The big problem is that I didn't delete any post : looks like an administrator of this forum showed excessive zeal.

This is the second time, the first time was due to https://www.minecraftforum.net/forums/forums/forum-discussion-info/2944101-regarding-disappearing-threads-posts-and-users.

I find this embarrassing even demotivating :(

@RenegadeXR : for your crash, you should try maybe the "--noXrayGui" option described here :

https://www.minecraftforum.net/forums/mapping-and-modding-java-edition/minecraft-mods/1292688-xray-mod-1-6-4-1-11-vanilla-forge-liteloader?comment=4387 (if the post is still there).

Please DromarLeBanisseur do not get discouraged!!!
If it were not for you this mod as well as this particular forum would have died!
AmbientOcclusion has not even been active for two and a half years. "Last active Thu, Dec, 14 2017 20:28:56"

We appreciate you dedication and hard work.
If Curse/Twitch/Minecraft Forum does not want users/posters for their sponsors dollars and keep deleting their viable and relevant posts (just look at all the complaints they have received for this exact issue) then we could all just use other services such as Forge or Discord.

Now when it seems the rift version is here to stay, there's one thing that buggers me:

Anyone, should I put the mod jar in the

    • minecraft/mod/13.2 -OR-
    • minecraft/mod

The first is as we are used to with liteloader and forge but doesn't seem to work with rift. The second will probably be cumbersome when you're using several minecraft versions. Will my 1.12.2 versions be confused by finding mods in the mod root folder?

It goes in the minecraft/mod folder

Can i ask you one thing how do i get an undetectable xray? Cus the server im playing on has you download they anti cheat from chrome than i need to login and also taxtures are disabled thank you

As a server owner I would say if they do not allow it on their server don't do it!
We put a lot of time and effort to get the world and mods the exact way we want!

Imagine you spent three weeks building and painting a model and you decide to display it for people to see.
When you turn around and find someone painting over it in rainbow colors.
Now imagine instead of it only taking you three weeks to build and paint it took you several years!
Yeah, that's about how it feels! So please be considerate of other peoples work!

If you really want to use x-ray as a cheat, find another server that allows it.
Or, run your own server. Mojang makes it pretty simple to play Minecraft anyway and with any rules you want! ;)

Hey thanks for the modified files.

I dropped this into the mods folder and forge did not recognize it and see the mod in the list of mods. I am running the latest forge mod/client (forge-1.12.2-14.23.1.2600). I'm curious to know what other versions you and others are using to get this to work?

I don't know about anyone else but I use LiteLoader and it works fine for me :)

Hey, I'm really new to modding and was wondering about how exactly to download it? I saw you asking people to look at the instructions but couldn't find them on this thread (I'm stupid, haha). I had to make a mods file and I can load it in a server, but it doesn't work correctly (doesn't reel in or re-cast). I read something about a minecraft.jar file (someone said it was in the .minecraft/bin folder, but I don't have a bin folder). If anyone could help that'd be appreciated.

There sounds like a lot but I will try to get you started from ground zero :)
First in order to use this you need to install LiteLoader. This allows mods/plugins to access Minecraft files. (Instructions and download on that page.)
NOTE: Plugins basically add/enhance features in the game. Mods actually add or change blocks/entities.
It looks intimidating but it really is easy to install. If your following the install flow sheet on the discussion page and you don't know what Forge and/or Shaders are follow the arrow that says NO.

Make sure you run Minecraft, using the new profile you created, at least once before you install the mods!

Now close the game and locate the folder on your PC/Mac .minecraft/mods
If you do not already have a folder in there with the version number of Minecraft you are running, create it
    i.e. on a windows PC c:\users\your_profile_name\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft\mods\1.12.2

From this point on just put any LiteLoader mod files like this one in that folder
It is also important to note that sometimes windows changes the extension of a mod your downloading to .zip
If this happens you will need to change it back to .litemod
    i.e change mod_Autofish_0.7.4_mc1.12.2.zip to mod_Autofish_0.7.4_mc1.12.2.litemod

Run Minecraft using your LiteLoader profile and enjoy!
    Hope this helps ya

Well since it's Thanksgiving weekend and collages are in break I am VERY hopeful that AO will be able to finally have an opportunity to update to 1.12.2.
I feel we have all been very patient and even defensive of AO so if he cannot update I would humbly ask if he would be willing to release the code to another coder willing to help update it. I am certain there would be someone willing on the Spigot board. I like so many others feel this IS the best mod/option available for the x-ray feature and as an admin have depended on it for a few years now and would really hate to see it die!

    Thank, AmbientOcculsion! :D
But I have a question, does Version 58 work for 1.12.2 as well? Is there a specific install method to get it to work? Or is the X-Ray mod stuck on 1.12.1 for time being? Thanks for all your hard work, the X-Ray mod has been a great help :)
    -AncientOmelet

Well I'm not AO but I can answer your questions. As of today 10/9/17 version 58 is still the latest version.
It does NOT work with 1.12.2 regardless of how you install it.

As previously stated and, beat like a dead horse, ;) It really is not uncommon of AO to be gone for awhile due to school, real life etc.

I know many people get paranoid because, they have seen the pattern of developers slowly fading away and abandoning their projects. (Including me)

However, I can also attest that AO has always suddenly reappeared with happy magical updates.

As for me, like everyone else, I am waiting for the magic to happen. Oh yeah!
