Whenever I try to run a game on my laptop, it all goes fine and dandy for about ten minutes, then it just dies. The screen goes black and it just... Dies. As if I turned it off. I have a few games on it (3, including Minecraft) and this happens with all of them. It happened with YouTube videos about a year ago two or three times but then it stopped, and since then it's been happening with games only.
Actually, I think it was Minecraft only at first, but then it started happening with other games like TABS.
I have 80+ GBs of movies and I have no idea if deleting them will help.
I need to tell you something important. In recent weeks, we have not made any progress. For I have decided to separate myself from some coders. It became very difficult to work with them. I'll tell you the truth. Winter Grave was very busy with his family and his job, so he didn't help much. Ibby works for several projects, sometimes he helped, sometimes he left, and sometimes he returned. Zaggy1024 set up the base of the mod, unfortunately he is very lazy and distracted, he made me believe many things, especially for the creatures, but at one point, I had to realize that he never would.
I myself made a break with the project. If I wasn't highly motivated, I would have stopped long ago. I don't know if the mod will resume. I would find people really motivated by the project. But I realize that the community of Minecraft is quite young and it's difficult to have a more thorough and interesting discussion about of the prehistory. And so its also difficult enough for us to stay motivated. So for the moment, the mod is on stand-by for an indeterminate period...
Animal Bikes doesn't add new 'mobs'. It adds new items, rather. For some people, finding and taming the animal is part of the fun. AB doesn't add naturally-spawning creatures or new enemies or items (not like what I have in mind).
So a while back ago (and by 'while', I mean about two years or three) I got an idea for a mod and made a thread. Looking back at it, it's not bad, so I decided to, uh, 'revive' it.
So the mod's purpose is to add more mounts to Minecraft. Of course, it will have other mobs and items as well, but mainly mounts.
[[[ - Mobs - ]]]
Camels - Like donkeys, but spawn only in desserts and are much more common. 25% chance to spawn with two humps. Camels with two humps can be equipped with two saddles and can be ridden with two players, or an extra chest on the back hump. Camels with one hump can be fed Hump Cookie which will let them grow another hump. Drop camel hide and camel meat when killed. Can be milked. Tamed with either cactus (more efficient) or carrots.
Dolphins - They spawn in small groups underwater and are extremely rare. They're partly-passive, which will mean they won't attack unless provoked. They'll only hit once after being attacked and will go back to normal. They can be ridden. Tamed with fish. Drop raw dolphin meat when killed. The only water mount.
Pegasus - Horses with wings. They're extremely rare and can only be tamed using enchanted golden apples. They have quarter the health of a normal horse. When killed drop leather and feathers. Sometimes (5% chance) 'Pegasus wing'. Will run away like an ocelot.
Scorpions - Spiders will no longer spawn in deserts; they'll be replaced by scorpions. They can only be tamed using "The Tamer". Naturally aggressive. Drop scorpion sting, which can be used as a substitute for spider eyes. Cannot be eaten. Can be used to poison other players.
Frogs - They spawn in swamps and jungles and can be tamed using Frog Kibble. Once equipped with Frog Saddle, they become ridable. They have low health and cam jump up to 19 blocks into the air, depending on the type. Tree Frogs (jungle) jump 19 blocks high. Bullfrogs (swamp) can jump 16. Pacman/Horned Frogs can jump 6 blocks. When 'walking' they always jump one block. They aren't fast.
[[[ - EVENTS - ]]]
Reindeer - For Christmas week only. Can be tamed with carrots. Can fly. Only spawn in mountains & snowy biomes. Extremely rare.
Bats - For Halloween week only. Can be tamed using spider eyes. Can fly. Only spawn in caves during night. Extremely rare.
Spiders - For Halloween week only. Can be tamed using spider eyes. Can climb walls. Only spawn in caves during night. Extremely rare.
Hare/Easter Bunny - For Easter week only. Giant rabbit. Can be tamed using Easter Eggs. Only spawn in plains, forests, and sometimes beaches.
Potato - First of April. Giant floating potato. Can be tamed using one potato. Spawn everywhere. Can be equipped with chest, no saddle needed.
[[[ - ITEMS - ]]]
The Tamer - An item that can only be obtained in Creative. Can tame any mob in the mod, plus spiders and enderdragon. Can only be obtained in Creative.
Camel Hide - An item that is dropped by camels. Can be used to make Hump Cookie.
Hump Cookie - An item that is crafted using Camel Meat and Camel Hide. Gives camels another hump. Max - two humps. If given to a two-hump camel will turn it into a one-hump camel.
Easter Egg - An item that could be found during Easter. Can also be crafted and placed. Used to tame and attract the Hare/Easter Bunny.
Scorpion Sting - An item dropped by Scorpions. Can be used to make a weapon (Stinger). Used as a substitute item for spider eyes.
Stinger - A weapon crafted from Scorpion Sting. Medium durability. Acts like a poison potion. Does half a heart of damage.
Saddle - An item made craftable by the mod.
Frog Kibble - An item crafted using insects items. Used to tame frogs.
Frog Saddle - An item crafted using a normal saddle. Used to ride frogs.
Raw Dolphin Meat - An item that acts like raw fish. When cooked heals slightly more than cooked beef.
Raw Camel Meat - An item that acts like raw beef. When cooked heals like raw beef. Can be used to make Hump Cookie.
Sleigh - An item that can be placed. In order to be used, one must use a leash to tie mobs to it. The more the merrier. Max 10 mobs. Can only tie dogs and mountable mobs. Mobs that are only tamed using The Tamer do not count. Comes in different colours and materials.
Pegasus Wing - An item that can be used to craft Winged Armour. Two can be combined to make Pegasus Wings.
Pegasus Wings - Can be placed down. Animated object. Aesthetic.
