We've been working on it for about.. 3 years now I think. Of and on, of course, because we also have our own own lives. It's just the 2 of us though, we've never had anyone else work on it so far.
Looks like that's the same as the others. Well, for now, there's an alternative download link through Mediafire available on our website: http://highrossferry.com/ Let me know if it works for you.
Hi there! We've been getting some reactions that the download link is broken. We tried to download the map a few times for ourselves but we found no problem whatsoever. Is everyone experiencing problems? We're trying to fix it, but we don't really know what's up ourselves.. So let us know what exactly you're experiencing, and also if it works fine. Thanks.
Oh and, yaay, we are still around sometimes! Thanks for the kind words!
High Rossferry - One very cool Minecraft city High Rossferry is what happens when a composer and an architect team up in Minecraft.Every building is accessable and built in a realistic way. There are many quirks a funny hidden area's. We are working on it since june. We use WorldEdit to help us with planning an structuring. Our goal is not to create a city as fast as we can, our goal is to make it perfect in every little detail. We're inspired by great artists. From Van Gogh to Mondriaan. And architects like Mies van der Rohe and Rietveld. There are many references to art, science, music and movies, all over the city. For more details and screenshots, check out our blog!
Hey Darkone55, I am making an Adventure map and I absolutely love this texture pack! It's exactly what I have been looking for and was wondering if I could use it! I would give you guys credit, of course!
I hadn't seen your post. You can use it for sure for an adventure map, as long as you credit us (preferably with a link to our blog, highrossferry.blogspot.com).
It's still x64, although we are working on a x256 version. See: http://highrossferry...ty-to-next.html. It's far from finished, but so far I am pretty happy with it myself. Some textures are slightly different, some are just high resolution and some are the same (x64) textures. So far, the x256 textures include bricks, wool, wood and natural textures like grass, trees and leaves (from LB Photo Realism). If there's any interest, let us know here.
For the natural textures to work, you need optifine.
If you want this map to be better, you need to put an easy to see download link to this. I've seen the video, and it looks awesome, but i just cant experience it for myself. You rellly need an easier way to put this up to download seriously.
Thank you and when you do put one up, tell me.
I know.. It's taking long. But we don't want to deliver half work. We're working hard on releasing it later this year.
While we are working on getting the city released somewhere this year, we are trying to get our city to the next level. That means two things. One, finishing the texture pack. Each block is currently 64 by 64 pixels. But Minecraft is improving, and so are we. So we're updating it (at least the most important blocks) to 256 pixels. Two, moving the city to a new place. Since a couple of versions ago, Minecraft added flat map support, which means we could customize the height and remove biomes, and get clear skies wherever we go in the city.
Here's a selection of screenshots from our latest posts. As always, more and bigger pictures on our blog (http://highrossferry.blogspot.com).
That must the best modern city i've ever seen in minecraft. It looks so real, and the architecture is amazingly creative yet functional and realistic. You're probably an architect yourself?
If you don't mind me asking, but you're not Dutch by any chance, a lot of buildings look really Dutch somehow. Some of it reminds me of Rotterdam, (although Rotterdam has less skyskrapers). Especially one of the bridges, which is called 'swanbridge' because of the shape.
We happen to be Dutch, yes. Some of the buildigs are actually based on real buildings in Rotterdam (and other cities as well).
