posted a message on World Generation Manager v0.4.8 - Ungenerate/Regenerate a specific mod

    [Question]

Hi CreativeMD, I wanted to check something with you if I may, before I tried this mod.

My Situation and reason for using WGM:

I'm roughly 75 hours invested into a 1.9 world when it suddenly hit me, I've only found 3 diamonds and around 6-7 emeralds. That's way less than normal. So I started actively trying to find them, making it my sole and only goal. 7 hours of stripe mining and Nothing... Zip! Not a single diamond.

So I installed an Xray mod to check that something hadn't gone wrong when the world generated. To my horror, there is anywhere between 400 and 1000+ blocks between each vein of diamonds. Something had gone wrong... Big time!

The reason I want to ask you if this will work:

My world is custom, using a mod called RTG (Realistic Terrain Generation), which completely changes MC's world gen. But it doesn't allow control over ore generation, so I installed a mod called (SimpleOreGen) to slightly decrease the number of ores generated, making them a bit harder to find.

Unfortunately I changed to wrong value setting in the SimpleOreGen config and made Diamonds and Emeralds incredibly super rare.

So, my question is, would this WGM mod work in just regenerate these two vanilla ores in a world created with these mods and without regening all the work I've done building my little town???

    Appreciate your input.

    Thanks

I see the comments above regarding 1.9 updates and compatibility with RTG, all I can say to that is.....

:D (Just kidding, I'm patient. But seriously, RTG + Streams = Minecraft As It Should Be :) )

How do I make this look like permanent day time? The shaders mod permanently disables stuff light night vision

What??? That doesn't make sense my friend. What are you asking for, to make it Day 24/7 or very bright during the night??? Also, this is Not a shader, this is the shader core mod, so you will have to tell people what shader-pack you are using to receive any help.

Yes, its gone. Thank you. Overworld looks amazing but strange things happening on nether: In default hard settings, some nether pigmans are glowing white and looks odd at the same time some camera angles are complate dark except torches and pigmans, fire on the ground and dropped items. Lava barely visible. (opening inventory on that broken camera angle (or pressing F1) fixing that black blocks at background but after closing inventory still its dark (only some angle and direction: mostly looking north to northeast, southeast to southwest. Here is the screenshots

    https://www.dropbox.com/s/c149js8aaklsp1y/nether2.png?dl=0
    Is this normal?

This will fix the issue: http://www.minecraftforum.net/forums/mapping-and-modding/minecraft-mods/2493654-continuum-shaderpack?comment=371

It seems the Continuum team are doing separate shader settings for each world which is frickin awesome, but currently these new Nether/End setting cause some issues.

Well, im old minecraft player but shaders are very new for me. I never interested before minecraft's visual part. So i started to use shaders 2-3 weeks ago. In this time i learned to edit shader configs for older minecraft versions. Im new to shaders and shader terminology. Thats why im asking and trying to understood behind the choice of shader's default settings. I installed and deleted totally at least 5-6 different shader on different minecraft versions 1.7.10 to 1.9.2. Its nothing i know. There are too many shaders but they all have same problems like extremely dark nether or bright day/dark night. At the moment im using 3 shaderpack on minecraft 1.9 custom modpack, kuda 5.0.6 ultra, kuda 6.2.8.1 default, sildur's vibrant shader 1.141 extreme. I saw a shader list on the first page and im planning/want to try every one of them but every shader needs to configure one by one. "Just installing and trying" is not enough and right. I asked those questions because most of shaders i tried are blurred at default settings.
About disadvantage, for example: in nether, you cant see anything except some tiny lava and glowstone light, there is complate darkness. When you use a shadderpack, you're missing ores around you; like nether quartz or diamentional shards from RFTools mod (which is very important to collect) and thats huge disadvantage. Thats why i must turn off shaders before every nether journey or mining trip (for benefits of nightvision)

The reason for this is pretty simple, Minecraft is ridiculously easy once you've played for a few hours, so people that have been playing for months or years, want something new, they want more realism, they want a Challenge, something that will spice up Minecraft again.
Shaders can really do that. If you have a powerful enough system you can run a shader like Continuum or SEUS Ultra, and Minecraft becomes one of the best looking games on the market, suddenly old MC players are exploring again, looking for new things being completely immersed in the world.
Also, it adds a challenge, some shaders make Night time extremely dark so it's hard to navigate and see what you're doing, it makes going out at Night a real challenge for survival. Personally most shaders ain't dark enough for me, I tweak them to make them completely Pitch Black. I do this with Every Single game I can mod, because games are easy, some more than others, but overall they are easy and I and a lot of people want a decent challenge that will make us feel like we really accomplished something by surviving, plus a nice helping of Realism and of course to be completely Immersed.

