This was an amazing read! I honestly hope everyone reads this! Just thought I'd give you props for writing a couple paragraphs that are actually worth reading :biggrin.gif:
If Minecraft had an official press secretary position, you sir would have my vote.
Well, my goal is to be a professional writer, if I can't do something as simple as this, I'd have no future on that lol though I'm not planning to write in english, since it's not my native language, so it's quite complicated to write something like this in a languague I'm still learning.
Sorry but your PC isn't good enough to use frams, which, in fact, uses a lot more resources than some other common options like camtasia studio.
And by the way speedtest is for internet speed, it isn't related with how good or not is your PC. You probably need a quad core with 4gb+ ram and a pretty decent video card to be able to record without lag using fraps.
I don't hate restarting worlds, in fact I love starting all over, it makes it really fun to be in a new world playing just like the first time.
And anyway, nowadays no one is forced to restart worlds, since you can still get new map changes in every unexplored chunks left. Those who don't want to restart should be patient and wait (at least) for November 18th's full release.
For example, since I do have common sense, I decided not to start any huge project (like a city or so) until beta ends and they finish adding these huge changes to world generation code. After full release they probably won't change that code so much for a while.
You could say that about something posted 3 days ago. Anything can change at any time for any reason.
Point being Notch legally promised Alpha testers if any future expansions or DLC is ever released they get it free.
Beta testers get nothing but the game they paid for and bug fixes due to his lawyers not wanting him to lose money.
Legally promised them to get that for free, but he didn't "legally promised" beta players they would have to pay for that content. And as I said, he would have to completely block mods for beta players, or that would be impossible. If you just can't think hard enough to understand it, at least use your common sense (if you have one).
Frankly, information posted almost 1 year ago, when Beta wasn't even released, is useless right now. A LOT of things have changed, and the community and modding isn't the same it was in 2010, if you don't have a confirmation that this will still be the same, but posted after July 2011, then it means nothing.
To answer OP's question, yes, Beta players will have to pay for future DLC. Only people who bought Minecraft in Alpha or earlier will get everything free.
For everyone who doesn't know, after the final release, there are plans to add DLC. What it will be remains to be seen, but it will most likely be additional game modes (Zombie apocalypse for example. Build during the day, fight off wall destroying zombies at night) and things like that.
Think of it as a way for Mojang to thank people who supported them before Minecraft became so well know.
Just and advice, don't come saying things as if they were true, because there is no way you can confirm that.
And as I always say, this is stupid, they can't do paid DLC unless they remove modding, because people can always make mods to add the new things to the game for free.
Yeah, and if you are a beta user, you won't be able to use mods anymore. Otherwise, people would make mods with that new DLC content and beta players would be able to play it for free.
Dear god, I can't believe all the nonsenses we have to read in this topic.
First of all, 1.10 IS NOT the full game release, 1.10 is still beta, that's why it has that number. 1.9 > 1.10, simple logic.
Full release is 1.0, which is not beta and it's the usual number for the first version of a game (beta doesn't count as real versions)
Code freeze, then fixes = They will add all the big stuff left for adventure update, then freeze the code and stop adding things to be able to fix everything for the full release. Then, they will eventually update the game with new content. It doesn't mean that when game is released, we won't see any new stuff again.
Please, if you don't have a clue about what you're saying, just DON'T POST!
If you don't like it, don't play, but please don't post all this kind of nonsenses, we have enough of them already. If you think you can make a game by yourself which is better than this, then do it :smile.gif:
100% legit? there are at least 2 things that make this non-legit, one of them is inventory tweaks, we all know what it can do besides organizing, the other one is the seconds screen, which shows an obviously worldedit modified map and an almost 90% probable SPC modified inventory.
Legit means you do all the work. An infinite supply of materials or tools isn't legit at all.
That is illegal being that 99% of mods have licenses making it illegal to distribute their products.
That would be in violation of their contracts and lead to MANY lawsuits...
You're wrong, he isn't talking about selling the mods, he's talking about selling a service, which no one owns. You can get the mods for free and ask him to install them for you for a fee, that's not against any kind of license.
Advice: Use forum search or at least your eyes before you post.
Reason: So you don't post nonsenses like "OMG no more survival? that's so bad" when we all already know that what he meant was that it won't be the same thing it was. And anyway, adventure is way better than survival, which actually has no reason to exist because the only uses it has is to try stuff and unlock achievements but it has no real reason to be played since there are no goals on it except for surviving which is way too easy.
