I don't understand how people always manages to lose their beds. You really should place them in a better place, like a second floor or something, it's not that hard to think a little about it :/

Are you kidding? why do you need that? there are probably 10 new textures at most, and 9 of them are obvious :/ you really should figure it out by yourself, and while on it, you will get some practice identifying colors.

To make it simply, your reason to quite: You're a child. Your reason to come back: You're a child. That's true like for 90% of the people who leaves and then comes back. It's like the saying "He who leaves without being kicked out, comes back without being called".

Eventually people grows up and stops leaving like an angry kid, or just never comes back and starts doing something useful with his/her life.

Well that's obvious, they are running out of time. Game was announced for a full release in november, that means they have to finish adventure update as fast as they possibly can.

posted a message on They should have minecraft game cards
Well you don't really need a credit card, since they accept paypal, where you can add funds from several sources, but it doesn't look like a bad idea. Problem is that kind of things usually fill forums with threads like "how can I get a game card in X country" because it's usually a very limited purchase system.

posted a message on Will Skyrim kill minecraft?
You know, this is basically yet another complain thread, you just added the word "skyrim" here and there, but it's the same we've been seeing all week, threads telling how "incomplete and bugged" the game is.

In other words, there is no reason for this, because Minecraft and Skyrim are completely different kind of games with completely different goals too. Skyrim is a very limited game, where you have to live in a set world, doing specific quests and following a main story, which means it will eventually come to an end, even with extra content. In Minecraft, you decide your goal, and when you finish, you can simply look for a different one, there is no limit.

While Skyrim's main story is said to last for like 20-30 hours, Minecraft can last simply forever, with news every month, mods, etc, there's just no end for it. So even people who plays skyrim will eventually get bored or complete it, but in Minecraft, the only reason you'd stop playing is because you are bored or you don't have imagination, but not because you finished it.

And simply to be fair, don't compare a beta game developed by an independant company with maybe 5 to 10 people working, with a mayor developement made by a company with 350+ people with a really high budget right from the start. But let me be clear of what I think for every one of those things you've said:

    11/11/11
Full version to be released doesn't mean the game is "complete", it's just not the same. Their idea is to add all adventure updates and then, solve mayor bugs and problems, and then it will be able to be released. Obviously like a lot of other games nowadays, it will get patches with more fixes because you NEVER finish solving bugs in a game, that's a well-known fact.

    Incomplete features:
This was simply nonsenses, I don't even know if I should waste time replying it, because you obviously don't know what a beta is :/ you speak as if only full released versions were tested for bugs, but beta EXISTS precisely for bug testing, to avoid releasing a game full of problems.

    Villagers:
Nothing to say, they were just added, not like they are even started, right now we know it's just something to fill up the villages but they won't be useful in this version, that's a fact.

    Optimization:
Of course it's not optimized, it's a beta, and biome generation code is constantly changed, they won't waste time optimizing the game EVERY TIME they change that code, it is simply better to keep it quite playable, and when they finish all the basic biomes they want for the full release, then start working in the optimization. They will have to, you know that, because otherwise they'd lose a lot of people, but remenber, is is a TESTING PHASE.

    Longevity:
If you don't have ideas, that's your problem, most people have them or simply ask for them here in the forums. Some people is SO proud if their vanilla edition that they say NO to mods even when some of them may add a a whole lot of new features to the game and make it last longer. There is not time limit for minecraft gameplay, it depends on you, and how lazy or not you are.

    Skyrim:
Of course not, because skyrim would last for more than 1 or 2 weeks for an experienced player. I have friends that will probably end the main "30 hours quest" in like 10 days at most. Unless you play REALLY slow, yeah, minecraft will be almost the same when you come back. You simply will get bored of it too eventually.

    Final thoughts
So, in the end, minecraft is not the problem, the problem is actually you. You don't seem to really like this kind of games, and you're not patient enough for a beta game, you should keep playing finished games, and when you have developed enough patience, then try again to participate in a beta, now you DO know what it is, you will be able to decide next time if you want to give it a try, but it was obviously too soon for you, and for a lot of other unexperienced players, that just happens, nothing to feel bad about it.

That would be great! that way Mojang would know exactly which sub-forum to ignore, so they don't have to read all the nonsenses people says :biggrin.gif:

Anyway, there's no reason for it, people does not respect sub-forums, they post mods in 1.9 section, they post suggestions in survival section, they just don't care.

posted a message on Dear Mojang, stop adding pointless things
    Quote from Kanye_Weast

Why does Mojang insist on adding little details on to an unfinished product? Honestly, Mooshrooms and their whole little biome are utterly useless, and don't contribute to Minecraft at all. Why not add some game changing stuff, like new ores, and mobs that are ACTUALLY scary as hell. Maybe fix Endermen before they take the time to make useless Mooshrooms.

I'm sick of this, they need to start focusing on what's important in this game, not the details.

It's like putting furniture in your new house before changing the rotted floor. It's pointless and will eventually get in the way when you're trying to finish.

They keep adding things that should be polish, that should be added once the game is bug free and essentially done, but instead of working on the foundation for this game, they make a new pointless stupid cow. 1.9 pre-release has been a big fail so far, and I'm not sure the actual 1.9 update will be much better. It's already been split into 1.9 and 1.10.

You obviously know NOTHING about game design. If you think you can simply correct all the bugs and then start adding things, then sorry but you really don't belong to gaming world. Every new thing they create, also adds new bugs, there's no reason to solve EVERY bug before the game is actually released. They want to add almost everything the final version will have, and THEN solve all the bugs. That's how creating a videogame works. There is no reason to solve a bug that will probably appear again (and even worst) when you add something new.

You are talking about "working on the foundation for this game", but there is no such a thing, because this is a beta, they still have to finish the bases for the game, and then, correct all the problems.

posted a message on Hardcore Mode
    Quote from Rikaelus

This thread is kind of giving me a sad realization.

I've seen the epic creations people have built, I love to build, and everyone from my gaming community that played on my SMP server did more building than anything else. I thought Minecraft being a creative outlet was the norm, but this and other recent discussions makes it seem like most people just want another adventure RPG. Which honestly confuses me since there are games much better focused to that end.

And I certainly don't mind Minecraft adopting more mechanics to that end, but I do really wish Notch would separate that from what Survival Mode was prior to 1.8. The more mechanics put in the game for a specifically adventuring environment, the more it will change the environment from what I've grown to love in a building environment: resource gathering with very simple NPC interactions.

    Ho hum.
And exactly how isn't that way now? you still have to gather resources, and NPC interactions won't be "wow that's so amazing", and anyway, you can even disable villages when you create a map, and you don't even have to play hardcore. In other words, all the stuff they've been adding changes almost nothing on this game's main mechanics.
