I'm working on the next update, and it will bring many new decoration blocks and more.
The Nether Beacon has an increased range in the nether and the default effect range everywhere else, you can choose between different effects, some of them are not in the vanilla beacon. You can also color the beam like in newer versions of minecraft.
Some biome re imaginations.
Basalt Deltas will look different again, Soul Sand Valley will have the Basalt Pillars and increased foliage in some biomes.
It might change a bit more, but this will be a "Crimson Spore Ray"
It has sound and spawns particles when it flaps it's wings.
As soon as it sees you, it tries to get to you, but don't worry you can hide from it very easy. As soon as it doesn't see you anymore it will change direction and fly off.
Will I port the Phantom? Maybe a little bit. It behaves a little bit differently and will get a new texture to fit right into the Biomes I want the Mob to be in.
Happy new Year, I thought I should share some wips of the next update.
The Biomes feel a bit empty at the moment, so I'll add some Ambient Creatures to make the Biomes feel more alive.
In Fungi Biomes there will be different spores flying around spawning spore particles.
And the Nether is a fiery dimension, so you will get lesser Fire Elementals. Those won't attack you, but you shouldn't touch them or you could get burned.
(this effect can be disabled)
All Ambient creatures will automaticly despawn after 3 minutes after they spawned, so you won't get too many at once and new ones can spawn.
Also coming in this update will be more block particles, Wartblocks and Nylium can spawn particles, but you can disable those particles if you don't want them.
The structures are absolutely required, and while I do not have design objections to them being placed in the "main" space for a full-height nether, there is no guarantee that there is anywhere near enough spawnable locations, nor a remotely good way to find them.
The Caves in the Full height Nether are way bigger and more open than in the regular Nether, so there should be lot's of space for the structures in the upper layers. Of course not the same as a flat bedrock layer and there will be walls of netherrack and openings to the lower part of the nether, but otherwise lots of free space

A new Update approached.
Now with Biome Ambient Particles like in 1.16
Many Biomes have Particles, even some Biomes from Biomes O' Plenty
Biome Ambience and Biome specific music
and some other minor additions
1
More Amazing news, I figured Out how to spawn Biome Particles. They need a lot of work, but I managed to spawn them

Thanks to Roadhog360 on CurseForge the next update will finally add Biome Ambient Sounds and Biome Music.
He did an amazing job replicating the Sound System.
The default Nether Music will still be able to play, but will sometimes be replaced with a Biome specific song.
Some Biomes like the Warped Forest will not play any music per default (even the default nether music), but can be enabled in the config to play music

Adding block particles really improves the feel of the Biomes. But Particles won't be the only thing improving the feel.
There will be ambient mobs and new monsters

Well the Water isn't changed because the stream water blocks are their own blocks, not regular water blocks.
Don't know if they can be added to work with shaders, never worked with shaders.

A little sneak peak at the two new biomes that will come with the next update:

A new update.
Now with Strider Mobs. They are a bit different from 1.16 and won't walk on lava on their own, but you can ride them arround on lava just fine.
They also dropp Strider Flank (meat)

So next Update will be soon.
Will bring farming to the nether so you can start living there.
