All right, F1am, you can haz your kitties. :wink.gif: And thanks for the compliment, BackDraft.

Also, be aware that I have changed a few things in the original post. That mostly means grammatical error fixes, but it also means several additions to the idea, so, if you've already read it, you may want to check over it again.

P.S. LOLZ at your sig, F1am. XD

What makes you think that allowing players to kill each other is a good thing? I left your server, thanks to a certain zlavik...

And rewarding people for killing their fellow players by putting their names on this thread is stupid as well. I can't survive for five minutes on your server.

I'll just have to seclude myself to an island far, far away. Bwahahahahahahaha!

posted a message on The Pet
I'm not really sure about this thread. Yes, I want pets. No, I don't think that using magical dust is a good game mechanic. Yes, I want to have a pet Slime. No, i don't want pets that can't do anything. Yes, I want a pet Creeper. No, I don't want my friend to blow up to save my life. Besides, how could I get close enough to a creeper to give it the magical dust without being blown up? And why can't I have more than one pet?

What I think we should have is a leash item that we could make out of leather and just one diamond in order to make it a late game item rather than available from the start. We lure whatever animal we want to capture with whatever type of food it likes (sheep, cows, chickens, and pigs will eat bread, spiders and skeletons will eat raw ham, and, maybe, Creepers will eat fish. I don't even like the idea of having a domesticated zombie.) by throwing to them with the "Q" key. They will stop whatever they were doing, giving us about one minute to right click on them with the leash equipped. They are now domesticated.

Spiders can have a saddle applied to them and be ridden just like a pig. All pets will have an inventory half the size of yours and can be given any item that you give them.

Only one pet can follow you at a time. The pet that has a leash equipped (maybe in a "neck" armor slot) will be the one that follows you around. All pets that do not have a leash equipped will remain docile, even if they would normally attack you. They will freely wander around unless confined inside a building.

All pets will be able to equip chestplates, helmets, leggings, and boots just like your character.

Any pet, whether equipped with a leash or not, will have the items that would normally be obtained by killing their species (a spider would drop string, a chicken would drop feathers) appear in their inventories over time. The items would not appear in their inventories if they are already full, naturally.

I suppose that's about all I can think of. Having new mobs, like horses, dogs, or the aforementioned "new mob" that may be coming before Christmas day would all contribute to these ideas, but they are not needed for Notch to implement this.

Wow. I can't believe how long that post was. In fact, I think I'll copy/paste this whole thing and make a suggestion thread right here: http://www.minecraftforum.net/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=112397

posted a message on A Better Way To Implement Pets
I have been looking around at a few "Pet" threads and haven't found much of anything that really pleased me. So, I decided to post exactly what I would want from in-game pets.

I think we should have a leash item that we could make out of leather and just one diamond in order to make it a late game item rather than available from the start. We lure whatever animal we want to capture with whatever type of food it likes (sheep, cows, chickens, and pigs will eat bread, spiders and skeletons will eat raw ham, and, maybe, Creepers will eat fish. I don't even like the idea of having a domesticated zombie.) by throwing it to them with the "Q" key. They will stop whatever they were doing and consume it, giving us about one minute to right click on them with the leash equipped. They are now domesticated.

Spiders can have a saddle applied to them and be ridden just like a pig. All pets will have an inventory half the size of yours and can be given any item that you would be able to equip.

Only one pet can follow you at a time. The pet that has a leash equipped (maybe in a "neck" armor slot) will be the one that follows you around. All pets that do not have a leash equipped will remain docile, even if they would normally attack you. They will freely wander around unless confined inside a building, but they would not disappear like a normal animal would.

All pets will be able to equip chestplates, helmets, leggings, and boots just like your character, and Spiders, Skeletons, and Creepers would protect you in a fight (Creepers wouldn't commit suicide, though, and your pets wouldn't die, since you've probably become so emotionally attached to them by now :3).

Any pet, whether equipped with a leash or not, will have the items that would normally be obtained by killing their species (a spider would drop string, a chicken would drop feathers) appear in their inventories over time. The items would not appear in their inventories if they are already full, naturally. Furthermore, the items in your pet's inventory would not disappear (?) when you died, and they would spawn at your spawnpoint.

I suppose that's about all I can think of. Having new mobs, like horses, dogs, or the aforementioned "new mob" that may be coming before Christmas day would all contribute to these ideas, but they are not needed for Notch to implement this.

posted a message on New Types of Fishing Rods
    ATTENTION:
I currently do not know how I could make a URL for a banner or post pictures of my fishing rod designs. Is there any way to make one without a site like Flickr? If there is, please tell me how, and I will credit you at the top of this post (right where this notice currently is).

Okay, so here's how it all started. I was trying to bring a cow into my home base. Every time I tried to pull it in, though, the cow decided to wander away again. After almost no time at all, my fishing rod was gone, and I didn't have a second one. So, I propose that we should be able to make fishing rods out of different types of materials.

:White: = dividers for the crafting grid. :mossystone: = string. [] = nothing. Everything else is self-explanitory.

Stone Fishing Rod(casts slightly further, pulls mobs a bit closer to you, and lasts as long as any other stone tool):

    :White: :White: :White:
    [] [] :cobblestone:
    :White: :White: :White:
    [] :cobblestone: :mossystone:
    :White: :White: :White:
    :cobblestone: [] :mossystone:

    Iron Fishing Rod:

    :White: :White: :White:
    [] [] :Iron:
    :White: :White: :White:
    [] :Iron: :mossystone:
    :White: :White: :White:
    :Iron: [] :mossystone:

Diamond Fishing Rod(all of the improvements of the Stone Fishing Rod apply, only further improved):

    :White: :White: :White:
    [] [] :Diamond:
    :White: :White: :White:
    [] :Diamond: :mossystone:
    :White: :White: :White:
    :Diamond: [] :mossystone:

Baited Fishing Rod (Attracts twice as many fish):

    :White: :White: :White:
    [] [] :Diamond:
    :White: :White: :White:
    [] :Diamond: :mossystone:
    :White: :White: :White:
    :Diamond: [] :Ham:

Long Range (this needs a better name. Discuss, my friends!) Fishing Rod (casts twice as far as a Diamond Fishing Rod):
:Sheep: = cloth (since multiple pieces of string are used to make it)

    :White: :White: :White:
    [] [] :Diamond:
    :White: :White: :White:
    [] :Diamond: :Sheep:
    :White: :White: :White:
    :Diamond: [] :mossystone:

Extra Strong (This is in serious need of a better name) Fishing Rod (Pulls mobs all the way to where you are standing when cast at them):

    :Red: = Redstone Dust:

    :White: :White: :White:
    [] [] :Diamond:
    :White: :White: :White:
    [] :Red: :mossystone:
    :White: :White: :White:
    :Diamond: [] :mossystone:

Extra Durable Fishing Rod (lasts twice as long as a Diamond Fishing Rod)

    :White: :White: :White:
    [] [] :Diamond:
    :White: :White: :White:
    [] :GoldBar: :mossystone:
    :White: :White: :White:
    :Diamond: [] :mossystone:

Well, that's it for now. If you guys have any suggestions, though, be sure to PM me, and, maybe, I'll add it. Don't get discouraged if I don't though; just make your own thread.
