I've done this, it was in 1.3.2 I think. At the 30,000,000 mark, I placed all sorts of blocks and screen-capped the effects (pistons, torches, and others looked glitched as well). However, one couldn't fly out in singleplayer past 30,000,050 or something as you'd get stuck. That was before the single-multiplayer merge thingy (was that before 1.3.2? I can't remember...). Now, with the merge, you can (as you can see). Previously, you could only do so in multiplayer.
EDIT: Ever been to the b1.7.3 farlands? Those are pretty cool too, but laggy as hell.
I like le spider, because arachniphilia.
I like le sheep, because wool for bed.
I like le dog, because they kill mobs.
I like le iron golem, because they kill mobs.
I like le wither, because it's fun to spawn them in Broville (a city map) and have it or them blow up lots of stuff.
With the bad nooby usename problem, I was playing cracked Minecraft for a while (November 2011 to March 2012) so I knew what username I wanted, but I know a friend who has the stupidest username - even he hates it. So, yeah, being able to change your username would be good.
Books requiring leather was a bit of a frustration, but they are alot more useful now. Just for the hell of it, I made a log of everything I learnt and come across *in that world* about mobs. Then I forgot not to open the world in 1.2.5 and lost it all :|

From Minecraft Wiki.
EDIT: I don't think there's anything you can do about chunks not loading in the Nether when you're in the Overworld.
