Sep 6, 2011DanMan81 posted a message on Mojang Releases Trailer For Minecraft 1.8I hope it comes out soon. The only thing that has been keeping me to singleplayer Minecraft so far has been mods. Hopefully Mojang stop spinning around on their chairs and planning Quake 4 matches long enough to release the actual update rather than just a trailer.Posted in: News

Where did you heard about KoL?: I was looking through the lists of clans on the Minecraft forums.
Why do you want to join KoL?: Because it looks like an interesting group of people, and I would love to join it.
What are your talents in Minecraft: Not very specialised, but I don't mind doing most things. I would just like to help out in any way I can.
By filling out this application, I hearby pledge compliance of KoL's laws.- Indeed I do.

Endermen spawn on all difficulties other than peaceful. Or at the very least, they also spawn on normal.

He made his own opinion, so we shouldn't merely diss it as a 'complaining thread'. Speaking of opinions, I like the silly direction that MC is taking, it would make it new and stand out much more from the crowd.

Nah, I don't mind you saying that about Herobrine, but I see what you mean. I was meaning something more scary looking, something that would freak people out when they see it. I dunno, just some thoughts.
And that's a great idea for the statues, that encourages people to not take their eyes off the statue as they retreat to safety.
EDIT: Last line, provided the statues act like the ones from Dr Who. If not, then the player just has to run like ****.

Following this thread so badly.
The only problem really with this idea is the sounds, as I never play MineCraft with the sound on. Not because I'm a wuss, but it's because I like to play my own music while playing the game. But the Nun mob sounds scary as **** regardless. I'm not saying there shouldn't be scary sounds, I'm just saying that I probably won't be using them. I'm no coder, but I can give you some ideas and/or morale support.
Two ideas I had (slightly ripped off from places) is a hostile mob and a passive (but still frightening) mob.
Hostile:
Based off the Weeping Angels from Dr Who, or the fellas from this video.
Basically, they would look like statues or something, and would stand around not doing anything. They would look harmless, but when your back is turned they would advance closer too you. Look back, and they would have moved. When they get close enough to you, they would suddenly look much more horrifying as it rears to attack you. (Like Weeping Angels)
Passive: I was playing F.E.A.R 2 one day, and there was this level where you go through some ruined subway maintenance tunnel, but there is a section where there is no enemies for a few minutes, making it more and more creepy and tense. First playthrough of that section I just went through cautiously, but found nothing. Second playthrough and it was same-old same-old, but I came to a corner and I thought "Hmm, maybe something has been following me this time." Casually turned around, and this thing was on the floor staring at me, massive teeth smiling horribly. It was a split second, but I just remember it was scary as all hell. I shot my gun at it, but it dissapeared almost as soon as I opened fire.
Basically, the point is that the mob should be something that cannot harm the player, nor can the player actually harm it. It would appear in the corner of the players view, and would dissapear a second or two after being seen.
Summing it up, random ideas, support for the mod and I wish you all the very best.

C. Will you survive your first night?: Maybe not, but only one way to find out!
D. What's your least favorite way to die?: Her least favourite way to die is being blown up by a creeper at sunrise.

B. Why do you want to join?: Because this server looks really interesting and fun.
C. Will you survive your first night?: Only one way to find out...
D. What's your least favorite way to die?: Exploring caves, and falling through a small gap that you didn't see, into a pit of darkness. Then getting eaten. Or blown up.

I apologize for double posting, but I just realised this.
This statement is technically true, as Minecraft has not truely been released yet, and it is still in Beta testing phases. The other two games are fully released games, so they count as coming out before Minecraft.

If you are saying Terraria is a rip-off of Minecraft, you are mistaken. The only things that the two games have in common with on another is the block-based, randomly generated world, and the fact that they are both sandbox games.
