it should locate all things at feet level, and up to 4 levels given by the density of colours
I agree. Because we wouldn't want too many layers on the map or it would be overwhelming. Maybe you could make maps for different levels? Just as you make maps for different areas.

posted a message on Cave/Underground Maps
I had just come across an idea that I haven't really seen much before, at least not in this perspective. I was thinking that there should be something in Minecraft to support the mapping of the underground, such as caves, strongholds, player mines (this would be especially useful) and so on.

My idea is that it would work almost exactly like a typical minecraft map. You would probably craft and navigate it in the same way, the only difference being that you are marking cave systems and mines other than forests and islands. It wouldn't seem overpowered or too easy because it wouldn't show the location of ores, chests, or anything that would give the player too much of an advantage. It would just show the general shape of the underground caverns and help give the player an idea of what things look like. I think this would add playability, likeability, and a bit more "minecraft realism". It would make minign that much more fun! It would be great just to look at your progress on a strip mine or cave exploration and really feel good about it.

posted a message on Suggestion: Skeleton AI
The skeletons in Minecraft have always bugged me a bit. I believe they are a well fitting mob, but there is one quality to them that should be tweaked. They seem to have a dead on aim towards your character almost every time they shoot an arrow. It is literally impossible to avoid at times. A skeleton will be facing the opposite direction as I approach it, and an arrow will shoot me directly from the skeleton before it is even completely turned around. Not to mention they can still charge for a shot while you hit them, which seems somewhat unrealistic.

But enough of my complaining, I would just suggest that the AI for skeletons be dumbed down a bit. Maybe make their shots a little less accurate, and give them no ability to charge a shot while being hit. Because it can be very frustrating at times.

    Does anyone else agree?

posted a message on Survival and Creative server (factions+mcmmo)
So you've heard of survival servers and creative servers right? Well Citycraft is both! We currently have a faction pvp survival (but if not in a faction you will not be attacked by other players) And a creative world where you can build almost anything. We also have mcmmo and many other useful plugins.

Citycraft is a very personal server, where the owner likes to get to know those who join. We all get along and many of us get to know each other on the server. If you would like to join, you can go to the Citycraft facebook page here:

    http://www.facebook.com/CityCraft7s

This is a whitelist server so you will need to be whitelisted. Leave your username on the page and tell us why you would like to join our server and we will whitelist you ASAP. Or if you do not have a facebook, you can just let me know and we will have you whitelisted. Our server IP is 199.168.139.114 once you are whitelisted you can enter that IP and join us!

posted a message on Endermen to ruin minecraft ???
Ummm...They do notice you. When you look at them they look straight at you. I guaruntee this will not be an easy mob. It will be fun, and it will bring much more attention to minecraft as a whole. Hey the enderman might even replace the famous creeper, you never know.

posted a message on Endermen to ruin minecraft ???
I'm sorry, but reading that made me see that you have a very fogged view on minecaft. Monsters are supposed to be scary, and the fact that they are now(idiots to farm) made notch see that night time doesnt bring anything exciting. With endermen, you will have a reason to be afraid to go outside. Creepers, spiders, zombies, and skeletons got old after a while. They brought nothing new. Bt the enderman will bring something new.....very new.....

Ok first of all if you want to do "co-op" join a server. It's not very practical to hook up extra mouses and keyboards to your computer. And if you play minecraft on an xbox, co-op would still leave MANY PC gamers out.

Second, this red day thing sounds pretty cool. But it just wouldnt fit into the game. It would take a whle to play 70 hours into one world, and say if someone played minecraft constantly (like you said the longer you play the more chance of red day) they would be one constant battle. As if mobs werent hard enough, that would just be foolish. I dont think notch would want to add such a huge factor to the game if there is so much complication with the simple idea of this. It would irritate people and make them want to quit, sorry.

posted a message on Endermen Distorting [in-game] Reality
Seems like a good idea, but in the long run not really. It wouldnt be adding anything new to the game. You dont want the same old boring distortion, it would just be annoying. It would be much more fresh and scary if he stood still, then after about 30 seconds of staring the beast began to change, and possibly the terrain(temporarily). But that same old "screen distortion" is very cheesy and boring -.-. Same idea. different execution.

A very minor idea, but it would be a good addition to the game. These are the types of things notch usually adds when people ask.

Yes. When moving lava hits moving water it makes cobblestone. So you could have encountered that or possibly you found the edge of a dungeon o.o

Yes! But you forgot one major factor. sound. Keep in mind most mob sounds are annoying, therefore making the mobs VERY annoying. The sounds are consistent and repetitive, which makes me switch to peaceful mode in a heartbeat. But if you add a blood-curdling horrifying deathly sound to this creature and make it NON-REPETITIVE (meaning there will be several differnt sounds it can make, not just one or two) And maybe have the creature distort itself at times (randomly, like you said). Possibly add effects to the character such as blurry vision when struck by the creature. And instead of the endermen just randomly "blink-teleporting" to another location, have them morph in a way by distorting their body structure. Just an idea to help wih yours. *thumbs up* :biggrin.gif:
