    First of all, it's a pre-release, second of all, people is always complaining about how long do they take to update the game, and now a lot of people is complaining about releasing them too soon. Seriously guys, why don't you keep your opinions and make this forum better. There's no reason for this kind of threads, they have no use at all. If you have so much free time, play the game and report bugs, who cares if it's too soon or too late to release something, that's not important.

If you really like sandbox, then stop complaining and start playing. none of the new things added to the game make it "less sandbox", since, as here Krova says, they're not mandatory.

    I don't think Notch actually cares about community being happy, but about people still playing the game. He probably won't stop updating it just because people complains, no one would, that's a stupid reason to leave such a game. But if some day people stops playing it, then that would be a real reason to leave it.

    Well, since 1.9 pre-release is comming out, there is no need for it. And as we know, it's not the same, 'cause changing version number from 1.8 to 1.9 means it actually has new things from the next version, but changing it from 1.8.1 to 1.8.2 would mean mostly minimal bug fixes.

    So basically, 1.8.2 will never exist.

    Let's see, multiply game price by game sales, then take away expenses (food, drinks, cigars (while they work)), publicity, domains and server costs, equips, taxes, etc, and then divide it by all people working in Mojang. To be frank, I don't think it's THAT much money :/
