I started a new vanilla+ 1.20.1 world with Modern Beta, Nostalgic Tweaks, Friends&Foes, What Are You Voting for 2023, Alex's Mobs and a decent amount of performance and graphics mods. Syntra Connector allows Modern Beta to be playable on Forge with no issues. This is probably the most fun I have had with MC in a longtime. I liked the two plagues fighting in each other in Cursed Walking modpack, but just playing normal MC with old and unpredictable beta 1.7.3 world generation, nostalgic resource packs, and some mods that add scrapped, unused, removed features, and some wildlife that feels like it was designed by Mojang and not a modder is incredibly relaxing and fun. It was so fun to not have to speedrun the first 9 days to guarantee the world being playable past an hour of playtime and to just explore the world and find a place to build. My only problem is that the modded mobs are a little rare or spawn strangely. Giant Squids from Alex's Mobs spawn too close to the surface, and I have seen Tasmanian Devils and Wolves spawn on beaches.

I went back to my survival world in a Spore and The Hordes modpack, and I made some good progress. I defeated the Wither and Ender Dragon, built a Church for my town, and I had to disinfect some cave systems and for 2 hours around my "Panic Room" base that I use for Horde nights. There were three attempts at creating a Spore nest. Said nests cause a LOT of environmental destruction, lag, and can spawn bosses that humiliate most other mods bosses such as the ones from Mowzie's Mobs, Twilight Forest, and even vanilla ones like the Warden or Wither. I also unfortunately discovered a nest in a ravine not too fat away from my main base/town. Thankfully, I got rid of the Wombs with some TNT and a Power IV Flame Bow. It is still very gross in the caves and laggy near the area though. My next goal is to finally get around to building a stable for my Horses and Elephants. Since my main Elephant, Adalid has caused too many acts of friendly fire against Iron Golems when it does the death charge attack against a Zombie that hit me inside the town walls. Speaking of Zombies, is there a way to prevent them from spawning inside my town? The modpack uses Day Zombies Rebooted, and I have seen them spawn directly inside of well-lit buildings such as the Library, Church, Sniper Tower, and my well-lit Mineshaft.

posted a message on CurseForge Really Needs a Form of Quality Control (Dwellers)

I am pretty sure all of us are aware of the "dwellers" trend in the modding community. These mods are simple, they add a "horror" entity to the world of Minecraft that "stalks" the player and will attempt to ambush them randomly (usually ever 2 minutes.) It all started with the Cave Dweller by Gargin last year, and it became immensely popular, and has practically become the modern version of Herobrine. Of course, with popularity comes many rip-offs made for quick money or recognition. Many unoriginal mods such as Man from the Fog, Man from the Void, The One Who Watches, The Midnight Stalker, The Goatman, The Slumbering Omen, The Mimic Dweller, Christmas Dweller, Rudolf, The Yeti, The Bread Dweller, The Starved Stalker, The Creation, The Fever Dream, The Wendigo, The Demonic Watcher, and Various "Enhanced" Ports of the Cave Dweller to other versions such as 1.18.2, 1.16.5, and 1.12.2. The problem with these mods is that 95% of them copy and paste 90% of the code by Gargin from the original Cave Dweller and just change some of the assets, remove the more complex behaviours and just leaving it as a bum rusher that one or two shots the player, and allow their creation to spawn anywhere. Even in different dimensions and inside of well-lit areas.

As you can all see, these mods are very copy and paste and low effort. Since they all just use the same coding of a different mod and reskin the entity. They are all practically glorified resource packs. There is a new dweller every week that is just a reskin made for a content farm on YouTube and I always see them on the "recently uploaded" section of CurseForge. What I want to say is that CurseForge needs a quality control system to stop these low effort mods from reaching the front page so easily thanks to 8-year-olds that saw it on their favourite content farm channel and flooding the comment section of these pages with "How to install for Phone and Xbox?" I do not want to say that the "dweller" genre itself should be banned, but instead just prevent the reskins with the stolen code from being able to reach the front page.

