The thing that you destroy to break down the house actually glows, so you always have a light source, so that's why there's a torch in the recipe.

Oh sweet, didn't notice that. Thanks :smile.gif: I really like this mod, it's quite enjoyable to just slap down a safe shelter when the sun starts setting. Keep up the good work, I'd love to see some new buildings!

For the chest, It will allow the player to get infinite chests, so you should make a new block for the chest out of the old chest code and have it drop nothing when destroyed.

I personally don't think it's that big of a deal. If someone is going to use it to get infinite blocks, they might as well just install an inventory editor, and they're only cheating themselves.

I only have one question with the mod, why does the recipe include a torch, but there aren't any torches inside the house? I have to place new ones if I want it to be lit up inside. Other than that, great mod! Now I can always have the comforts of home while travelling :smile.gif:

Do You Have a Referral? (Optional): No.
Why Do You Want To Join? (2 Sent. Min.): First of all, I've never seen such a detailed OP, so you've obviously put a lot of thought into this and have great determination. Secondly, I love the idea, it's what I've always wanted out of a server; challenge and story.
Why should we accept you over everyone else?:I'm not going to say I'm better than anyone else, but I would say I am well suited to the server because I enjoy RPing, I won't whine or complain about dying, and if it means anything, I'm the lead admin on another server.

Have you read all the rules? Lieing will result in perm. denied. (Y/N): Yes.
Have you read and understood the lore? Lieing will result in perm. denied. (Y/N): Yes.
Do you understand the Game Mechanics / Currency system? (Y/N): More or less, yeah. I'm sure it'll make more sense in-game trying it out for myself.
Have you Ever Been Banned? If so, why? (Be Honest, If We Find Out You Lied, You'll Be Banned Here Too.): No I have not.

Reposting, because I noticed I had missed the PvP Rules on my first read through of the OP. I apologize, I was sure I had read it all.

Does the mod not work with Modloader? I can't craft coins after installing Modloader, but at least the game starts up I guess.

I have very recently finished and released a currency mod for minecraft beta, that runs with the current version with no issues. It consists of both coins and tokens, with 9 coins of the same tier becoming a token, and 1 token being crafted into 9 coins again. As well as this, three tokens can be crafted into the next tier's coin, or 9 tokens can be crafted into the next tier's ore/material (eg. 9 iron tokens can be crafted into 1 gold bar, or 3 tokens can be crafted into 1 gold coin).

The materials/tiers go stone (crafted from 1 smoothstone), iron (crafted from 1 iron ingot or 9 stone tokens), gold (crafted from 1 gold ingot or 9 iron tokens) or diamond (diamond isn't turned into coins, but 9 gold tokens can be crafted into one). This was done to make people work for the money, they can get stone quite easily, but it is time consuming. However, this way the reward of being able to craft the tokens into usable and sometimes hard-to-find crafting materials, makes it worth it in both SSP and SMP.

If you would like more info, or a download of this, you can check out the thread at viewtopic.php?f=25&t=108172 .

Hopefully this may help with your query on currency mods and you will try/enjoy it =).

Ok, I think I looked at yours a few days ago, but it wasn't updated to 1.3 yet. I'll let my server know, and maybe we'll give it a try.

Hmmm, only files 1/5 and items.png are available. And are you able to put them into a folder and then upload? Just to keep the .class files together.

Well, the mod itself works. Sadly only on Beta 1.2_02, so If you have the .jar file lying around somewhere you could test it.

As a matter of fact I do!

    Updates since my last post:

-added new textures to resemble coins
-finished the code for every coin (craftable using 1 iron bar, 1 gold bar etc.)

    Things lest to do:

-make the mod usable in singleplayer and multiplayer (SP is for testing purposes)

So, If all goes well the mod will be done in no-time. :biggrin.gif:

Very nice! If you want a hand testing the code, I don't have any saves I'd be worried about losing. Send me a PM!

    I know, I know. There's lot's out there. But I can't find the type I'm looking for that's compatible with Beta 1.3
The server I play on is looking to start up an in-game economy, and so we want a currency. Currently, we're just using coal, iron, gold and diamond, but I'm wondering if anyone can just make a recipe to craft them into coins.

    For example:
    [] :Coal: []
    :Coal: :Coal: :Coal:
    [] :Coal: []

    Makes 10 coal coins.

If you took coins and did this:
    [] [] []
    [] [] :GP:
    [] [] :GP:

Where :GP: is a coin, you get 1 coal back.

I feel really bad asking for this, because I know there's been so many mods like this, but I haven't found one that works in SMP Beta 1.3

If you have a link to one, thank you so much! If you want to make one, thank you so much! If you want to flame me, thank you so much!

So I found the properties file, how do I open it? It's not a .txt or anything. Sorry if this has been answered, besides the smoke in my face I love this mod!

open with any text editor. VIM, Notepad, Gedit, Wordpad, Word etc.

Oh, thanks. But do you know why we can't control altitude right now? I noticed a couple other people having the same problem.
