You would've had to back up your save before you died. Minecraft constantly saves your game every second.

I walked and boated for a few hours, building a 70 mb save file. But cartograph doesn't work on it. It just creates a 0 kb jpg.

They may not look right because they are ROBOTS! Catch them on fire and their cow-moo simulator breaks and turns into an alarm.

    That's pretty sweet.

I just got a cool idea. What if ice broke sometimes when you walked on it? And I think snow should cover ice, so you don't know if you're walking on safe ground or deadly ice.

Also, an entire ocean shouldn't be able to be frozen, just the shallower parts.

why not use the ice to go across the ocean?

I'm assuming boats will be a lot faster than walking. And maybe they'll have a storage container on them. I wonder if we'll be able to build stuff on boats? Like a house?

Realistically it shouldn't in any way be possible to produce wheat in the winter, unless it is in some protected biosphere. I wonder if there will ever actually be a global temperature thing, where animals and plants may die if it gets too cold.

Zuriki originally found this, but for clarification, if you want snow on old maps, use NBTedit, find the "SnowCovered" tag. Change this to 1 (on).

You actually have to add the SnowCovered entry for old maps, right? I had to.

As with the rain from before glass doesn't stop snow. Hope Notch can fix this in future.

Snow on the glass would be really cool.

Yeah, it would actually block the light. You'd have to use torches to keep them clean. That'd be awesome!

    Nice cosy igloo!

    Need warmth.

    FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!

Awesome. Looks like ice will block snow but glass doesn't...

A pig I fought sounded very different, more grunty. Also, I wish the snow-walking sound effect worked on grass/dirt also. Is that a bug? Also, do you sit on pigs now?

You need a mechanism that can turn gears and is steam powered.

Go find an example Drury. Then we'll talk.

How about almost every steam engine ever? All engines turn things, that's what they do. (Except for those toy put-put boats)

    Gear powered tracks - Yuck!
    Steam engines - Thumbup

But... windmills and steam engines are THE SAME THING. D:

How? In that they both generate motion?

posted a message on Tradeoff: Compact Circuits (REVERT CHANGES)
What does it matter if it's complicated? I like the idea of certain players learning this "science" and other players having no idea whats going on. They'll go into other scientist's lab and have no idea whats going on. It's like a profession. Average players can still use it for doors and stuff, but do they even care about being able to make complicated circuits?
