I'm all up for a mod if someone was able to put one together. Ideally of course I'd prefer to have this in vanilla, but lacking that a mod is the next best thing.
I have to admit, I think this is really cool. I would definitely build myself a house inside of one of these... Yes, I'm going to burrow in to and carve out the interior of a giant tree for my house.
Completely useless, but minecraft is as much about art as function and this adds another solid piece for people to be artistic with. Minecraft is 'blocky' because everything is stored in a 16x16x128 grid, but we've got a lot of other objects that aren't a block (fences, glass panes, etc...) and so that argument doesn't work for me. People can do more artistically with this and it's implementation should be pretty simple. Has my full vote.
Solid idea imo. Has advantages and disadvantages over a bed that will make it better for being out adventuring and will make a use for all that excess wool we'll have available for us when we get a few sheep and start being able to shear them on a regular basis.
Edit: Important to note that I do believe these should be single-use items. You drop it, sleep in it, and then it's done.
First off, I think the drop rate on ender pearls may need to get tweaked. If 1 ender pearl being used to activate a short range teleport is overpowered, then the drop rate should be corrected. However, for simplicity's sake I think that 1 ender pearl should be enough to activate basic effects.
For short range teleportation I suggest an 'Ender-arrow', that you can shoot out of a bow. However, right now there's not a good way to control what arrows are used by a bow which may be a minor problem. A simple possible solution to this would be to shoot by using arrows rather then using bows, but that requires a minor change to the game's functions.
A better way to fix this problem would be to make it so when you use leather on a workbench it creates 4-8 leather patches which can then be used to make leather armor.
I'll support this. I don't want to see a swarm of leather pop out of cows, but I think that getting the leather to make leather armor needs to be simpler. I have a full stack of steak (which I'll never use probably as I produce melons at a ridiculous rate)... and 12 leather.
God, you people have no imagination. You're supposed to make a giant line of allocators to act as conveyor belt? Further more, I'm sick of the complaint "It's too modern" (Though granted, the auto work bench I can see). There's is no reason NOT to have this, at least with some alterations.
Well, yes. You are indeed supposed to make a giant line of allocators to act as a conveyor belt. I'm not generally opposed to the idea of conveyor belts, they would be cool. At the moment, however, we don't even have allocators in vanilla, which are IMO far more useful and important to see implemented and once they get implemented there are many other things I'd rather see implemented. It's about priorities, and while this would be cool it's just not IMO worth putting the effort in to when there are so many other cooler and more useful things that I think could be implemented. :sad.gif:
Well, there's what appears to be at least 2 new resources available in the nether in 1.9 now. Today's screen shot shows bridges which definitely don't look like they're made of netherack, though they may be made out of a netherack-base brick. Depending on what all you can do with this, it may no longer be necessary to have cobblestone in the nether.
I've seen nothing suggested in this thread that couldn't be accomplished with the allocator mod which I am *much* more in favor of seeing implemented then this.
log is trees. and the resin WOULD be coded to only come out of a tree/log block one time.
Okay, then tree/wood/log are the same thing and it can be placed and picked back up. Thus, you sit there and put the log down and break it and pick it up and put it back down endlessly for an endless supply of resin. I guess it's possible to code it so that player-placed logs can't drop it though, would be a simple matter of having the player-placed log and the natural log be different blocks (even if they appear identical)
Lucky for you, Im doing that right now!
Im making the mob creator Really customisable!
So it changes or adds or removes blocks around it when the event gets called..
Ps.. The MC Mob Creator is now being merged with the Minecraft Mod creator soon..
Look it up! Its really good!
Some ideas for events that could call scripts are: on creation, on death, on finding a target, on being hit, and just periodically.

Most of the threads that have what I would consider decent ideas seem to have a comparable amount of text.

lol, okay. That you can't do with allocators and is rather humorous.

Is a log a new block?
