    Quote from caHarkness

Everything since the 1.8 Adventure Update, besides things like trip wires and redstone lamps- and of creative mode, of course. Dragons, enchanting, and villagers are terrible, and the only reason I think they exist is because they were rushed ideas and they STILL exist because Notch was afraid of taking them out in fear of making people unhappy.

It was only a matter of time.

I honestly hate gravel. It's such a pain to run into while I'm mining and building, plus if I'm not paying attention it has the potential to kill me. It's ugly, and i think villages would look better with cobblestone path ways instead of gravel. Why not use iron for arrow tips instead? I always have a surplus of iron, and unless I'm building a minecart track it just sits there. It only takes 9 pieces to make the essential tools. Take gravel out and add a better block, like super tall grass that you have to cut through with a sword. That's the end of my rant.

Very good ideas, book writing needs some tweaks to make editing and revising less tedious.

Not at all, it's about time they have some productive updates with decent additions. 1.4 will be amazing as far as I'm concerned, new food, new decoration blocks, the beacon block, controlling pigs, a Nether boss, I could go on. And we haven't even found out what else they are going to add yet. Minecraft is growing, we should be glad Mojang didn't stop updating it after they made a good amount of money.

High end computer eh? I play on a single core laptop I bought for 300 bucks, and I have no problems like these with singleplayer. So don't blame Minecraft and/or the update. If you're interested in downgrading Minecraft to a previous version, McNostalgia is what you're looking for.

So I was playing singleplayer last night, exploring a cave when I came across some diamonds. I mined them and decided it was a good stopping point for the night, saved and logged off.
Today I logged on to my world and noticed the ores were back in the ground, but the diamonds I got from them last night were still in my inventory. For the sake of science, I mined them again, saved and logged off.
Logged back in, all except one ore was there again, every single diamond in my inventory. I repeated the process one more time and the ores were finally gone.

Has this kind of thing happened to anyone else lately?

posted a message on Anybody else feel like nature is kinda of lacking?
    Quote from Delthyn

The key to adding new mobs is for them to provide some use. If you've noticed, every single mob in Minecraft has an important role, and is unique in some way. The only exception to this is the pig, which was made redundant by the cow update. Sure, birds tweeting and chirping would be cool, but unless a "use" was added to them, they probably won't get into the game. Mobs that do nothing are just more lag.

We also have 4 kinds of trees (Pine, Birch, Oak, Jungle), and although we don't have many plants, almost all of them have a use. (Except for bushes and ferns.) Again, new plants would be nice, but they need a use.

I have to agree with Delthyn. I too would love to see more creatures and nature added to Minecraft, but for the most part Mojang doesn'y add anything that doesn't have some kind of use. The next update will have more food and a Nether mob. I doubt they will stop there, we just have to be patient and keep suggesting new things that could be added in the future.

I was exploring the area around my house today and thought it would be useful if you could mark locations on maps. Whether it be dots, arrows, words, whatever it be.

I like the tropical islands and volcanoes idea, I think they both would add a nice touch. Seeds aren't that important. Why generate a world knowing whats gonna be in it when you can generate a random one and explore the unknown.

posted a message on Are pigman ever going to be added?
I like the idea of their villages being in swamps. Their houses could be made out of dirt with very primitive accessories, like no complex house design or farming system, closer to huts than houses. Since there is already a friendly NPC in the game that trades with you, PIgmen could be hostile, whether on sight or just when you get too close or provoke them. With all the stuff Mojang has been adding I wouldn't be surprised if they implemented them in a later update.

posted a message on Buying Diamonds With REAL Cash?
I can't imagine someone paying him to find diamonds, but I can definitely see someone raging or getting jealous on a faction server and having the guy find and destroy someone's base. I've seen people get very angry and competitive on faction servers. I'm sure someone would pay a measly 5-10 bucks to see their enemy rage and cry.
