I suggested some of them being closer because if this would ever happen I would love to see tradesmen with their wagons full of goods travelling along pathways to a nearby town for trade. If they were to be to far apart, then it would be a little pointless adding that feature.

Get some NPC mods! That always helps me spruce up the game.

I tried the mods, but they don't make the village seem alive, or at least in the sense I think I should feel. I tried one mod, and all it had was spawning people all over my town, and I decided to delete it because it just kept spawning people until everything got way to crowded haha.

    Great minds think alike! :biggrin.gif:
This would take a really long time though. But given that mc was just released, there is still years of updates and all so there is a chance that this may one day be included :smile.gif:

    Update:

I have so many ideas running throughout my mind that I am finding myself writing all of this down on paper haha.
    Just another thought.
What if the villagers would be able to form some kind of land boundaries and have guards guarding day and night. If you are an enemy of that village the guards will attack you and if they manage to kill you, they will take your items before you can come back and retrieve them. Being very mad with them, you join their enemies and become a warrior for that village. You plan an attack, the attack goes well, you take over the lands, and the people are now loyal to you. You can recruit 2-4 to follow you wherever even in the darkest halls of the underground. The village increases its trade and decides to expand in buildings. You help with the building and are rewarded by gifts. The once small village becomes a city and after many years becomes an entire nation with you sitting at it's throne.
Boy oh boy, so much more to say haha! so much ideas!

Making the game even more of an rpg imo. Remember this is a sandbox where you build to get away from the monsters, not build to get trapped with them :biggrin.gif:

I love the idea as a whole because I also hate the way water flows in this game. The only thing that I do not like is the whole erosion part, only because you are basically saying that they would erode and become smaller? But all blocks should always stay the same shape or else everything will get to complicated. Maybe the erosion would just make the blocks look different and change appearance or time rather than actually wear away?

I am not sure if this has been suggested before or not but I think this would be a cool idea and addition to the game.

It seems that the npc towns for now are useless and just stand there never changing. The people inside the towns are a nice addition and make the towns feel a little bit more alive, but not by much. They never do anything , just walk around and get stuck in the generated wells.

    My suggestion:

What if the players would be able to conduct trade among these people? It would make the towns feel more important to survival. It would also make the towns seem like part of something bigger, something important and worth taking note of for new players playing survival.
Another thing... What if the towns were generated a little bit closer to each other? And if they were able to conduct trade among each other? Everything would seem so much more alive, and the worlds would not feel so empty especially if you are not playing with friends on a server. If the towns would trade, they would be able to make relationships and even form alliances between each other. The towns would be able to grow and new buildings would appear showing their wealth. Depending on the towns wealth, the buildings would be decorated differently etc. Now lets take a look at the opposite. What if two towns were not getting along with each other and decided to declare war? The npc's would plan attacks on the enemy town during the night and raid it, burn down buildings and steal their valuables. Maybe they would even be able to take the town over and make the enemy npc's declare their loyalty to them. What if you were able to choose sides and help one town and help them take over another? They would build magnificent statues for you etc. There is so much more that can be thought off of this simple idea, the choices are endless.

I know that this is a really big idea, and it would take a long time to do, but it would most likely have a positive effect on the overall gameplay. This suggestion may not even ever be read through, but if it does and mojang decides to one day apply these ideas, then minecraft single player would feel so much more important and meaningful.

If you think this is a good idea, please bring up my reputation and post comments, I love reading what others think!

posted a message on What were you like when you started playing minecraft
Well honestly I had a pretty bad experience at first, and I can blame it all on my stupidity lol.

I watched many videos before I started playing just to get ready and get a feel for the game.
When I started my first world, I knew the first thing to do was to get some wood. I found a tree and wanted to cut it, but because of my stupidity I did not know I was supposed to hold down the left button until the block broke. So I kept pressing it and letting go, and obviously the wood block was not breaking. I start getting annoyed, so I googled it but I found no answers because it is such a no brainer. I started freaking out a bit when I found no answers, and I was blaming the game. I was saying how nothing ever works for me and how my game must be broken because of my luck. I turned the game off and didnt try it again until another week.
My brother came over to my place because he also joined minecraft and said his was working fine, so I called him over to try and help me fix it. He got the game running, and sure enough, he broke right through those blocks with ease. He looked at me confused, and I felt like such a moron. Anyway we had a long laugh and everything turned out fine. Now I play almost everyday, mining through that diamond without a problem :smile.gif:

    Moral of my story:
    Stupidity has no limit :biggrin.gif:

Really liking it. The explosions are well timed, especially when you jump out and the plane explodes. Good job, keep up the good work.

posted a message on My Minecraft Series
    Hey everyone.
I have a world that I play on when I have spare time, and I am creating a whole story upon it on my blog. It is pretty fun, even if not many people view it, really. Basically, my videos just show what I have been up to on the world and updates that have been made, etc.

I know that my videos are not perfect, and I am sorry that I have no voice either, but I don't have a quality voice recorder :\
I might add music to the videos to keep them a bit more interesting.

This is my second video. In my first video, I found a couple of buildings and decided to begin to build from there. In this video it shows the updated small town, in what I was able to do in around 3-4 hours of gameplay. Not much, but whatever

I usually work on very big projects, so decided to take things down a notch or two. I will be adding videos constantly showing what I have been able to do on the world on my youtube channel.

How do you guys think I can work upon this idea? Anything I am doing wrong?

If there are others than can do the same thing without having access to my account, I would rather not give it to you.
I am not saying I do not trust you, but I really do not like the idea of giving account details to random people.

tommietanka I honestly do not know what measurements to use because whenever I would try, everything would look off.
Do you know the standard measurements for a youtube background? Because I don't :biggrin.gif:

This is what I would like:

Just a really cool picture of minecraft, either a picture in game or something else that relates to minecraft.
On the left side, I would like my name written sideways going along where the videos are and my profile information. If you do not know what I mean I can show you an example.

Basically, that is everything. I really do not require much I just want it to look good.

    It is funny.
I played on a server with a mixed group of teenagers and adults.
The funniest part is that the teenagers were more mature and serious about the game then the adults. Really pissed me off when the older decided to grief a whole town that me and a couple of others worked on for a very long time

    Lesson:

It depends who you play with. If you have friends in real life that also play the game, play with them. I do not play on random servers anymore unless the players seem very mature.
    One more thing...
You can't judge people's maturity by their age. Those teenagers are a perfect example.

Can you show proof that you have done this before?

I am sorry for asking, but I need to know straight up.
I can't just give out my youtube account to strangers, you know? :smile.gif:
