1. How long have you played Minecraft, and what is your favorite part about it?: Since Beta 1.6 so...off and on for six years or so. I've played in spurts, both vanilla and modded Minecraft. I've been watching a lot of hermitcraft on youtube lately and it's made me wanna get back into MC. My favorite part of Minecraft is definitely the freedom to create pretty much anything you please. For such a seemingly simple game it has always had a surprising amount of depth to it.
2. If you had to put a label on yourself, what type of player would you consider yourself?: First and foremost a builder, and although I won't claim to be amazing at it, I do have quite a bit of experience. I dabbled in redstone way back in the beta but once again, watching a lot of let's plays recently has made me want to get back into it.
3. Have you played on a small survival server before? If so, describe your experience: Yes, many different ones over the years. I've even run a few myself. Most recently I played/administrated a small vanilla SMP server for me and some friends shortly after the 1.9 update. In general, I find that sort of experience to be superior to the very large un-whitelisted servers.
4. By your best estimate, how active would you be if accepted?: Relatively active. I'm moving to another state in a few weeks so I can't guarantee a huge amount of availability but I would like to be able to hop on and play when I can.
5. What interested you in wanting to join the Rara Avis Expanse server?: A few things. It's a relatively new server therefore not bogged down with no space to build, and its a mostly 18+ server. In my experience, it is better for people to remain mature and respect each other. The ever so often good-natured prank isn't something you can really find on larger servers. So mostly that's what I'm looking for. A relaxed and mature community to channel creativity.
I've been a part of the minecraft community for awhile and finally believe my editing skills are up to par with my commentating skills, so I've begun to produce my first LPs. As many people know the Shotbow network has recently released a new iteration of the MineZ gamemode, aptly named MineZ 2. A friend and I have begun to create a series of episodes that will start a new season with every "notable" death. By notable I mean that it is good for a conclusion, like being killed via PVP in the far north. I'm a pretty crazy guy and can be spastic or offensive, so you have been warned. Enjoy!
Also, I forgot to put the teaser for the next episode in my first video but its in every episode after that. As of me writing this the fourth episode has an hour left on the upload and the fifth will be coming sometime tomorrow or late tonight.

Why do you want to join?:
I wish to join The Tales of Runebrire project because I am tired of unprofessional projects. While I do have a sense of humor and know that things have to remain at least lighthearted in order for everyone to get along, I do not agree with the virtual plethora of other projects that tolerate constant deviation from the topic at hand. Half of the projects I participate in barely even talk about the project itself! It seems as if most of them are created for the sole reason that the OP is lonely and needs people to talk to. I say enough of that! The effort behind both the OP and the amount of content proves to me that this is not the case with TToR. I hope to utilize my skill set and help create a good community and immersive gameplay with you guys! I've been playing minecraft for three years now, and can write well, build well, and even manage plugins and servers as well as some basic coding skills. I'm very experienced at what I do, but haven't done any of it in a while, other than writing, so I am a bit rusty.
What have you done in the past? What are your skills? (Proof please):
Ok...so here we go. Firstly, my writing skills. I am currently enrolled in AP english in high school, which only allows the top 5% of my classes english students in. That in itself should be proof enough, however I realize that it could be perceived as just here say. So, proof is necessary here, and I understand this. The first and most important piece of work I have to display is my DayZ fanfiction. While this may seem a bit strange to use as my most prominent piece, it has the most feedback and exposure out of all my works.
While this may be impressive, it doesn't fit the genre that is required of a project such as this, so I give you some work I did for another Fantasy RPG project that I was working on. *The reason I am no longer is because the server/community went down due to a lack of funds.*
This is a piece for both origins of a playable race, as well as the religion of that race and why the gods are worshipped. Its also presented from a first person perspective, which is a rare thing for me to write from! Note: The owner of this community gave me complete free reign on how I wanted the lore, which in turn decided a lot of the core mechanics, playable races, class system, religion, etc.
I hope that is enough proof of writing skills for the time being, but if you wish to see more that is fine with me.
Next, I will be displaying my ability to organize plot lines in a linear fashion, which I believe is a crucial part of becoming a quest writer. My abilities can be demonstrated in the various RP threads I have written on this very forum.
Finally, my building skills. While mine are nowhere near as good as yours, I still believe that I have a signifgant amount of skill that could benefit the server.
Way back in 1.7.3, before the end, I hosted an RP server. The following video and pictures are of various things me and my staff * of two other people 0.o* Built over the course of 3 months.
Hopefully all of this is enough to prove my worth. I spent a lot of time on this application as I am really interested in this project, and I hope that the effort I put into things is what you guys are looking for in people. Hope to get word soon....
Its late for me, or rather early, but I will definitely be applying for this later. This level of professionalism, extreme organization, and maturity is exactly what I am looking for. Hope to be in touch soon.
First rule of the internet: There are no girls. They are all guys in disguise.
Haha, just kidding. Anyways, this really sounds like you are looking for someone to flirt with more than anything. Seriously, this isn't the way to get yourself a GF, man. Don't keep your hopes up for this one.
Your ideas are the opposite of what minecraft has always strived to be. The kind of randomized elements you want simply cannot be done in the current engine. They would have to completely remake the game in order to do this! If you want something like this, go ahead and take a look around the "Rouge-like" genre. Most games in it are similar to what you desire, but instead of being sandbox and exploration based, it is largely combat based and level progression.
Jesus man, you have got yourself a serious gaming rig. Market price would probably be around 3,000 USD or more. You can run pretty much any game on the market on the highest settings with that.
How did you hear about Ascension?: I was browsing the "Looking for" section of the forums, as I generally do when I first wake up.
Why do you want to join the Ascension Beta?: Because the idea of the server interests me, as it is something I haven't seen before. This is a rare occurrence when you have been playing minecraft for as long as I have.
Do you have any beta experiences?: I've been participating in Beta programs for a long time now. Mainly in new and upcoming games, but I have also done some for minecraft servers as well.
How will you be of help during our beta?: I will actively search for and troubleshoot bugs and give very detailed reports that are easy to follow through and replicate. I also have some experience with the java language so I will have a basic idea of what is wrong. I've also been managing and hosting minecraft servers for over three years now, so I know what I am doing.
Have you read and understand the rules?: Of course, its the first thing I do when applying for anything. If I hadn't agree'd with them, I wouldn't have applied.
Do you have any questions about the beta or our server?: Not at the moment, but I will be sure to notify a staff member if any come up.
Well, if you are willing to learn I can do one better than just managing one; I can teach you how to do it all yourself. I'm pretty good with servers, just goto my profile and take a look at all the things I have been involved in. I'm not really interested if you just want somebody to run it for you, but I don't mind helping out people who are new to hosting. Hit me up on skype(you can find that on my profile as well) if you are interested. I definatly know what I'm doing as I've been hosting servers since minecraft 1.4 (Pre-release, the one before 1.0, the end, and all that. This was around the time they first introduced pistons.)