That's why The Nether is dark with most shaders, because it should be, It's Hell!! It was supposed to be a pitch black scary deadly hellish place that you only go to when you are seriously bad-ass and ready to survive. But vanilla Nether is bright, easy to navigate, easy to travel large distances... I think most would say it shouldn't be like that, it's The Nether, It's Hell it should be really tough.

My personal shader I use (Tweaked version of Continuum 1.8.9 Pre2) and other mods I've installed have made it so when I go to the Nether I Need, I "MUST" be absolutely on my A-game with some end-game level weapons and armor, because I can't see more than a few block in front of me with a torch in hand so I could fall off a cliff into a lava lake at any time. Other mods adding tons of new Monsters making it truly deadly because everything wants to kill me, I even wish someone would make a mod that makes Zombie Pigmen react like Endermen, so they are fine and will leave you alone but if you look at one, it will attack and when one attacks, they all attack.
But that would be a big disadvantage wouldn't it.... Why would I want that.... ;)

Knightlslime is made by combining purple slime, seared bricks, and iron in your smeltary. It's not the highest tier material, but before you have a way to get obsidian for alumite or a nether portal, it's one of the best things on the table for you.

Thank you very much, ArioTheEpic, much appreciated :)

why shaderpack developers loves the misty glass screen? All shaderpacks i tried comes with horrible settings like dof, blur, chromaticabberation, jitter, sunflare, vignette etc. all those effects makes worse. I don't get it why are they crippling they own work. Is anybody really ok with default settings on any single shaderpack? All looks like a joke. Non of them works well. I can't see far objects clearly, nether always extremely dark, days too bright, nights too dark. Also nightvision always broken, waypoints are hard to see and invisible if there is no any object between you and waypoint marker (from mod called JEI), hp bars shaking and hard to see (from mod called Neat). Some of them has problem with barrels(from mod called Jabba, better barrels etc.), stained glasses. Using a shaderpack shoudnt give you any disadvantage why there is no shaderpack like that? They all looks great but gives tons of disadvantage and makes unplayable at the end.

LOL, so people cannot make 'Their Own' mods how 'They' want to.... they have to make them like you want, or me, or the majority???
This logic is... errr.. well poop frankly! People make their own work how they want, if you like it as well and want to use it, Great go right ahead. If you don't like it, then don't use it. If it's fairly close to want you want, do what most people do and tweak it so it suits you.

Or if you think all shaders are rubbish, instead of moaning that people ain't making their own versions correctly, make your own.
Even better, maybe be grateful that people spends sometimes hundreds of hours making incredible mods and sharing them with everyone else
    Fair point??

P.S. I'm not looking for an argument, but if you are going to post ridiculous logic like that on a forum basically saying "everyone who makes these mods is stupid and doing it wrong" then expect a little criticism back at ya.

Oh, I fixed this myself in the 1.8.9 preview2. There's actually three separate shader programmes; one for each world. The nether, the end and the overworld. I'm not sure why the Continuum Devs did that, but you can fix the issues by simply deleting the ''World1'' and World-1'' folders within the shaderpack file.

After doing so, it all functions perfectly. =)

You Legend! B) Thank you anomalously for this.

    Hi.

I'm interested if i am the only one with this stuff:

    https://yadi.sk/i/ERPFreOLrT66R
    https://yadi.sk/i/3DuRJ8xdrT67J

    1) POM is enabled in Nether while it's disabled completely in shaders properties.

    2) Monsters and players looks liek at screenshot - like negative or something.

Anyone else have same problems? Any way top fix it?

