Seriously... Flan already abandoned his SMP and wants to leave it in the hands of another coder... If I know anything about mods... that means Flan's mod is officially dead. It'll just be the centerpiece to 100 other startup mods that'll never be finished.
So, with Flan being out of the picture, it means I only have Zeppelin and FutureCraft to look forward to.
FutureCraft, though, looking like it's own game by this point, doesn't seem terribly likely. But who knows, he may surprise us.
I'm just a simple, greedy, player who wants fighters, tanks, cruisers, guns, and war... in MineCraft.
After reading all that... yeah... for all intensive purposes, it's a new game. Lol. Minecraft was just the inspiration.
Ever hear of Infinity: The Quest for Earth? You should check them out at some point. They're making a game from scratch that has, basically, an infinately generating universe. Tons of ships (including capital vessels). Being able to lead roving bandits to sprawling interstellar empires. It's pretty B-A. Discovered it, like, a decade ago. Still being worked on though. Good things are worth waiting for. And honestly, you might as well go for broke and develop something all your own dude. If you've got the skills and invested the time you might as well get compensated for it. Who knows, you might be the next Notch. And Notch strikes me as the kinda guy that would be flattered by all you have accomplished through Minecraft's inspiration. Unlike Bethesda who likes to sue people because they're assholes.
If I may throw something into the hat... I played the **** out of Freelancer. ESPECIALLY mods that had capital vessels. People always abused Capital Ships and under powered them. I think your system should be fun for fighters, but fighters, alone, shouldn't be able to take on a battleship. Heavy bombers and larger vessels should be included in there to take on capital vessels and anything less would be fail. Don't leave out a cockpit view... sometimes we like to have a view from the bridge. EVE didn't have that for AWHILE. Hated that. Why I never played EVE.
IF you should make your own game... Then Dropships for infantry, drop pods are always epic, armor and mechs. Dropships for vehicles and tanks. PLEASE don't make an auto-landing system like in Planetside. I didn't practice landing a HAVOC dropship on a dime in Tribes II to have a computer tell me I couldn't land a volkswagen beetle in a football field. But this is if your game goes solo (which would be superb for what you're talking about. There are no epic space-to-planet-combat games),
Always wanted to make an awesome game. Just... don't have coding skills. Actually... I totally lack the patience for coding all together. So kudos to you for that. More importantly... taking your fans input and doing your best to include everything that makes a game complicated (no one likes a retard proof flight mechanic like in BF2 or Planetside) and f**king epic. MOST importantly... taking the time to do it right.

I poked around on the mod forum but I don't know what I'm looking at. I visited one of the servers but it was just a creative server with stuff built in it.
Is it weird that the whole time I was reading about giant ships going into gianter ships I could think of nothing but Gurren Lagann?

hey flan, why do AA guns make random clanking noises then eat a stack of ammo?
I noticed that happens when using Too Many Items and giving a stack of 64 magazines. I think it realistically should only be 16 mags? Or less? Anyway, when it's the normal number (for me) I never have that problem. My inventory could be full of stacks of ammo. But whenever I give myself a full stack (64) it just consumes every last one until all the "hacked in" stacks are gone. Maybe yours does it no matter what, but that's what happened to me. Also, sometimes, everytime I get in the AA gun, it magically spawns another one FOR NO RAISIN! Fortunately, I am the greetest.
Pardon my language, but the goddamn ****ing MGs still crash my world whenever I try to use SPC and the WWII guns.... anyone have a idea WHY the HELL this is HAPPENING? I mean, SPC I've NEVER had any compatibility issues with before, EVER.
P.S. I wouldn't be so pissed if I got a straight answer to my question, BTW... I have asked about this quite a few times....

It crashes when I fire out of a plane too. I'm going to try reinstalling the mod soon, but now I'm caught up in trying to model my own crap. Techne is a *****.
Could you please make an SMP spaceship pack with santa claus and nukes and chinese people with realistic NPC's that I can make out with? Or join FutureCraft... whatever.
MCP apparently is the way I'm supposed to do it I just found. I've been having problems with a lot of the steps but, through trial and error, I've been getting bits and pieces to work (as there's a lot they leave out between step 1 and step 2). So putting all the crap into MCP, MCP then decompiles .class in .java which you should then be able to import and modify from there... I think... I'm still fighting this crap to work and will try to let folks know if it works. Or, like most people, if you NEVER HEAR FROM ME AGAIN, it probably means it worked... since, I guess, when most people figure it out, they never come back as they're consumed with the project they figured out.

I'm trying to installed this damned MCP but all the tutorials kinda blow. I had to add the path, which still isn't recognized... and it doesn't want to decompile the jar... probably because it doesn't recognize the path, though my error has no references to a path.

Not that anyone pays attention, based on how many dorks keep asking about SMP (and trust me, I want SMP pretty bad), I don't think I've seen a resolution to the "Saving Chunks" error. Is this one of those errors that such a small minority of people get that we don't have an idea as to what's wrong with it yet? Kind of like Notch's memory leaks in MC? lol. JUH LEMMEH NO! <3

Thanks for the quick reply. I have the program but I'm still ignorant on the difference between a model and a class. I'm trying to repaint something from Flan's mod and I have Techne, but I don't know how to import the model, and there's very little I can seem to find on Techne.
I have the Lancaster.class in Models but... aside from directly editing the .png in photoshop (and being a retard and not knowing what part goes to what so it's a pain-in-the-ass trial-and-error process) I don't know how to rope it in. Of course, I'd love to fart around with the actual models too, but that's a different can of creeper.
Sorry, I didn't read 104 pages... but I was wondering... is there any way you can have this import a model class? Say, we wanted to reskin a pig? Or armor? Or if someone made a cool mod, and we wanted to reskin a weapon or vehicle?
Only thing cooler would be a way to easily modify models at this point.
