posted a message on wierd dog glitch

Did your sister change her Gamertag name?

That happened to me about 3 years ago. The dogs would be assigned to one name and wouldn't recognize the new name, even though it is the same account. I don't recall hearing this ever being "fixed."

posted a message on Minecraft Update Issues
    Quote from MLSMMinecraft»

Having similar issues. Has anyone found a solution? I have tried contacting XBOX and 4J Studios but can't get through in their contact places in their websites. When Minecraft updated on the XBox360 the controls were all strange and the worlds completely empty of any work previously done. We have since reversed the update but any worlds that were opened under the update remain completely wiped out of all previous work. Other worlds opened now that the update has been reversed are fine. Is there anyway to recover the work done in those worlds? They were not saved in the new update but it appears that merely opening it in the new update was enough to completely destroy them. I have a son who has been working on a world in creative mode wince Christmas and it is completely gone. He is devastated. Please help!!

Unfortunately, it doesn't appear there is any way to recover wiped worlds. The only thing you can do is refrain from opening other worlds when you notice it happens.

As for the "strange" controls, check the settings menu. Sometimes after an update the sensitivity gets set to Zero. It's a weird glitch that's been in the game forever. We've all had to deal with it.

posted a message on Ugh..small world is intolerable

Read all the above comments. Just want to say to the OP:

You likely didn't spend nearly enough time as you probably should have researching the game. A search for "Minecraft comparison" brings up several sites that clearly state the difference in world sizes. I mean, it's only the biggest and most controversial difference between the versions; It would be hard not to miss.

To answer your question, though: No. The world size is not going to increase. The "problem" is not with processor power or RAM but with the file-size limitation Microsoft places on games. A larger world would mean a larger file size. Bigger worlds could be "shoehorned" to work on the 360... if you don't mind the game not saving any of the entities. It would save some disk-space but it would mean that all your villagers, tamed pets, Mobs (hostile and friendly), item frames, signs, boats, mine carts, armor stands, tied leads, and placed skulls would vanish -cease to exist- each time you load a save. I'm guessing you wouldn't want that.

So you spent 20 bucks and got a product that underwhelms you. That's life. I'm sure you know that, though, since you've been playing video games since before I was born (so... Pong then?). I josh! I kid! The good news is since you already own MC360e you can now buy MCX1e for just 5 dollars. So you're not really $20 down the hole... just 5.

posted a message on Redstone help

The brewing Stand should have three hoppers: one on top for the nether wart, one from the back for water bottles, and one on the bottom to pull the finished potions out. The bottom hopper should be Locked by default (use a RS Torch).

Brewing takes 20 seconds to complete. So use a hopper timer set to 21 seconds that will trip an RS NOR Latch. The output of the NOR Latch should lock the back hopper (to prevent water bottles from entering the Stand) while un-locking the bottom hopper. Use an auto-reset circuit on the RS NOR Latch so that it trips itself back after about 6-8 ticks. That should be enough time for the brewed potions to drop out. The bottom hopper would re-lock, and simultaneously the back hopper would unlock to allow the water bottles to enter.

Cycle repeats Ad Infinitum. Or until you run out of water bottles. As of yet there is no way to automate filling bottles, so you have to do that part manually.

Well actually, villages already show up as dots on the map.

    They do?
I just remember seeing the grey and green boxes that mark the stone-roofed houses and farms, respectively.

Was it just slimes that TU35 broke? Because I heard sporadic reports of other mobs having low spawn rates.

Anyway.. now that that's all in the past I guess I can update now. Betcha I hold the record for tolerating the TU34 Sprint controls the longest. :D

Like when 4J added acacia and dark oak logs to the game before the saplings to grow them.

posted a message on Customizable texture packs is a must!!!

There was a time when this topic popped-up quite frequently. Heck, I even made a thread on it (and it got locked for redundancy).

My idea was very similar: allow for a "User Texture Pack" that the, erm... user can select from their purchased TPs.

I agree, there are some packs that have a few nice blocks but overall don't appeal to me. If I could cherry-pick the blocks I like I'd be much more inclined to buy the pack (I might just buy all of them on principle if a Mix'n Match comes out).

Nevertheless, the point of many of the individual TPs is to build "themed" worlds. The City Pack is meant for modern style builds, so a fireman or doctor doesn't seem out of place there. Naturally, you could always suspend your immersion and ignore the look of armor. That's what I tend to do.

posted a message on Realms for Console Edition?
    Quote from 7101334»

... ... 4j have already stated - and, in fact, demonstrated - that XBox and Playstation Editions are getting Realms. It's just a question of when.

That's not true though. 4j's twitter has literally nothing about Realms even though they have been announced, even if a specific date has not. They're just hyping up the Cash-Grab Battle Update.

It seems you are already the leading expert on this Realms issue... You certainly know more about it than I do.
But then, in my defense, I don't really care. I let my Live Gold account expire years ago. Otherwise I'd be hosting all the Adventure maps I've built over the years. :)

And don't be that guy- the one that tries to blame greed or "cash grabbing" as the reason for anything you don't like/understand. I bought MCx360e back in 2012 and still play it occasionally today. There is no other Arcade game that has given me so much enjoyment and value then MC and the folks at 4J should be praised for dealing with all the whining over the years. To quote a former member on these forums, "You bought the game you wanted." You shouldn't expect to get anything more.

PS - I'm pretty sure the "Battle Update", like all the previous ones, will be free. In fact, it's Realms that you should probably pay a service fee to use.

posted a message on PC Texture Pack Support

It's plain to see you are unaware of copyright laws.

Authors of PC texture packs still own their property, even if they provide them free of charge. Without going to all the details, Microsoft and Sony do not have permission to use their content. It would still be illegal for either company to "allow" such content to be read/used. Making such changes to the console/game yourself is a violation of the terms of use and gets you banned.

If it were "so easy" it would have been done already.

posted a message on Maximum Blocks?

    1. I don't know for certain but a lot. Possibly unlimited.

I have an old Redstone Tutorial world I made with signs describing how/why things work (before Written Books were added). There's got to be about a hundred or so. Be aware that the text on a sign counts as an entity, so lots of "worded" signs will contribute to lag.

    2. Unlimited. Redstone dust is technically a block so there is no limit to how much can be placed.

    3. Unlimited. Glass is block.

    4. Unlimited. Carpets are blocks.

    5. Sixteen, last time I checked. Armor stands are entities so they must be limited in some way on the lower-end consoles. As entities, however, they function differently from blocks, such as sliding across ice and getting picked-up by minecarts.

posted a message on Host mode, Always daylight

The Host Options menu has been added to the game over two years ago, with some additions to it over that time. It's meant to provide easy-to-use options that mirror some of the more common console commands from the PC version.

The latest update for the xbox360 was in April. You can find the change logs for all updates here.

    Quote from CGBlocky»

It happened to my city, but in a densely populated area, on the xbox one, cutting my buildings in half. Is there any way to fix this?

Assuming you didn't Save the map after noticing the affected area, it's possible to prevent it from happening if you "roll back" to an earlier version. This also assumes you saved a copy of the TU / CU file you were using which you can move back onto your hard-drive. You also need to disconnect (i.e. pull the wire) from Live or it will automatically update to the latest version when you launch MC.

If you have already Saved the world, then Nope!, you're stuck with what you got.
