What is Son?
Son is the Beta version of upcoming roleplay server known as Epoch.
What does Son offer that other servers do not offer?
Quite a lot.
For one we offer an interesting lore and being only a Beta server, we fortunately have a time limit. Therefore, our server has an objective, to be sitting on Son's emerald throne by the end of the server. Quite possible to do as there is now no definite king of the land with the old king, Theodulf Dazim, going missing upon an expedition of hell.
We are big on role-playing, but we like to do it alongside the features of minecraft and not try to split gathering resources and roleplaying. We ask you to always remember your ig character and your ic character are the same person; they are not separate. Please use lore appropiate skins and do not do things out of character within the game (If your character is a peasant, stay out of the emperor's throne room)
Then there is the community. We are proud to have a strong application system that is not very hard for the applicants, but still allows us to determine their maturity and roleplaying ability.
Oh and then there are the custom plugins.
Custom plugins?
We have a rather interesting set of plugins. Let's just briefly go through all of them.
Our most simple one is our Financials plugin. Rather simple chest shops and locks. Also there are taxes for each of the shops. Nothing that special here.
Next there is our Nether survival plugin. Live off of only the items found within the Nether. Make glowstone sticks, glowstone tools, nether brick tools, quartz tools, quartz weapons, crafting tables, chests, nether brick furnaces, soul glass and much more.
Intriguing eh? What if I also told you we have a weapons plugin that adds more balance to the game's fighting with the addition of javelins, slings, spears, pikes, maces, battle axes, flails, knives, bandages, and shields? Fulfill the lives of soldiers and generals with new strategies and tactics available from the pros and cons of the server's weapons.
In addition we have a very well balanced trades plugin that allows the players to gather resources while still in character. Trades were a huge part of people's lives in real life, so we ask that you remember the trade of your character is part of them. Don't try to separate it from roleplaying, use it to enhance it.
The trades also create societies of players dependent on each other and prevents one man nations randomly in the woods. This is rather great in that players are naturally drawn to each other. It is also interesting because it adds a good deal more to running a nation and allows economy to actually be a fun part of the server.
This server has many interesting features to offer including:
-Custom weapons (pikes, slings, javelins, ect.) all craft-able within the game
-Custom terrain maps
-The ability to survive solely on items found within the Nether (create awesome things such as GlowStone Sticks, Netherrack furnaces, and Quartz Swords
-A fully functioning and player driven economy

I suppose that depends on what you mean by maturity. Maturity is an opinion and I do not believe can actually be measured. If you are asking if I am a good person, I believe I am. I am not perverse nor grotesque. I treat others with respect, I'm quite charitable, and I am a very social person. Also unlike the majority of my generation, I do not believe anything is owed to me, but that everything is gained through hard work. If this is what you mean by mature, then yes I am.
8. Anything you think we should know?
I am a bukkit plugin developer and can hopefully help you guys if you ever need a specific plugin. (Not too massive a task though as I am again very busy)

Maybe the same way you changed your inventory key from the Minecraft default "E" to your user defined "I" when you started playing Minecraft.
Maybe you will have to edit the file "smart_moving_options.txt" - look out for the option "move.speed.decrease.default.key.name".
I didn't change my key. I've had minecraft since alpha and therefore my control is set to I and has never been changed. I never defined my keys. They are simply the default from when I bought the game. By the way, your mod does not add the feature to change the increase speed hotkeys in the controls.
Editing the smart_moving_option.txt did in fact work though. My apologies, but few mods I use have something that easy, so I did not expect to see something like that.

I would like to be a blacksmith or a miner. I always enjoy working with ores. Always one of the best money makers on servers.
Have you ever been banned from a server?
One time when someone griefed my house. Instead of telling the admins, I took matters into my own hands and burned his, so we both got banned. Keep in mind I was only 12 at the time and now know that any injustices I suffer should be immediately reported to the moderators.
What position are you applying for?
Just a player and tester. I'm not really the type to want to moderate servers. I'd rather be a player if I can help it, but if you ever need a trustworthy moderator I can fill the position.

I have a lot of experience in minecraft. I have beaten the game before all the way through on hardcore (I killed the Ender Dragon and a Wither on hardcore) I still love the game, but usually I have to mod it to make it more difficult for me. This server seems like the perfect challenge to test my skills. I'm ready. 3. How long do you think you will survive on your first night?

I'm going to guess pvp.
Well, I'm kind of sick reading through this forum and seeing people complaining about their problems and blaming you as a mod maker for what is almost always their own careless mistakes.
Personally, this is without a doubt one of my favorite mods. I am glad and very appreciative that you decided to continue it. You sir are freaking awesome.

I didn't change my key. I've had minecraft since alpha and therefore my control is set to I and has never been changed. I never defined my keys. They are simply the default from when I bought the game. By the way, your mod does not add the feature to change the increase speed hotkeys in the controls.
