posted a message on [Question] - I respawned at original spawn point, even after sleeping in a bed multiple times.

    [Resolved]

I just had something weird happen to me that in thousands of hours played, has never happened before.

I'm 30+ hours into a 1.9 survival world and it was looking great. I hadn't died once, and I've slept in my bed at my main home dozens and dozens of times. Well I stupidly walked outside my house to kill a zombie that was bugging me but I didn't look behind me until I heard the dreaded "Ssssss".... BANG!! I'm dead :(

No big deal, I'll respawn 10 blocks away in my house.... Wrong!! I respawned at my original starting spawn, like 2000 blocks away and across an ocean!

This has never happened to me before in years of playing, if you sleep in a bed that becomes your default spawn point... Right??? The only thing I can think of, is that I think (not 100% sure) that the last time I slept in a bed was in a temporary house I made in a cave just before entering a large mineshaft.

Could this be the cause because the temporary house in the cave isn't there any longer, or is it a 1.9 bug???

Appreciate any insight as I'm really confused.

    Thanks

If I may, I do have another question regarding v2.2.2 for 1.9. I understand it's a Beta, but I'm interested to know if this is a bug, issue that needs to be balanced in future updates, or if this is a normal thing with all versions.

Q: Swords and Cleavers seem to be quite well balanced in terms of attack speed and damage. But, wood axes (hatchets) seem to be quite weak in their attacking stats, unlike the Vanilla axes in 1.9 which are slower, but deal a lot more damage than swords, so they are now a pretty damn good weapon.

Also, Pickaxes and Mattocks seem to be 'Very' overpowered. [Example]: I've been using a Steel cleaver with a few modifiers on it for a while, it's very high damage but has an very slow attack speed to balance it, whereas my Steel Mattock with no modifiers used deals almost the exact same amount of damage as the cleaver, and a lot more than a Diamond Sword, but has a 471% faster attack speed! Meaning it has almost no cool down and can be spammed when attacking just like you could in pre 1.9 versions.

boni, is this the way it's always been and intended, or just an issue that needs to be rebalanced in future non-beta updates???

Would appreciate the info on this.

Yes, that is what Boni meant.
    1 chest for patterns
    1 chest for gold casts
possibly 1 chest for clay casts

Yep, you are absolutely correct, I just emptied the chest completely of any wooden patterns, and now the chest will accept Gold casts  Can't believe I didn't think of trying that before.

Thank you for the help, boni and Robijnvogel

    You can, just not both.

Sorry how do you mean exactly??? I tried taking the pickaxe head, axe head and both tool rod patterns out of the stencil chest, then tried to added the gold equivalents, but they would go in.

Are you saying it can only take 1 material, so to put gold patterns in, all wooden ones need to be removed or vice versa???

Can't you use the same one? The Pattern Chest, that is.

I was able to in the last version for 1.7.10. Did it change for 1.8.9 and 1.9?

Yeah as already said above, unfortunately you can't use the pattern chest for the gold/clay casts, at least in 1.9 TiC v2.2.2 you can't. Whether it's a bug or a removed feature I don't know, but it would really be good to have that back or a new cast for them.

I really want this mod. But my parents won't let me download it. :(

 Without being rude to your parents.... Why on earth would they not allow you to download a visual mod like a shader??? That makes absolutely no sense!!
I could understand if you are very young and it was a horror or violent mod, but it's a lighting mod

Quick question: Is there a chest for casts (gold and clay), like there is for stencils, or do you just have to use a normal vanilla chest???

This pack is not for 1.8

    I'm guessing it's for 1.5, possibly 1.6, though I doubt that.

How do I know? The newest file in the 64x pack is from July 2013, and the newest file in the 128x pack is from October 2013. At that time, 1.6.x was still brand new.

LOL, that's all I can say to your comment...

posted a message on Sophisticated Wolves

Hi NightKosh, I believe (could be wrong) I may have found 2 or 3 bugs with Sophisticated Wolves 3.6.1 for 1.9.

