I'm assuming that just because of how many fundamental resources have been posted here, the site still receives significant traffic. However, I still can't imagine anywhere near that many people showing up.
So, I actually have some experience with this. a few years ago, I "co-hosted" the SaveMC survival server, which was something similar. It was on an older version to force players to build infrastructure and make walls, and other defenses more viable. I would recommend you have a clear set of rules regarding war, much like the Geneva Conventions, so that poor behavior doesn't drive people off the server.
I once accidentally blew up my friend's house when I was young. I accidentally put TNT and eggs in the dispenser, and then my friend's massive underground base was full of chickens and TNT. For some reason, I thought it would be smart to fill it with water (as if that would do anything). Eventually, he saw his wrecked house and he called me out on it. I then said: "I must have accidentally invited some guy on accident onto the server! Darn him!" He believed me.
This update does nothing to make Minecraft better. All it does is add a bunch of items and mobs that are so unbelievably redundant that the update will simply cluttering people's inventories further.
I feel that if Mojang wishes to introduce storytelling and "Lore" to Minecraft, they should take a look at villagers, the current source of most of the game's lore. Not only are pots limited, not only in scope, but also in potential. When I boot up my Minecraft world, I am more likely to care about the lore of a civilization, than a piece of pottery. Not to mention that a more overarching form of lore would fundamentally fut more inline with Minecraft's existing philosophy.
We still have things like the end, villages, and the deep dark that are so hopelessly connected. A decade ago we expected the end and the nether to be explained, at least slightly, but they still aren't.
The developers have so much to work with, yet they choose not to build off of anything we currently have, and instead focus on adding some random new mechanic nobody cares about. I mean seriously, who cares about camels? They change nothing.
But speaking of caring about things, what about the deep dark portal? I expected them to follow up the massive hype they had built up, but the dev's have once again decided to scrap any hope for a decent update in exchange for some random one-off idea that nobody will care about. If Mojang wants to make an exploration theme update, then why don't they take the more reasonable route and use the giant portal deep underground?
Overall, I find this update to be nothing but a massive let-down, yet nothing special at the same time.
There's no doubt about it: the latest version of Minecraft is the best version to play. It's packed with all the newest features, content, and gameplay mechanics, making it the most fun and engaging version of the game yet. Plus, it includes vital bug fixes and performance improvements that make the game run smoothly and efficiently. And with compatibility with the latest hardware and software, the latest version of Minecraft is more immersive and visually impressive than ever before. So why not upgrade to the latest version and experience the best that Minecraft has to offer?
No way. It is, in my opinion, the least engaging version of Minecraft to play. version 1.0-1.6.4 are the best game versions because you still have to mine and craft. Modern versions are not about mining or crafting in any way, they are simply about building automatic farms. Current versions are not for survival. Not to mention, modern versions of Minecraft are the least optimized versions of the game ever. I would say that the current release is the worst version of Minecraft ever. OP, I recommend 1.0-1.6.
I like 1.6.4. The game still had it's core elements (that being mining, crafting, and building) combined with stellar terrain gen, and plentiful caves. The item selection required you to be creative, and was a blast for creative and survival gameplay.
I personally loved it. It's a great series and out of the original songs, I think this one is the best. The animation is superb, although I wished they kept the theme of using custom textures. I also think using a theme other than the warden would be fun, all in all, though, it gets an easy 8.5/10 from me.
The end fight actually used to be very different than it is today. The dragon's primary means of attacking the player was to charge directly at the player, and according to the old Minecraft Essential Handbook, using beds to kill the dragon was the intended way to kill the dragon. Using beds against the dragon used to be much more difficult, as the dragon would come right at you out of nowhere.
I do not believe there are any better options for civil discussion of Minecraft. It has a wonderful blend of players both new to the game and wildly experienced. Most other platforms like Reddit and FTB do not have nearly as civil of communities, nor the abundance of Minecraft veterans. I find it wildly satisfying to help new players and to discuss the game with those who have mastered it. It is one of the few places where Minecraft's community resembles anything like it was 10 years ago, and thus it lends itself to be a very friendly environment.
It depends on if you traveled via the nether or not. IF you traveled on foot in the overworld, I would be thoroughly impressed, however, it depends on the circumstances
Honestly, all these mobs are awful, and we shouldn't have to vote for stuff Mojang can easily implement into the game. They should just give us good updates instead of having us beg for one.

Depends on the version. If it is 1.10.2 or below, I'd be down.

I highly recommend PebbleHost. They are the only server host whose prices aren't outrageous.

Holy cow. This is so cool. I can't imagine the amount of time and effort put into your series, but the work shows. Awesome job Joey.

I miss when Minecraft was difficult as this. Old versions are the best.
