How do you harvest tainted blocks or fibrous taint? A rift exploded, and after I killed the taint seed (spawn? i don't remember what the thing is called), the tainted blocks just disintegrated when I tried to break them. I tried normal shovel, normal pickaxe, silk touch shovel, silk touch pickaxe. The rift closer thing needs a lot of vitium essentia, and I don't know how to get it.

You have to leave the Taint Seed alive for a bit. The taint will spread. You can pick up the dirt with shovels and break tainted wood with axes, as one might expect. You can't pick up fibrous taint. But the important factor is keeping the seed alive.

Nice work! I'll be sure to keep that in mind with my steadily growing flux lol

Fair point. Maybe it's a bit more inefficient when it comes to the primal crystals, encouraging the use of the centrifuge for primal essentia?

Is there a changelog for the different updates? I noticed that a new version was released just recently, are the differences mainly bugfixes?

I think it should be a machine past the essentia centrifuge. The player realizes that they’ve got a lot of crystals lying around that aren’t particularly useful since they’re mostly using essentia jars for things. So they devise an ‘essentia condenser’ that functions similarly to the essentia smelter, but is highly efficient at converting only crystals into essentia.

The catch is that it runs off Aura, and it takes a lot for large amounts of crystal, so if you’re not careful you’ll have problems with your ambient Vis levels. Thoughts?

I try to stay 2 or 3 kilometers away from my base in any given direction. It’s not tough to contain the taint once it starts, so you may not even need that. When you kill the spawned taint seed, it stops spreading altogether. Alternatively you could drop into the nether and do it there, make a big dirt platform and pull a ton of tainted soil.

I hope so. Seems like TC6 is still in heavy development.

Are there any sources of vitium that are not from taint? Do tainted biomes spawn naturally? I haven't been able to find one, though I've seen 3 magical forests. Thermal Expansion adds a recipe for making mycelium, so I've been using that, but if I wanted to play TC by itself, are there other options besides hope for a tained biome somewhere without 1000 blocks in some direction from spawn?
From what I can tell, no. I think there might be naturally spawning taint biomes, but I've never actually seen one.
What does "20%" loss actually mean in the basic essentia smelter? I placed 16 mycelium (1 vitium, 5 terra, 5 victus) in the smelter with a piece of alumentum. I ended up with 9 vitium. 16 * .8 - 12.8, so I thought I might end up with at least 10 for a phial. Is it more like, each item has a 20% chance of losing...something? All aspects, some, a random assortment?
It's a general inefficiency, not really consistent. I think it means that there's a 20% chance on any given item smelted to lose a part of the essentia produced. It's randomized.
Can you specify more than one location for a use seal, or is it one seal per block? Trying to make a tree farm. In TC 4.2, you could use the bell to specify other areas, but that's when the seals (I forget what they were called in TC 4) were attached to the golems rather than the area. Is it possible to disassemble a golem back into its component parts? What is the range on a golem with respect to a seal. How far can the golem be from the seal and still act on it? 3x3 chunk area? 16 blocks?
I'm pretty foggy on golems since I'm running Tinkers' Construct and BuildCraft, so I don't find it particularly problematic to get trees or large areas cleared. There are seals, you have to put a lot of research into Golemancy in order to unlock them. Again, I'm not really good with them, though, so I'll leave it to you to figure out. As for disassembly, I don't think so. No clue about the range.
The warded jars in TC 4 held 64 essentia. The warded jars in TC 6 hold a lot more, but I can't tell how "full" they are. Do they store 256?
They hold 250 max. Make the Goggles of Revealing (I think that's what they're called) and you'll be able to see the amount of Essentia in any given container/ crafting tool.
I would like to do more experimenting in a test world. I've seen the /tc research [player] RESEARCH_NAME command. But that gives me all steps of the research. Can I give a specific stage? Are there commands for unlocking the prereq events? (the crystal dream, scanning an angry zombie, etc) Is there a command to grant observations in X or theories in X?
I couldn't tell you. I don't think you can unlock specific steps though.

So, where can I find a changelog/ update log for each iteration of 6.1 BETA? Like, what's the difference between 16 and the previous version?