One is related to the "Better collision": I had 2 wolves, both would follow behind me, but for some reason they would push into each other so it looked like it was just 1 wolf, until I stopped moving then they would stop and one would then move a few blocks away. But while they followed me, they physically merged into each other.

Is this an unfortunately side-effect of the Better Collision, or is it not supposed to do that??? (It was 1 Black & 1 Grey wolf if that matters)

Second issue, "Peace of Mining": I had to go AFK for 5 minutes while playing last night. So I mined a small 2x2 block tunnel approximately 8 blocks long in a cave I was exploring, went in taking both wolves with me and blocked off the entrance so we'd be safe. I went off AFK and came back 5 minutes later to see I was now standing at the opposite end of the tunnel! I watched for a minute and saw I was being nudged and moved around by the wolves as they were roaming the small tunnel.

Is this a bug, or is it a silly vanilla pathing issue that can't be avoided???

Lastly, I'm not sure if this is a bug, or a stupid vanilla MC issue. I had 2 wolves commit suicide on me in less than 2 minutes! While attacking and avoiding 1 creeper, I unfortunately backed up into another creeper which exploded and caused a fair amount of damage to me and both wolves.

I quickly got to safety by going up a ladder, when I reached the top the wolves teleported to me like normal, but 1 wolf decided to just walk around and drop off the ledge about 10 blocks high, which as he had just taken damage it killed him.

Then less than a minute later as I climbed down, the second wolf teleported down to me, then walked off in the direction of a zombie and dropped off a high cliff killing him too :(

So, what do you think: Vanilla pathing issue or something wrong with SW 3.6.1 in my game???

Appreciate your help and input on these issues.

    Thank you

Does anyone know, is there a way to increase the attack speed on Swords, Cleavers and Axes, something like adding a material as a modifier to make it lightweight or something like along those lines. Is this a thing???

Not sure if it matters which version, but just in case: v2.2.2 for 1.9.

Can you bump your OF from 1.9 HD U B2 PRE to the Official OF 1.9 HD U B2?

No, if I update to B2 (release) it CTD. One of my mods doesn't like the newest Opfifine.

Also, does it still happen without your RP?
It's a 1.8-based RP that is marked 'incompatible' with 1.9.

Yes, it does show as incompatible, but that's how this RP is made. It's a 1.8 RP with a 1.9 add-on. The 1.9 add-on doesn't work without the 1.8 main pack.

Please provide a new place to download. Just tried to download the Ultra HOF version of 1.15 and after the ad on Adfly, I was directed to a page telling me that my "software was out of date" and suggesting that I download new software. I wasn't even able to get the shader...

Did you wait 5 seconds, then click "Skip Ad" in the top right corner??? Or did you click on something somewhere on the page??

I could get a 960 instead, but up until you I had never heard of any of these problems.

Wait, so you don't even have the PC yet??? Well if that's the case, a GTX 960 is pretty identical performance to a R9 380 and an identical price tag, but the 960 will perform better with shaders due to drivers and optimisation.

Also, just be advised that you are looking very close to the end of this cycle, AMD and Nvidia will be releasing their new architecture and line of cards in the coming weeks/months. So the cards you are looking at now will drop in price by a decent amount, meaning if you shop smart you may be able to pick up an R9 390 or GTX 970 for the same price as the lesser cards.

I've noticed a decrease in MC game perfomance ever since i installed the radeon settings thing and updated the drivers, should i downgrade? last version i had was 14.501

For AMD 200 and 7000 series cards or older, Catalyst 14.9 was the last stable driver with no known issues. But it's not available for newer 300 series, Fury or Nano cards, nor is it's compatible with Windows 10.

    Hope this helps.

P.S. - Also bear in mind that if you're running Minecraft 1.8 or newer, overall performance with Any PC hardware has decreased dramatically due to the (terrible and somewhat broken) new renderer.
