Yes, It has taken a while for the updates to be released on Amazon, especially when v0.6.0 was releasedQuote from electricblooz
what is the typical lag between the update being released and it being populated to the Amazon App store? I've heard that it in the past it can take a while.
around a year and a half ago. By the way, I got MCPE from amazon and by mid-late 2013 updates have been appearing
around the day as the update was released, so v0.9.0 should be coming out to Amazon on time.
On the other hand, Twitter is not crashing anymore so here is that link.
And here's another one
Now Friday really looks like the submittin' day!

Way to go dude. Your excitement has depressed everyone else.Quote from SkilletRocksRise
It's coming out LATE JUNE!!!!!!!
You don't even have a link for that.
I'm haven't really been playing PE in a while either for the same reason.Quote from Juggler1000
Honestly guys, if you can't wait like 3-4 more weeks, you have zero patience.
Once this update is out, we probably won't even need anymore updates. I mean, the only reason I stopped playing before 0.9.0 is because there's only so much you can do in a miniature world ;P
So sit back, relax, and play some other games for awhile. No one's gonna make the update come any faster except Johan, Tommo and Jeb_

Minetest is a game based off of Minecraft by software developer Perttu Ahola. As far as I know, it's exclusive to the Ubuntu Software Center. Imagine this game being like Minecraft Alpha. It's very simple: you build a house, survive the night - you get the drill.
Why play this instead of Minecraft?
The reason is, it runs a lot faster. Recently, my old hard drive, which ran Windows 7, broke. This meant having to get another internal hard drive for my computer, but this time, I chose not to run Windows. Instead, I wanted to try out Ubuntu. I started to like it, but as it turns out, the games I used to play on Windows that ran perfectly fine couldn't run so smoothly. Minecraft was really slow and laggy, and I did not like to play that way.
Ultimately, I figured the only way to play Minecraft on Ubuntu was to find a game like Minecraft on the Software Center desgined just for Ubuntu. Plugging in "Minecraft" in the search bar, I found one game out of all of the one hits. Minetest.
Sure, it's not as flashy and refined as Minecraft. The enemies are flat sprites, the day-and-night cycle is choppy, there's no hunger or survival aspects, there's no Nether or End, and there's no sense of adventure. To me, though, it's all about the building. I wanted a smoothly running game where I could build all the brick houses I wanted.
