefixes / Suffixes
- d. Broadcasting
- e. Advertisements
- f. Cosemetic Blocks (6-Sided Stone Slab, Mushroom Stems, Mushroom Heads, etc.)
- g. Horse coloration customizer
- II. In real life (These will really need to be checked with tax regulations):
- a. Branded T-Shirts
- b. Branded Mugs
- c. Posters
- d. Stickers
- e. Dog Collars
- f. Vinyls (Don't know how you spell that)
- III. Out of game
- a. Steam Games
- b. Skype calls with Staff
- c. Site Ranks
- d. Adding a private topic to the forum which is dedicated to the person who donated, not just all donators, and also allow others to view it at their pleasure, just not add to the topic.
5. Take a week or so to double-check that you aren't slacking in stuff you already did, before you continue to create more stuff
Thank you for taking the time to read my suggestions and I hope you learned something from it. -

Jun 18, 2014Devinske posted a message on EULA Revisited: an Updated Q&A From MojangAnyone get the idea that maybe people will just use Minecraft Realms to still be pay-to-win?Posted in: News
Also, wouldn't it technically be equal to have like "Double XP" for donators and so on PvP servers, but if you are not a donator but kill a Donator with Double XP so you get Triple XP for the round? -
Jun 17, 2014Devinske posted a message on EULA Revisited: an Updated Q&A From MojangCan I sell access to commands that can also be obtained by things such as timewise or building? Like if a person who has bought a Donator Package have access to World Edit, since my Architect rank (you build for this rank you DON'T BUY IT) also has access to World Edit?Posted in: News

Jun 13, 2014Devinske posted a message on Mojang Announcement: EULA, and ServersI'd like to report the server PhoenixCraft (198.50.177.60) for breaking the EULA and selling redstone access, among other things, not just redstone.Posted in: News

Jun 13, 2014Devinske posted a message on Mojang Announcement: EULA, and ServersThe reason I am asking is because of this quote in the article: "You are not allowed to split your playerbase into paying, and non-paying users, nor can you restrict gameplay elements to different tiers of player."Posted in: News
But this mainly applies to Survival servers, and we are a creative server. (No, I'm not Gollum) -
Jun 13, 2014Devinske posted a message on Mojang Announcement: EULA, and ServersPosted in: NewsQuote from BestMinerGavin
Mason getting water access is somewhat of an advantage for the Mason, so it is illegal. The /nick is fine. Have anything else questionable? Everything cosmetic such as hats (not armor hats, but like /hat), /nick, prefixes, pets that can't fight and particles are fine.
Mason you have to build for, and the whole point of the server is to build for ranks. And it is limited to Mason because water makes it easier to grief, and we don't want everyone griefing. Also, I had the question for World Edit, which is not such a thing of cosmetics, rather it speeds up the building process. -
Jun 13, 2014Devinske posted a message on Mojang Announcement: EULA, and ServersHello, there.Posted in: News
I am staff for a creative freebuild server. On this server, we sell access to perks such as World Edit Access and teleportation access. We also have ranks you can build for called build ranks. We also limit perks to each build rank. Such as:
Artisan get /nick, but anyone below Artisan does not.
Mason gets water access, and anyone under Mason does not.
These perks are because of griefing and lags, such as redstone lag machines, and using only one bucket of water to cover an entire build with water.
Please quote from me and explain to me if any of this is illegal by this new Amendment to the EULA - To post a comment, please login.