*EDIT* I forgot to mention that these "devs" are so lazy and incompetent to the point where they often forget or do not know how to change the entity ID of the Cave Dweller from the stolen code. This often leads to crashes when they are used together or with the original Cave Dweller or Cave Dweller Evolved.

posted a message on Hi, I have question, is Mcreator a virus?

MCreator is good for simple mods. Such as the ones back in the days of 1.7.10 that just add a new tier of gear, a simple mob, and a few new blocks. The now infamous and oversaturated Cave Dweller mod and its long list of copycats were made in MCreator.

Are there additional rules to your challenge? It all has to be on foot with no Horses, Boats, Llamas, Pigs, or Nether?

posted a message on Man From The Fog Mod Question

The developer wanted to add "lore" to the mod by giving their DeviantART OC its own dimension and summoning ritual. It seems like the mod maker has no idea what they want the mod to be. The old random spawn condition has to be enabled with configuration now.

It is also unfortunate that so many consumers are fine with it. Remember all of the fanboys defending No Man's Sky, Cyberpunk 2077, Fallout 76, Pokémon Sword and Shield, and Mario Strikers Battle League? With classic excuses such as "Shut up, they worked hard on it," "Stop being ungrateful," "At least it is better than nothing at all," and "Do not worry, they can fix it." There were even Xbox fanboys defending Redfall when it first launched with these same excuses. Even after being "fixed" according to fanboys, Redfall is still a horrible, unfinished, and buggy game. The game crashed 11 times during my playthrough, enemies would often spawn in the ground or in walls, Vampires still struggled to reach me when I stood on a car, inside an ambulance, or went up a simple staircase. This is one of the very few bad games that made me feel genuinely upset and angry while playing. There were one or two fun parts per act, but the rest of the game was just repetition, Jiggy hunting, mindless shooting, and unfun boss fights. At least games like Walking Dead: Destinies, Crash of The Titans, Rise of Kong, and Hotel Mario made me laugh due to how bad they are. Redfall is just triple AAA rubbish that appeals to only the most braindead consumers with low standards. Lastly, the ending is massive sequel bait claiming that the "The Gateway" is still out there and in possession of the vampires. I am pretty sure that Arkane is smart enough to NEVER consider making a Redfall 2.

Not MC related, but I finally completed Redfall for Xbox Series X with only 11 missing achievements that I will never go back to obtain due to being locked behind Xbox Live and Multiple Playthroughs. This easily has to be the worst game that I have played in recent memory. Even worse than Rise of Kong, Garten of BanBan, and Walking Dead. At least those games can be dismissed as cheap shovelware. However, Redfall embodies everything that I dislike about modern gaming with its unnecessary live-service design, the "fix it later" approach that they tried with this game, and the MCU level of writing for the dialogue and story. The music is also generic hip-hop pop techno trash, the characters look like Fortnite OCs, the game sullied the reputation of Arkane, and the story is full of plot holes and contradictions.

I also love how the developers behind this game boasted about how "smart" the vampires are and that they do not act like braindead zombies in similar games such as Dead Island, Left 4 Dead, and Call of Duty: Zombies during various pre-release interviews. The "mindless" zombies in this game act smarter than the "hyper genius" biologically engineered Vampires in Redfall. At least Zombies in MC know how to go around trees and jump on tables to reach to their targets. The second to last boss of Redfall can be defeated simply by hiding behind her own fog generators and coming out to get easy headshots on her, and Miss Whisper is a "God-tier Vampire" in the game's lore. I am SO glad that I just played this with GamePass, because there is no way that I will spend 80 euros on this game. I feel sorry for anyone who bought this full price at launch or those who were stupid enough to buy the "Bite Back" edition that is not even complete yet.