Winged Armour - Has the durability of a wooden tool. Allows to player to fly freely and glide for a limited time before breaking.
Cricket - Used to heal frogs/make frog kibble. Can be eaten/cooked.
Cockroach - Used to heal frogs/make frog kibble. Can be eaten/cooked.
Worm - Used to heal frogs/make frog kibble. Can be eaten/cooked.
Insect Trap - A block placed on ground. Catches insects (crickets, cockroaches, worms).
Now, I'll answer these questions that were asked on the old thread first.
> Are pegasi (Pegasus) overpowered ?
> Perhaps, but they are extremely rare and hard to tame and have low health.
> Why are water mounts (dolphins) better than boats ?
> They don't break, and you can use them to kill squids. They can also dive. (NOTE - Dolphins do NOT attack while ridden. Using them to kill squids is by attacking while mounting using a weapon in your hand.)
> More about Bactrian/Dromedary camels ? (wasn't asked, but I want to make this clear anyways)
> Dromedary (one hump) is faster on sand and can only take one player, can hold double chest. Bactrian (two humps) is slower on sand and faster on stone. Can hold two players and one chest, or one player and double chest.
> Insect properties ? (once again, unasked)
> Raw insects can be fed to frogs to heal them or make frog kibble. Cooked insects can be eaten by the player and will heal 1.5 hearts. Each type can stack up to 64.
NOTE - The Tamer does NOT work in Survival. Meaning that said creatures will only be tamed in Creative. This is NOT unbalanced, as if you have a way to get items from Creative then you are already unbalanced.
Then why did you list hardcore as a reason to make this.
You missed the word 'modpacks' in 'hardcore modpacks', didn't you ?
He has a good point, honestly.
I support this, but I got a few questions.
> Would there be any other uses for the moss ?
> Difference between wool and moss beds; do moss beds take up more space, or do they 'break' after some time, or do you wake up earlier...etc ?
I was actually not aware over the fact that you made the Saddle a multi-step crafting recipe. What about all those items, the Buckle, strap, etc? those won't be useful for anything other than make saddles, it's unnecessary. Giving it durability won't change either. Saddles are best left as they are, being uncraftable. They're not even that hard to find.
Yes, they are.
One some servers, you can just buy them.
In single player, you have to find a dungeon that may or may not have a saddle whenever you want to tame a horse.
This mod is about mounts (perhaps giant rabbits and bats as well ?), which will need saddles, which means that players will need to either be able to make saddles, or will have to look for a dungeon that actually has one every time they see a mount.
I know it's not really my business. But did you really have to quote my and Angel's post that was over a year ago? You could have first let us know that you wanted to revive the idea for a reason. Because I see the errors in my old critique, I'll make a new one:
The Camel feels redundant because it performs the actions of a Mule. Because it's a different Horse Variation, perhaps give it a more unique function than chest storage, the ability to carry more than one player, like you suggested. The Pegasi is incredibly OP due to how you can obtain flight, and beats every form of transportation. It doesn't matter if it's rare or hard to time, it's overpowered.
The Scorpion is also redundant because it takes the form of an insect that does poison damage. A more unique mob would be more fitting than this. I'm in the grey area about a water mount, while I have suggested one in the past, it's important that you not make it redundant or way more useful than Boats. Finally, I am not for being able to craft Saddles, they are rare for the reason of not being able to ride a Horse so early in the game. Saddles are fine as they are.
Your ideas are also quite vague, lacking in detail. Please add more about statistics, discuss the subject of the Water mount and Boat scenario, new mechanic for the Camel, etc.
Yo, Jody, Dark (Darkness MC ? Reptile HL(why) ? Dark Severus ?) here. I was wondering if you could, perhaps, turn this into a Technic modpack, considering that would be much easier ?
Responses in bold. Overall I liked a few ideas within your thread which would be a nice little addition to Minecraft. Others were quite redundant or unneeded as we already had solutions for those.
Minimal support.
I meant for scorpions to be more like spiders. It is indeed my fault. I have not made it clear that I didn't mean for them to be a mount, but a mere monster.
As for pegasi, yes. Good point. They'd have less health, and leashes cannot be used on them. They'll act like normal horses when tamed; they won't fly unless ridden or unless falling off, say, a cliff. They also can't swim... Well, like normal horses, anyways, but not 'fly' underwater. They would also have slower ground speed, maybe.
-The addition of Camels and Scorpions would definitely add to the desert environment, and scorpions could boost difficulty to boot.
-I think just having the Pegasus be rare alone would still be a little OP. I think it generally having lower HP than most breeds and taking away it's breeding capability, like Mules, would even it out.
-As far as a water mount goes, I'm not so sure about giant sea horses, but maybe dolphins instead?
Great suggestion!
Dolphins, indeed ! Tamed by fish. Maybe manta rays that you can stand on as well; like the Mantas in ARK: Survival Evolved ?
As for the saddle, I have a better recipe.
First, you'll need a leather strap.
Second, you'll need a buckle.
Then you'll need to combine them to make idk-what-it's-called.
(pressure plate = buckle, stick = leather strap)
Then you craft a seat.
Then the saddle.
Brick = saddle seat, gunpowder = buckle, stick = leather strap
I know it's much, but saddles are not supposed to be easy to obtain. Also I think it makes more sense than, well, this.

What about the Biter, Shocker, Lava Lizard, and Spine Eel ?
Also, the mech suit's gonna be there, right ?
Regardless of the answer, I support this !

Giant floating potato mount for the 1st of April.
Giant rabbit mount for Easter.
Giant bat mount for Halloween.
Turkey mount for Thanksgiving, even though I've never even been to America, but that doesn't sound bad to me.
Reindeers for Christmas.
