Ahh I've got a problem with the 1.5.2 download i believe O:
i can craft all of the cast's i believe except the ingot one.
And yes, i have tried putting it into the stencil table, it still doesnt give me it :c I've tried installing and searching NEI for it and it's not there either.
I'd rather not waste some of my metals, is there a way to fix this?
Place an ingot on your casting table and pour aluminum brass or gold onto it.
Hi, I've been thinking about your mod and I wanted to test it a really hard way : use ONLY this mod as a metal processor.
Now from wood only we can make our way to stone tools. But then we can't move any further because of the lava we need for the smeltery. This lava must come from a bucket which cannot be made without iron which could not be made without the smeltery applying the restriction I've made.
Nothing comes out of my mind except maybe to use coal as lower tier source of power for the smeltery. As lower tier, this should let us smelt a low amount of metals (like iron, aluminium, copper and tin). If this is doable, we could then use it as an hardcode mode where all vanilla tools would not be usable (still craftable for other mods such as Buildcraft's Quarry using a diamond pickaxe)
A last resort would be to explore and find a dongeon and hope for iron ingots or buckets. But I'd like to avoid that.
I believe the version of Magic Farm FTB pack that Jadedcat is testing has a solution to this (including changing other mod recipes to allow for disabling vanilla tools entirely)
curious whats the rate of Auto-repair on tools with Moss on em?
Very very low.
Bug report: Using a TC pickaxe on the microblocks from CB's Forge Multiparts does not reduce the tool's durability. (tested on mossy stone brick slabs/corners/pillars).
Using TC 1.4.1.7 and forge multipart 0.0.0.59 (enough 0's there CB?).
I believe that config option is currently not working, last I remember, because there are other mods that use the vanilla tools in a recipe.
I will find out for sure when I see Diyo next, assuming I don't forget to.
Last night mDiyo was working with Jaded and Myrathi (iirc) to fix that for the Magic Farm pack, so it should work whenever mDiyo pushes that update, aswell as the ability to make Thermal Expansion alloys in the smeltery.
Edit: Actually, think it was the night before last, I can't actually remember.
I'm thinking that I'd like to stream more on a daily basis, but the previous time was too early for some people. Assuming my sleep schedule holds, we'll have a stream from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM PDT for quite a few days of the week. Stream starts in ~5 minutes.
is it possible to make it so that the brass casts can also be used as normal patterns to craft certain tool parts?
since the pattern chest is only so big you'd need 2 of them to hold all wooden patterns and brass casts, so if you could use the casts for smeltery and part builder crafting it'd keep things alot more organized
EDIT: also, small type in "Mighty Smelting" I guess. for alumite is says 5 aluminum, 2 iron and 2 obsidian, but you only need 1 obsidian
No, no, you do need 2 obsidian ingots. You only need 1 obsidian block, since as far as the smeltery is concerned obsidian is an ore now.
Thank you for posting your question with screenshots and information instead of just claiming 'it doesn't work'. That makes me alot less grumpy about the fact you didn't appear to read the OP.
All metal tool parts must be made by casting them with the smeltery. The Part Builder only works with Wood, Stone, Bone, Cactus, Thaumium, and Slime. I may be missing a couple materials. I do not have my game open to check at the time. Basically, anything not metal can be made with the part builder, anything metal is made with the smeltery.
Tinkers Construct adds:
Aluminum, Copper, Tin, Cobalt, and Ardite as Ores.
You can look in the Mighty Smelting book you acquire in-game for a list of the alloys Tinkers Construct and how to create them.
Do not ask for updates to mods. Mod authors tend to get annoyed with it. I'd have to double check, but I'm almost sure it's also against forum rules.
The 1.6 Update will happen whenever Diyo happens to finish coding for it. Do not take any estimation from Diyo as an absolute date. Do not expect 1.6 to happen quickly. Do not ask about 1.6. The OP will tell you when the 1.6 version is out.
Calm down Kraal, look at the part I quoted, it was a joke. I would never ask for an update in a serious manner, I hate seeing that spam too.
It's nice to see "that" debate didn't make it over here, and there hasn't been any incivility (as there seems to be on other forums). That being said, I was about to show my support, and found out that your paypal is having issues (paypal is saying there is a problem with the email you supplied them...).
Hope you get this fixed, as I would like to throw some of my meager paycheck in your direction, since you do good work, and I am sure you've had to handle just a bit of stress in the past day or two.
necronic does still not work (on bows and arrows), tested in 1.4.1 and 1.4.1.2
Just stop. mDiyo reads every post, there is NO reason to post the same thing more than once. If it is infact a bug, mDiyo will eventually fix it, if it is a feature, then you MIGHT get a response from mDiyo.
But in the mean time, do not spam this thread with the same crap over and over again, we get that enough as it is.
Some would think these slots should be locked to only accept the proper items; at least I would. Is that what the mod author intended and it is bugged, or was it not something implemented in the first place? Only mDiyo can clarify that. It may not make any significant difference but if it is intended to have the slots reject items that don't 'fit' then it should be brought up if that isn't working. If it isn't already intended it could make a nice suggestion; again while not adding much in terms of real significance it would add a bit of polish to the system (and maybe remove a possible source of unneeded questions when people are randomly putting items in the slots and nothing is happening; if the item doesn't go in, they know right off it isn't a proper item instead of allowing any item in and just having improper items do nothing).
Yeah, Mdiyo hasn't really polished his armour tab yet, since he hasn't actually written most of the items intended to be used yet. I am sure once he gets to additional equippables (which is coming once he updates to 1.6) we won't be able to place just anything in them anymore.
I have melted Metals stuck inside my Smelter and I can't do anything with them. I can't pour into a basin, I can't pour into a cast nothing it's just stuck there :/ And what do you do with liquid in a basin that is only partially filled?
Either put more liquid in your basin (smelt down the corresponding ore/ingot until you can fill the basin entirely)... or break it and lose the contents.

Nope, they stay as 1 block
