posted a message on I have mined more than 3 million blocks and collected 2.74 million resources
    Quote from TheMasterCaver

Yes; in fact, I don't start caving until I've "beat" the game - I save it all for the end-game and branch-mine to get the resources that I need. I've never killed the Wither in Survival though since I can't bother myself to get 3 Wither skulls (I've gotten two, in separate worlds; I don't spend more time in the Nether than is necessary to find a fortress, get Blaze rods, and mine quartz to get XP to enchant my gear).

As for builds, my main base is not much more than some cobblestone boxes, and my secondary bases are even simpler (they are just places to store resources and restock on food and wood, and in some cases, farm emeralds so I can buy diamond gear from villagers, which sell everything in 1.6.4; I do not do this because I need to but because I find it to be fun); there is also no redstone or any sort of automated farms in my worlds, though I do have around 16,000 blocks of railways linking all of my bases together in this world:

Let me say, if there is anyone I'd ever come to for information on this game, it'd be you. You probably know more than the Developers at Mojang.

I'm surely going to have to read through your other posts, because your journey has begun to fascinate me. What you have accomplished is something I'd never be able to do in a million years due to my lack of patience and constantly needing new environments to play in.

The most amazing thing about your content though is that you have taken this game and made it your own.

    Keep up the good work!

posted a message on How to not cheat in survival?
    Quote from TheMasterCaver»

Hardcore mode does disable cheats on world creation but you can still open to LAN to enable them and do everything that they allow you to do (you can even cheat death since they added the option to spectate the world after death, and even before you could force-quit the game and edit the files, though that did require a bit more work than clicking a couple buttons).

I had forgotten about LAN, but you're right about the file editing. I actually did that myself once... going and deleting the lock on the world that is activated one you die. With reason, though! I ended up getting glitched onto one of those broken sand blocks that didn't fall correctly and suffocated. :(

    - Stained clay changed to terracotta. (Same thing just a more confusing name).

    - Glazed terracotta, very odd looking blocks with extremely distinct designs.

    - jungles have parrots (tame them with seeds, NOT COOKIES).

    - There's now concrete powder for all the colors in mc. When water touches this block, it turns into concrete blocks.

I'm probably missing a lot more but that seems to be the major changes to me.

Wow, really? I've actually tried the parrots out, and experimented a bit with terracotta, but had absolutely no idea about the concrete... thanks for telling me about that!

posted a message on THE LOST TREASURE - by Bezar [Adventure map]

I'm going to be completely honest with you, the map seems to lack depth and failed to really grab my attention. The video, however, was gorgeous in the way you portrayed your map and the effects you used. I can't say that the storyline lacks because I haven't tried the map, but I can definitely say that your map needs to have much more to do and has to be far more unique for it to stand out amongst the hundreds of others out there. The jungle scenario is a bit overused as well. Try terraforming new biomes or creating some awe inspiring builds!

Lots of people would most likely go into the map expecting all of that to be laid out for them, only to leave when they realize that a lot of the beauty was only in the video itself.

I hope nothing I said comes off too harsh, as I'm honestly only trying to give some constructive feedback. If I ever have any spare time, I'll make sure to try out your map and tell you how I feel after playing it as opposed to just how it looks. :)

Okay, looking at your replies to people, it really seems that you're milking intolerance. Just use swiftness potions when you build if you're not willing to try WorldEdit.

Agreed, isn't the only alternative to building with commands building by hand...?

If you don't like it, well, find a new game I suppose.

Well, I can't say I've had the same experience, but people have lately been starting to impersonate me. For example, I use this username as my handle, and someone had already taken it on Reddit, Twitch, and numerous other sites.

I have to long into these Forums using "DarkCFury" now... :(

Erm, I know a few lovely ladies who I could potentially set you up with... xD.

In all seriousness though, these statistics are rather impressive. I can't say I've ever played a single player world long enough to even get a double chest full of minerals. Well, a full chest of anything actually. I quickly moved on to modding, which then lead to me primarily playing multiplayer.

    A couple of questions though:

    • Have you killed the dragon?
    • Do you have any extremely impressive builds in that world, or do you mainly just mine?
    • How have you not grown bored and given up (I would have)?

Anyways, keep up the... uh... great work! :P

posted a message on How to not cheat in survival?

As others above have said, best thing to do is go on a server and play there. Unless you have been given the permissions and proper commands to do so, spawning items in, going in creative mode, turning on god mode, etc. can't be done.

The local host idea could work as well, but depending on your knowledge of file managers and FTPs you could begin to upload plugins that, as the owner, would allow you to cheat.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't there a mode in SSP that literally allows you to turn cheats off? (Not sure though, it's been awhile).

Sometimes, the best thing to do is to think up the biggest, craziest thing you can and keep at it until you have succeeded.

Set a long lasting goal and pursue it.

I've been doing it for five years now and I'm STILL playing the game. :P