Looks the same in 1.8.9 pre, 1.2 classic adn pbr versions.

No you are not the only one believe me. I posted (Here) when I started using 1.8.9 Pre2 and saw the issues while in the Nether. v1.1.5 seemed fine for me in the Nether, but 1.8.9 Pre2 totally breaks, everything is over saturated in red, shadows break, light direction seems off and yes, entities weirdly glow bright when they are near a light source.

I just setup 1.1.5 to roughly the same as 1.8.9 Pre2 and switch them when entering the Nether.

No, none of that did much. =/
My fps is still 19-25, with those listed settings turned off. Upon switching back to the 1.8.9 Preview2 pack, my fps jumps back up to the aforementioned 50-60. So, I'm inclined to believe there is definitely something goofy with this release. I'm not too fussed, honestly. I am quite happy with the 1.8.9 preview2, as it makes MineCraft look beautiful and it performs wonderfully. =)

As for the texture packs, I'm not a fan of Chromahills; nor any of the hundreds of texture packs I've tried over the years. Misa and Faithful are the only two that I ever really liked. With the Preview2 shaders and my Misa pack, my fps is at 50-60. So again, I'm not too worried. Thank you for your help.

Ok, so I spent a good while playing around with v1.2 and the PBR pack last night, and unfortunately I can't relate to these issues you're experiencing

1.2 is certainly buggy, distance objects look.... errr... weird and janky to say the least, and the GI is places is extreme. Holding a piece of green slime in my hand was causing an entire wall to light up bright intense green which is a bit OTT. But the overall FPS I was experiencing was roughly the same as I get from 1.8.9 Pre2, (well the way I have 1.8.9 setup and within margin of error).

Regarding the PBR pack, well it looks fantastic, I love the style. The FPS, well again I didn't notice a drop compared to a 256x pack I've been testing for a few days, with only some blocks being textured in the PBR I guess that makes the difference.

So I'm lost same as you to why your performance has taken such a hit. Sorry I can't offer anything to help.

I've searched this thread but came up with nothing because the search function on this forum is completely useless, and weirdly even the TiC Wiki has no mention of it, so I thought I best ask here.

    Hmm.
The 1.2 release seems to have severely impacted my performance. Is it safe to say that it is still a preview/beta? If so, I'll go ahead and return to the version I was using previously; ''Continuum Preview - 1.8.9 - Preview2''. If not, then I'd appreciate some help figuring out what I'm doing incorrectly. As it stands, my usual 50-60fps has bricked down below 30fps. With the ''Pulchra PurePBR'' texture pack, it plummets even further to 19-20fps.
    -snip-

Can you check with Afterburner what your VRAM usage is at when running 1.2 and the PBR pack???

I'm wondering if your VRAM is maxed out, or maybe it's starting to use the half gigabyte of super slow VRAM on the card, as I know when I personally run 1.8.9 plus a 512x pack my VRAM can push 5GB utilisation at 14-16 render distance.

[Edit] - P.S. on a completely separate note. It's really refreshing to see someone post on a forum asking for help or advice that provides loads of information, screenshots, explanations, specs and stats...etc., it's so much nicer and easier. And massively better than the normal: "HELP!!!!1 It no work fix it!1!!", that people post

Thank you and Kudos to you Quavelen, that's how a forum post should be :)

posted a message on [Question] - I respawned at original spawn point, even after sleeping in a bed multiple times.

Arrrh damn it! Never mind. I managed to find the mineshaft I last slept in and yeah, the bed was gone. A few blocks were missing from the wall behind it, so when I left, as I was fighting a few mobs a creeper or two must have blown up and taken the bed with it :(

Oh well, at least that explains it. I thought it might have been a bug with 1.9 or something that had changed as I haven't play MC since 1.7.2.

    All those diamonds gone *sigh*

Thanks for the help, I didn't think about going back to check if that bed was still there.

    Cheers.

I recently started a 1.9 survival world to see what it was like and test a few new mods. Damn, you really forget how empty and boring the vanilla world is without this mod. 1.9 seems pretty good in most parts, but without Mo' Creatures it's just... void of life :(
