posted a message on Minecraft is getting destroyed and screwed
They are never going to take Minecraft back to beta or alpha like you and other people want. A lot of stuff you listed doesn't even affect the game, and it's basically a list of stuff added after beta. If you don't like it downgrade. McNostalgia was created for a reason, and it's for people like you that hate change.

I'm not trying to be a jerk, but it won't happen.

posted a message on Strongholds suck
After finding a stronghold a few times, I stopped looking for them. It takes forever to get enough eyes of ender to find one, and when you do it's chopped up by caves and most of all, ravines. The loot really isn't anything special but diamonds and all those books are pretty nice.

They could use some more spawners and even traps. You go in there with 64 torches and iron armor, you have nothing to worry about. It could be the best generated structure in the game, they just need to fix the generation. Make it FEEL like I'm finding an immense abandoned stronghold.

So you're saying it's not your computer, because you checked and updated everything. It's not your Minecraft, because it does it in all versions and even with Optifine. What exactly are you looking for here?

posted a message on Survival Isn't Survival
Minecraft survival is too easy. Some might say, "Minecraft is about building" but that's more what creative is for. Even when I play on hard I can manage to not even get hurt before I craft armor, and at that point I'm basically invincible. Most mods I've looked through don't really add challenge, just more mobs that are just as weak and non-threatening as the originals.

I just wish they would add something to spice up survival, it seems way too easy, even on "hard".

I'm just wondering if it's been updated or if someone knows when it will be. I've never used it before, and I'm pretty anxious to try it.

posted a message on Minecraft Exploration. The adventurous spirit gone?
Personally, that whole "everything after 1.8 is boring" thing seems a little ridiculous, I still find the terrain just as good looking and fun as any previous versions. But when it comes to large cities and towns on servers I usually don't explore them.

posted a message on How to transport a lot of stuff?
Well, you could make a bridge across the ocean. Then just use powered minecarts and storage minecarts, it should do the trick. Plus you don't have to ride along if it ends up still being laggy.

    posted a message on Singleplayer
I'm beginning to understand why people prefer singleplayer to multiplayer. I spent a couple hours building a house on a server, mining, what not. Then I logged in after making something to eat just in time to see someone breaking through the wall and killing me.

I'm not raging, but when I think about it that's a couple hours gone. Wasted. The house has burned along with my progress, I'm back to stone tools and a few porkchops versus diamonds and cake. The only time I lost something in singleplayer is when a creeper exploded or a mob knocked me in lava. I could just build right where I spawn instead of walking thousands of blocks away and building at bedrock just to keep from succumbing to hostile wanderers.

posted a message on Log Placement
I'm building a house, but I can't get the logs to point up and down without being directly below or above the logs I'm placing. Since the walls are made out trees, I can't do it from above. And it's time consuming digging holes and placing from the bottom. Is there a trick to fix this, something I'm missing maybe?

posted a message on My rant on lying servers...
I have a server on my server list that says 1.3 in the motd, but it's outdated.

Honestly at this point I feel it's just laziness that's keeping servers on 1.2.5, I have a few servers that are already running 1.3 with commands, a nice spawn, kits and factions.

But I agree with the false tags, I come across those a lot, and it's really frustrating when you've been looking around for servers awhile.

posted a message on Can't log in to Minecraft
I could log in just fine a few hours ago, was playing on some 1.3 servers and everything. Now all of a sudden it doesn't even load the news on the launcher. I know a lot of people are probably signing in and updating, but you would think they would take that into consideration and take steps to prevent it.

posted a message on Joining servers
This morning I eagerly updated Minecraft to 1.3, and first played singleplayer just to test out everything new. After a while of that, I decided to see if any servers in my server list had updated. Here's the problem: the ones that don't say outdated give me an error message "Internal exception:java.net.SocketException: Connection reset"

Does anyone know what this means and/or how to fix it?

posted a message on What's up with everyone hating 13 year olds?
Mature ones seem rare, and Minecraft has a lot of older players that don't want to or can't relate to 13 year olds. If you're really that mature and confident, then why not just say you're older when you try to get into servers?

posted a message on My opinion on Mincraft's combat
Good ideas, but I doubt they will be implemented. You can already somewhat parry, albeit by luck alone, and Mojang supposedly is working on AI to some extent. People forget that combat isn't the main focus. AI is the most the mobs need, I think changing them any further would be trying to fix something that isn't broken. On normal or hard the mobs get deadly fast if you don't take them into consideration.

Hostile villagers could be implemented, and it would make sense; I just feel like it would be awhile before it was added. If anything, look around for some mods, there's a lot that buff mobs, add mobs, and possibly arm villagers.

posted a message on Why I don't understand Hunger Games servers.
I haven't read the books or seen the movie, and I doubt i'll ever do either. To me it's like another game mode (spleef, capture the flag). I only use the term Hunger Games server so people know what I'm talking about.

Movies are more influential than books nowadays, and most people will talk about seeing a movie before they talk about reading a book.
