    Well wheres the burning?

There is one piece of nethereack on fire two blocks below the portal and one block back. You could either put two blocks of wool in front of the portal like most designs and have it obstruct the walkway and look like crap or you could use lave and a work bench and have it look like crap.

A portal that relights after being blown out by a ghast. The wool is feed from a storage to the surface to be destroyed. This version contains ten wool blocks. Times may vary.

I got this idea after seeing Docm's portal on ep 48. If anybody has done this before (not button/lever/pressure plate activated and is able to withstand hits without damage) please let me know.

Sorry, are you talking about yourself? What are your statements based on? If notch was being serious about this, there would be more clariification from him or mojang. Surprisingly, they are not elaborating any further which leads me to think that it might be a joke, given that yogscast is taking quite awhile to respond and notch/mojang keeping quiet about it.
Clearly you have an inflexible mind, capable of looking at things from one point of view and immediately deciding that the choice you picked is the absolute truth(which would mean notch)

Have a great day, hardcore notch fanboy.

Just personal attacks? Can you read?
Also, I was against Notch when it came to Bethesda.

Add a pressure plate that the skeletons step on when in attacking range the piston goes up. Like BLAZE_MkIV said, a low ceiling will cause the skeleton to not fire or fire incorrectly.

I think young kiddies can't accept this. They see notch's post and their minds automatically register it to be absolutely truthful. Haha and yes, if notch reads the forums, it would be the ultimate test to see how "kind" the minecraft community is. It'll be interesting to see the epic fail resulting out of this.

Th only ones that can't "accept this" are the young kiddies like yourself. In denial making statements with nothing to back them up---"lets wait for the other side of the story" really? You have video of the event and Notches side of the story.3

That Reddit post was quite... enlightening to say the least.
If MincraftChick was doing such a poor job, I would have been swearing the whole event, and not in a joke kind of way.

That post is full of excuses. Typical loser blaming someone else. Watch the vidoe of the event--not some douches opinion.

should be posted out here for everyone to see so people won't just take sides and be mad and angry and stuff before it ends

*****Minecraft is an awesome game with awesomely kind community right? Let's SHOW it to the others then******

Why post it if it's a biased article that proves nothing? Try watching actual video and audio.

    Quote from Crunkatog

The bit in the Reddit post about the organizational aspects falling through and getting changed around sort of resonates with me. I've seen gamer friends IRL start companies, open shops, etc. with no further administrative planning than "hey Joe, you're a nice guy and good with people. Why don't you be our PR department?"

Instead of looking into professional event services and planners, they might hire a friend or dragoon a girlfriend into being the gofer. This is a mistake. They should hire a professional.

And they should be careful which professional service they hire. One based in the US would be best, but perhaps it's easier for them to communicate with someone closer to home. The wrong service might lead them to expect smooth sailing, but let things fall apart at the last moment.

It's really too bad all this had to come up at the inaugural Minecon. Now most people who looked forward to celebrating Minecraft's debut will come away with a bad taste in their mouths. Miscommunication, poor organization, inappropriate language, venal decision-making, lack of professionalism, personality and ego clashes, backbiting, etc.

I can't really take anyone's side, because I'm equally appalled and surprised at the alleged behaviour of all sides. At the end of the day though, I'm going to be playing Minecraft whether or not this gets sorted out in a professional way, or merely scabs over, waiting and festering to erupt again.

Yogcast was given a panel--they had no part in creating minecraft. What was their purpose other than running a panel(which they couldn't even do) and signing autographs for their fans?

Basing a opinion on only half the facts is what fools do, without any conclusive data and response from both party's, no ones opinion is right. Whats even worse is the people choosing sides from witnessing such videos with out knowing all the facts.
Edit: btw is your name a reference to the elder scrolls oblivion O:?

So either Notch is wrong or this is a joke. Why are they stalling?

I started using the name after playing Morrowind. I don't like Oblivion as much as Morrowind.

again 7 minutes in as a example he gives options based on his opinions and uses "i think" through out the video

Is that all you can post? The audio and video of minecon + Notches tweets are enough for anyone to form their own opinion.

That was the most pointless 23 minutes of my life. He pointed out everything we already know, and to top it off its mainly his opinion not the actual story : :mellow.gif:

7 Minutes in: completely wrong that gesture of that nod doesn't at all mean what that idiot said. Who ever made this video needs to be shot.

QQ How is the video and audio his opinion?
    Try watching it before posting.

No. It was a community convention and Mojang blatantly made money out of it.

The Yogscast aren't even claiming to have introduced Minecraft to the world, but I don't know why everyone is denying that they've had Minecraft videos on the front page of Youtube for the entirety of this year. Yogscast was around before Minecraft and when it dies due to Notch's inability to run a company to store everyone's data on a server the Yogscast will continue to exist.

It really annoys me when these Notch fanboys think they're cool by hating on people they have 'never heard of', despite being on the front page of youtube for the whole of this year, and agreeing completely with Notch even though he hasn't even made an official statement. It's pathetic, it's childish, it undermines Notch's claim that Minecraft 'is about friendship and kindness' all I've seen on this forum is hate, biased hate based on vague tweets and what some random thought they saw/heard at MineCon.

Notch has a CEO. Get an adult to explain it to you.

Youll notice that I made a point of saying "If this is true". Yanked around may not, and likely does not, imply the panel time. If you thought into it you would realize that there are a great many other things that have to be done when at a convention, not just a panel.

In terms of money, perhaps I was being a little too emphatic over being forced, but if you read the entire post and didnt simply stop at the first thing you could argue with, you would have seen just how much it must have cost them. Only two tickets were free, IF they got a booth. 8 people went. IF they didnt have a booth, then it was 800 dollars. If they DID have a booth, then it would have been around 1600. Now think about how much room and board was. The cheapest hotels in Vegas are not exactly cheap. I dont know where they stayed, but when my father stayed there for three nights in a cheap hotel, it cost him 200 dollars a night. So, if there were 8 people for three days, thats yes another 4800 dollars. Also, think of the plane tickets as well. I flew from my current state back to my home state, and it took me 200 dollars, three months in advance. Depending on when they bought their tickets, thats another 1600, or more.

So, right off the bat, they could have paid anything from between 7400 dollars to 8000 dollars, and thats going on the low side. Thats a lot of money to spend just to have yourself yanked around by a woman who doesnt know what shes doing, and to be forced by IGN to not actually discuss minecraft on video, under what I assume was risk of lawsuit, and god only know how much that might have cost them.

I dont know about you, but if that were the case, I think I would have good reason to be pissed off about that.

I read the whole thing-they decided to go.

"If you thought into it you would realize that there are a great many other things that have to be done when at a convention, not just a panel."

What are these other things? Between my degree and work I don't have the time or money to go to conventions.

You should check out hotel prices before basing your figures on you dads--If he paid that much a night for a cheap hotel then he got ripped off.
As for the ign crap--it's Mojangs game and their contracts.