I finished my gold farm, and it works very well. I followed a YouTube guide and made some modifications to the build. Even though I can barely see it due to my shaders, resource packs, and Nostalgia Tweaks enabling old Nether lighting, I decided to build it out of Nether Brick Slabs and Distorted Trapdoors (The blue wood), My only problems with the farm are that Baby Zombie Pigmen are a little difficult to get rid of and some my Hoppers do not pick up the items and transfer them into chests. This means that I may miss out on some Gold, Rotten Meat, and the occasional Pink Backpack (Sophisticated Backpacks allows for mobs to rarely spawn wearing a backpack.) I rarely build farms and usually against them, because I believe that they remove a lot of the exploration and challenge aspects of obtaining materials such as Gold, Bonemeal, Iron, Emeralds, Totems, Apples, Arrows, etc. However, since I am in a modpack where everything can still kill me in Full Enchanted Diamond or Netherite in 4-6 hits, I really needed a full powered Beacon for my fortress base quickly. I have had so many near death experiences ranging from being swarmed by a horde of Zombies or Mycelium Infected in caves, Wither Skeletons in Nether Fortresses and structures from Phillips Ruins, and even being chased for 300+ blocks by Rhinoceros or Grizzly Bears from Alex's Mobs. My only deaths in this modpack have come from Bison from Alex's Mobs in the early game before I disabled them with Bad Mobs. Maybe it is a bug or just bad game design, but the "defensive" mobs in Alex's Mobs act more like hostile mobs and attack me on sight without me even getting close to them.

Many people form attachments to fictional characters. So, it is not "cringe" to feel empathetic towards them. Just look at how popular and impactful series such as The Last of Us, Shin Megami Tensei, Pokémon, and Xenoblade Chronicles are. They are all popular due to the stories and characters. This is also why mobile games like Fire Emblem Heroes are so successful. People want to see their favourite characters. The fact that it is the only major in-house Nintendo mobile game that is still receiving updates says something. I just prefer to gather resources instead of making a farm, because I get more satisfaction in building something that I manually gathered the resources for instead of making a farm that does it for me. However, I understand your frustration with Iron. The modpack with Hordes and Spore has a lot of useful recipes from SecurityCraft, Macaws Fences, and Crayfish Guns that require a lot of Iron. I have a decent reserve of it from mining trips in the early to mid-game. However, it is a lot harder to obtain via mining 200+ days into my world, because the caves are infested with Mycelium. Not even lighting up caves seems to entirely work in this pack, because I still hear Zombie, Spider, Witch, and Infected noises in the cave systems near my base and see them on my mini map despite lighting up the caves. I am so nervous that a Spore boss will spawn in the caves, and that it will rise from the ground like in a film. I should probably create a layer of Obsidian and End Stone under my fortress perimeter.

posted a message on Minecraft 1.21 Update Opinion Thread

I like a lot of the new features so far. The Wolf variants were long overdue in my opinion, because all of the other pets have multiple variants and skins. The Horses and Llamas even have variants that are separate entities in the forms of the Undead Horses and Trader Llamas. In my opinion, they handled updating Wolves just by making biome dependent skins better than updating Cats to became their own mob independent from Ocelots. I like the Armadillo, because it adds needed wildlife diversity to Savannah and Badlands biomes, and I think that it could pave the way towards the promised updates for those biomes. Since Savannahs are essentially just Plains biomes with an exclusive tree and Llamas on Bedrock Edition. The Armadillo is also the only passive mob that naturally spawns in Badlands, so it helps make the biome feel less empty until Vultures are added. They are also good security measures for keeping Spiders away from my base just like the Tarantula Hawk from Alex's Mobs. I do not have much of an opinion on Bogged, because it is just an "Alolan" variant of one of the classic mobs, and its gimmick has already been done by Cave Spiders and Wither Skeletons. Although, I am glad that Mojang balanced the spawn rate to be rarer than that of normal Skeletons in Swamps and Mangroves. I also have another Skeleton that I can add to my Fire Emblem Resource Pack. Lastly, I cannot really form much of an opinion on the Trial chambers though, because I have not played with them enough to form an opinion.
