You obviously see the changes, the numbers 1 2 3 with the experience orb getting bigger. If you hover over the tiles you will get like a preview of the enchantment you get. As you can see, I hovered over the most expensive tile and it showed Unbreaking III with a question mark indicating that there is more. I like this a lot, it gives you a glimpse of what you'll get but still keeping that hidden surprise with the question mark. -

Oct 31, 2013D_FireBird posted a message on Saturday with Sach: Today, Halloween; Tomorrow, MineconI wont be going to Minecon but I wish I could! Hope everyone enjoys their time.Posted in: News
As for scariest experience, well there's a lot to be honest. I have agoraphobia, which is the fear of public places, opened areas, crowds, etc. So going to minecon, ironically would be my scariest experience. Anyways, I get really nervous and tend to have panic attacks when going to public places such as malls, amusement parks or even walking on a main street so i tend to stay home a lot. -
Oct 23, 2013D_FireBird posted a message on 1.7 Pre-Release: "The Update That Changed the World"I was really disappointing to see that the time-lapse feature was taken out from 1.7Posted in: News
Few snapshots ago, when you paused minecraft (single player only) the game will pause but when you un-paused, it would show a time-lapse of what happened during the time paused. I remember it saying that the feature was really a bug/glitch but it was so cool. I wonder if they would put an option to turn that on or not. Anyways, I'm doing my first survival session and it feels like I'm playing minecraft with mods on! Feels great -
Oct 23, 2013D_FireBird posted a message on 1.7 Pre-Release: "The Update That Changed the World"The title for this is amazing hahaha. Very excited for 1.7, probably the most excited I've been in awhile for an update. So many new things to experience but what I was wondering is how survival servers will be impacted. I don't know how updating servers are and stuff but with the new biomes being added to the game, will old survival servers be able to experience these new features?Posted in: News

I think the reason Mojang is giving us all these meaningless/small Snapshots is because they're working on something huge behind the scenes. They're just giving us these small updates so we don't get suspicious...Perhaps they're working on the Red Dragon, since no one figured out what the meaning of that dragon egg was in that one Snapshot, maybe it was just a hint on what they were working on. They might also be working on something huge for biomes/world generation....ya know, what the name of this update is! The last several Snapshots have had nothing to do with what the whole update is supposed to be.
To you these snapshots are considered small and meaningless, to others like myself, its amazing. So many things were added, I don't know its like quality over quantity. It seems for the most part, its both, what more do you want? I think Mojang did a great job on this snapshot and all the previous ones. Though there might be bugs and small useless features (sunflowers, only one I can think of) the rest of it is great. -

I believe the new flowers were added in the very first 1.7 snapshot they're all so amazing! -

I don't think they would make red glass from the new red sand. Red sand was added most likely to resemble the real red sands that you would find in Wyoming or red sand beaches. I don't mean they wanted to add realism but it's just another form of a biome. I'm sure they wouldn't just give us one colored glass option, that would ridiculous. I do want colored glass though, but I think they should use regular sand and use the dye idea. -

First silverfish now bats. I'm guessing it's a glitch, but it does look pretty cool on the frame -

Is anyone else having an issue with hostile mobs not attacking? (Silver Skeleton, Big Cats, etc). I'm playing with several mods though I'm not sure if any of them are causing this issue for me. They only attack if I initiate combat but other than that they stay passive and ignore me.

How long have you played minecraft?: Started around Beta 1.2
Preferred name/nickname if any: FB/FireBird
Have you ever been banned on a server before? If so, 1:why? 2:were you able to resolve it?: I don't think i ever got ban, I don't really play on servers other than those made by friends.
Why do you want to be a part of this server?: Decided I should try play with other players besides my own friends, I really only played on one other server before so I feel like I should expand.
Do you have skype?(This will not effect your application): I do
Do you specialize in anything?(Redstone, building, etc): I like building compact houses/builds, not really a fan of BIG builds and such. I also make a pretty mean alchemist :]
How active can you be?: I can be quite active depends on how this server things goes but I'm hoping I can enjoy my time and play a lot.
Do you agree to the rules?: It would be foolish to not agree with the rules. (Yes)
Do you like to build by yourself or with others? I like building alone but adventuring is always better with others but mostly alone. Still up for meeting new players though.

I wouldn't say Minecraft is "kid's game" it's for everyone really. You stated yourself that even grown up play it so it can't be labeled just a kid's game. Then again I never understood the requirements a game needs to be considered just a "kid's game" (besides the usual blood, language, etc.)
To answer the OP's question, I don't see how you can get embarrassed for playing Minecraft. To be honest at this point if you're in your early to late teens and haven't seen or even heard of Minecraft, I would say that's hard to believe haha.
On another note; What does Minecraft have specifically that makes it only a kid's game. This is just a question for not only Minecraft but for any other game that are said to be a kid's game but played by all ages. I personally think a kid's game is considered a game that is only played by kids and is considered weird if a person of older age plays it. It's kinda hard to talk about this type of thing because there are tons of people who play Minecraft from young to old and it's been like that for several years.

For a biome I would like to see something unique. Though I don't know if someone else has ever mentioned this but what about a crater biome! It can be really rare, and it wouldn't be like any old hole in the ground forming a valley, I mean like an actual crater caused by a meteorite or something. Sounds a little crazy but it could also implement the use of space rocks and what not. Just an idea I had at the top of my head. Any how, I would love to see something like that, a little mysterious and fascinating thing to encounter on your minecraft journey.

1. Look around to get a feel of your spawn (In some cases I do restart to make another new world if I spawn on an Island)
2. Quickly gather about 30-40 logs
3. Make a workbench then 1 wooden pick
4. Find the nearest cave or source of stone and grab as much as possible with the wooden pick
5. From there I'll make stone tools (Instead of making wooden tools)
6. If I was able to do the steps above before night I would either gather food, get more cobble, or find sheep for wool.
7. When it does get night I build a simple cube house.
8. During the night I usually don't go to sleep right away (sometimes I might not even have wool by then) I use this time to make a furnace to cook meat or built other essentials for the upcoming morning.
9. When it's morning again, I quickly jump into action to mine for resources or hunt for meat or wool.
10. Finally I gather basically the needed materials to make a bed and more tools then I advance from there.
I might of missed some minor details but this is basically how I start a new world. Might seem like a lot but I think a day and a half is alright to get started in a new world. Maybe if you are reading this, you can try this way as well!

Anyhow, I think playing with others in survival with no mods (or with mods if you really prefer) and no plugins, is the best way to go.
