    Can you even imagine how many months of work do forge or modloader have? Well this is even more complex because theywant to extend it to all possible variables out there. This kind of thing, just as a theory, takes years. Don't expect it to simply be out because they wont release anything without it being as perfect and useful as they can make it

    After messing around with this, this appears to be true as well. The big difference is the entities aren't rendered beyond a certain distance, and thus reduces client lag. Having 1,000 entities above y:1 lags my game nice and hard, but dropping them all into the void removes that lag.

    The entities will keep falling, however. The entity count on the F3 screen remains at 1,000 total (looking in the direction they fall, the count is 0), even when re-loading the world. Confirmed by checking the entities in an NBT editor; one of them made it to Y:-25,000. This seems to be a fairly large oversight with the Invulnerable tag. The void surely would be the best way to deal damage as a last resort.

    Unfortunately the wiki is down, so the bit about the void killing them can't be fixed.
    you can always use Google caché: http://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:MJxH2Rqhv4kJ:www.minecraftwiki.net/wiki/The_Void &cd=1&hl=es-419&ct=clnk

    Actually void doesn't damage it either, it just falls into the nothing trapped down there forever

    posted a message on Removal of spawning via Item IDs?
    I think basically this is only a problem for lazy people. Why? Because for me it is a way better method, people won't need to be constantly checking a useless data value list, losing time they can use for something better, they can just know how to summon any block anywhere.

    But lazy people has to work to redo the maps and that seems to be too hard, seriously dude, if you need more than 3 seconds to write "record_mellohi" (for example), you need more practice. I think this is a really good improvement to make our map-making life way easier and faster, if you know what you're doing, believe me, you will get used pretty fast.

    Basing data on numbers is not practical, because learning every single one of them takes a very long time and you won't always remember all of them, so you have to look in a data value list, which makes you lose more time, but we already know how the blocks are called just because we play the game.

    Meh... I hope they remove the invisible walls D;

    I miss literally infinite worlds.
    Yes, I understand that the worlds are still super big however it takes away from the "infinite" aspect of Minecraft which makes it such a unique game.
    Well just think of it as infinite and problem solved, because there's no way for anyone to use all the world, and actually, without cheating you probably would take weeks to get to that wall, so just play in survival mode and trick's done, there's no need for more than that, considering there was nothing after that, just empty space

    Roses are completely unnecessary, period.

    I think it's time to stop it already with the several threads about roses made every day, they're gone, and it couldn't be less important because there's nothing useful on them, and the replacement looks way better.

    Really interesting, it's a very good way to show how to do stuff with command blocks, it would be cool if you add more things like this, with even more examples :)

    Well so far I really like what I see, too bad Mesa biome is bugged for so many people. Also super secret settings? hmmm I'm curious, I hope it's not some lame useless thing, and I hope they finish it that soon so we can finally know what it is. And I hope we can craft packed ice with 4 or 9 normal ice blocks, 'cause having them only in a very rare biome would be awful on servers.

    To bad it isn't possible to decode the game to see what those settings are though lol ('cause there's no mcp and all that), but who knows, maybe even if it was possible, they didn't add anything of it to the snapshots yet just in case (except for the button).
