    Ths mod is stable enough to add, if that’s your concern. It’s difficult to talk to the mod’s author, as he doesn’t say much in the community. So, it’s hard to say wether it is near completion or not. I would add it to your server, though. This mod is a lot of fun and stable enough. I hope this helps. (:

    the vis system from the new thaumcraft seems like a step backwards from thaumcraft 5. the hybrid system of aura nodes filling chunks with vis was the best aura system of any version imo.


    there is just something missing without the nodes. not only was it a really flavourful mechanic that explained where the vis inside the aura comes from, but node manipulation gave us ways to increase the amount of aura inside the chunks were doing thaumaturgy in.


    in the end, it is azanors decision, but the aura nodes were the greatest loss in the conversion from version 5 to 6 in my opinion. not just to the gameplay but also to the lore.


    I do like nodes, but on the flip side, I think they could sometimes be a hassle to set up, and they took up lots of room, and you had to find the right node, etc...

    I haven't tried it in 1.12 yet because LAG...
    But try plan + break/dig/whatever-it's-called. Insanely useful. I know it works in 1.10.

    Anyway remember that beta mobs are fill of issues. Lag can be caused by mod conflicts or tick bad renderization, and not by a true memory overcharge.

    Well, most of them are small things, like a mod that turns the Elytra into a bauble.
    Very few large mods, but I guess the small ones can add up.

    Man... you guys are all having fun with 1.12, but I'm still stuck on trying to load a level with mods and 1.12. I know how to install mods and forge and set it up, but I just can't load a level in 1.12. I can't create one.

    Side note:

    what if there was a mechanism that opened a "gate" between the Overworld (or Nether, End, etc. Any dimension) and where aura comes from?

    I don't remember the lore very well, but iirc, the aura is seeping out from another place, or plane, but that may have been lore from 1.7.

    The gate's purpose would be to let aura flow in for a short amount of time and permanently increase the aura limit. Or, on the flip side, you can leave the gate open as long as you'd like, but the longer you keep the gate open, the higher the chance there will be of taint/flux forming.

    Any thoughts?


    I could just post this in the thaumcraft/suggestions git, but I feel like there would be more discussion if I posted here.

    I think epiphanies are either going to be removed or changed a lot in beta 8. I don't know, otherwise, sorry.
