Sep 14, 2012Darkroom97 posted a message on 12x12 Pixel Display. Includes save, load, edit, and print functions. In terms of volume the design you made is very compact so grazts to you. The only thing i could think of to make it better would be to put it all in one cell.Posted in: Redstone Creations
Sep 2, 2012This may be a noob question but is it possible to increase the amount of item slots in your hot bar because when i do big redstone builds i like to color code but going into your inventory all the time is annoying.Posted in: Minecraft Mods

um dude a 5 tick clock sends a pulse every 5 tick that's why it is called a 5-tick clock.
to prove that i'm right take 5 repeaters and make them into a clock then send a 1 tick pulse into the clock and there you go!
No.... it depends how you word it. A 5clock is 0000011111 so 5ticks off 5ticks on a 5 tick clock would be a pulse every 5ticks or 5 ticks full cycle because this cpu in my mind is much to large for the advancement of instant wire at this point and because he has provided no video or download i am going to say that it is a 5clock in till WOODY proves me wrong then from now on it is a 5clock.
Jun 18, 2012Ok just to clarify is your clock 10 ticks on 10ticks off? otherwise know as a 10clock or is this really a 5tick on 5tick off clock because if it is i highly doubt it is possible without pipeline and the reason that think is isn't possible is when i break down the clock cycle. Let me break it downPosted in: Redstone Creations
1) branch or increase has occurred decoding branch/increase 3ticks max program rom bit if you used a semi instant decoder
2)program rom reads data from longest bit it appears to take 3ticks (we are already at 6ticks for farthest program rom bit)
3)reading from ram (i am ausming you used dual read) it would take 2ticks for each read
4)bussing to alu 2ticks
5)alu op you said it was 5.5 ticks
At that point you go over your clock speed. to get it at 10clock you would have use instant bussing or buffer your program rom ether way there is no way this cpu works on 10ticks from farthest bit. My fastest cpu runs on a 6clock a little over a hertz and this was a monumental challenge that involes my using pipeline and buffered program rom i could get it down to 10ticks IF i used a branch predictor only IF.
I welcome your input and i know you from the RDF when i see you lets have a talk
Jun 8, 2012You may have been brought in my the title otherwise know as the best thing that happened to redstone EVER. Just kidding but really guys I am making a redstone lets play on my experiences on The Redstone Development Foundation (mc.therdf.net best redstone server out there) You may join the server and look around but you will have to apply to build. My channel will chronicle my everyday building on the server and some huge projects I am working on. I will also do what I am calling pro tutorials were I teach you guys not how to build minecraft cpus but the logic behind them so you can build your own versions. Some examples of my work have been an instant cpu, quadcore, a couple mini games, and one of the fastest cpus out there MIST 1(6clock). I plan on posting 3 videos a week or more.Posted in: Redstone Discussion and Mechanisms
I hope you will enjoy.

Hey, hey I'm coming along. Look! Another video convincing you I've made progress:
I'm now having fun pondering just how long the wiring is going to have to be for the control data to reach the Program Counter. I'm going to need to take another look at your CPU darkroom to see what you did to keep it compact, because mine is really starting to sprawl!
The way I have made mine small will make you and pretty much all the admins mad. I used other peoples amazing tech. See people are too lazy to put there stuff together so i did it for them. A side affect of that is you get crazy small and fast comps. Lets look at my line up of tech:
Ram-2x5x11 dual read ram(miner's ram)
ALU- 2wide, 4.5 ticks, instant carry ,and crazy small(my alu based off of props who he based his off of anoms)
the rest of the stuff is just good bussing that comes with 8 version of trying to get my comp just right On another note you should look into not having a ALU decoder for one it is huge and two it is slow.
Apr 6, 2012Ok hans time for you to kick it into gear me and mvan both finished are cores and mvan made his quad core now! Also on the top that people seem to be talking about redstone logic works on two basic gates redstone(OR) and torch(NOT) this is very very different than what most computers use (transistors). Also coping a IRL computer would be the dumbest thing in the world because computer ARCHS tailored for minecraft makes for crazy fast computersPosted in: Redstone Creations

Continually? Duderant hasn't worked on this since 1.0.0 came out, if memory serves. And that was just to make the wiring compatible with the new Redstone physics. Aside from that, it's been several months since he did major work on it. (Although no, I don't know. I'm not him.)
It is Turing-complete. And it has some graphical output capabilities. Turing-completeness means it can implement any possible (and valid) mathematical equation -- to go from any (numeric) input to any (numeric) output. You could write quite advanced programs on it, largely limited by having very little program space and working data (and the bugs Redstonewarrior pointed out a few pages ago). However, Mario would probably run at one frame per week on this. If you could fit an equivalent program in 60 lines...
The same is true for all other fully fledged CPUs made with Redstone. None of them are about to run CoD. (And I should point out a number of people, like those on the RDF server believe this particular computer is hugely overrated).
I see we have someone smart here i thank you
Mar 26, 2012OK so i love your design of the "cells" but this is how i would do it have a huge and gate gird and values the values are decided by the roll and the ladders and snakes. You could have 4 of these for the players. My way would probably lag more put who knowsPosted in: Redstone Creations
Over all nice job

though his computer is not great, he does have some pretty good tactics at getting his up there. There have been many other good computers, but they all lack some form of a gpu, which his has. newish people think it is possible to make pong and various other games on it, but it just runs to slow. He does deserve some respect, because he has done what only a handful can do and it was made quiet a while ago. It does not match up to the more modern ones, but it has that gpu everyone wants.
on another note, why do you want so many games on yours? why not just make a dedicated machine? also with your games will the ROM be the only thing switched out or will there be hardware changes?
I hate to break to it to you but GPUs are the easiest part of a redstone comp because they are a single cell that you just //stack ..... so most people have them on there comp i don't have one on mine yet because i was just showing off my core. On the hardware thing there will be a I/O register line for hooking multipliers and dividers also number screen and that kind of stuff if you want it.
EDIT: Just so you know i can make 2x2gpus and his gpu is the size of my comp so again his computer is terrible
