Well, it is my opinion.
However, I fail to see the point of realism in games period. IT has always added more annoyances then anything fun to me.
That is just the way I am.

Here's an example of a fun game that's not realistic.
People can fire the Fatman from Fallout 3 indoors without killing themselves. Does that mean the game is bad, because it's not realistic? Does it need that much realism?

The weapon it's based on in real life, the Davy Crockett has a 1000 yard kill range. 500 of that is instant.

I just don't understand why a sandbox game, a game where there are basically no rules to how you play it, should restrict how you play.

For those who don't know, it was already posted that the NPC villages will be optional.

As for the hunger bar, it too will be optional. Notch would never force 3 million people to play the exact same way, that is true career suicide.
Plus, who the hell wants realism in a game where you can carry more gold than has ever been mined on the Earth in your inventory.
Because it totally makes sense that you'll be hungry when you can carry millions of pounds of gold on you. Or for that matter can cut down a tree with your bare hands, by punching it.
Or you know, being able to run thousands of miles without getting tired. ETC. ETC. Do I really need to go on?

That and Notch has always, always said that if he was going to add hunger, it would be optional.
He has been asked that question since before the Halloween update.
Heck, I wouldn't have been surprised if he was asked that question in Indev.

Sorry to burst your bubble, OP, but those people you linked to are getting their games crossed. The "red moon" they reference is actually a "Blood Moon" from Terraria. :smile.gif:

Also...don't over-think things. Not everything in a game needs to have a hold in reality. That just saps all the fun out of things.

Except that the idea of adding a blood moon/red moon to Minecraft is older than Terraria by at least six months.
Terraria's devs got the idea from what Notch wanted to add to Minecraft.

Same thing with Sky islands, Minecraft was first. In fact, one of the options in Infdev was to make a sky map.

Also, both those topics, if you bothered to read them are older than Terraria. :smile.gif:
It's impossible for them to get confused with Terraria when Terraria wasn't even thought of by Red and Blue at the time they were written.

He wasn't really an idiot. He even said himself that he only read Notch's tumblr, he wanted to add what he knew.
Crucifying him for that, is a bit harsh...Not just you, either.

I'd like proof that Notch/Jeb said Ghasts can't spawn in the real world, because that was one of the big things about Ghasts, they can spawn in the overworld by a portal.
Well, one anyway.

It's been that way since they were first created in the Halloween update. Heck, didn't even Notch mention that fact in the update about Ghasts?

As for this, well, probably fake, but I'm going to err on the side of caution and say anything is possible.
