Erm the title says SSP/SMP
But where'the server download link?
Erm.. its a universal mod? Ie: Same download works for both client and server. It has been that way since MC1.3.2. Where have you been?

Thanks for clarifying DV8!

It's very bad, because mod without bukkit version is completely useless for lots of people. Almost every multiplayer sever is based on bukkit.
No. You are quite wrong. MOST mods DO NOT have ports. Trust me, I should know. I work at MC Port Central, I know how this works. Mods are still played just as much without bukkit ports. Having a bukkit port just allows for easier convience.
Is there a big difference between 1.4.2 and 1.4.5 version? Is it impossible to release TaZ for 1.4.2 in a manner?
NO, the versions we were using for 1.4.2 are VERY VERY outdated in comparison to the dev version released for 1.4.2
And.. having a bukkit version of mod will cause very positively to mod development. You don't want to lose many TaZ users, because of disappointing them, do you?
Those who really want the mod will do what they need to play with it.
In addition, im not here to make people feel good, if people are disappointed, let them be. It's an easy choice, either use the mod or don't.
In changelog it's written:
It's suggesting that mod is compatible with 1.4.2 client. So why can't it by compatible with bukkit?
No, its not suggesting anything, you are only reading into it to fit your needs/wants. The changelog is providing a history of what has occurred between the last release, which was 1.3.2, and the current dev release, which is for 1.4.5. That in no way means it is backward compatible with a version it went through.

I can tell you, as of now, I do not believe the MCPC Bukkit build will be update past 1.4.2.
Read this statement well.
MCPC Bukkit builds will mostlikely not be updated past 1.4.5.

I think it is unlikely to port it to Bukkit at the moment, Yes, bukkit is big, but mostly at 1.2.5 there hasn't been much buttkit mod development since. I do agree that bukkit plugins make the game better but i heard forge is going to implement plugins as well. Many hate forge because of how big its becoming but many (as i do) love it, because it helps to seamlessly integrate many mods together. I think the plugin addition to forge is a good thing.
MCPC is moving on to new idea, like moving plugins from bukkit to forge. Once such project is the ForgeEssentials project. It combines permissions, Worldedit/Worldguard and portions of essentials into a mod for Forge. They are also looking to take on LogBlock functionality. They can be found at #ForgeEssentials on Esper.net.
That mod pretty much negates the need for bukkit.

That's great I have a question - are you planning to release only the client and vanilla server verison, or the bukkit version too? If yes, will it be compatible with MCPC for 1.4.2?
Well, I actually work over at MC Port Central. I can tell you, as of now, I do not believe the MCPC Bukkit build will be update past 1.4.2. With that said, we will be releasing for 1.4.5, so I cannot back port the mod to 1.4.2 for a bukkit port. I'm sorry.

Is this going to be updated to 1.4.5 or are they going to wait for 1.5?
1.4.5. Its coming, we are close to a dev build release. (Thanks for your work MrBrutal!)

well updating of the mod is still in progress + i intend to keep spitfire4466 current request of no more rolling stock models will be accepted until further notice.
though thank you for small contribution, however it will be shelved for the moment since con currently the restructuring of the code was just completed.
The restructuring is almost complete. The rewrite of many places... is not near completion. Also, we will have to finish a few features that weren't fully implemented into the mod before spitfire stopped developing.
Dont worry guys. We ARE working on it, we are working as fast as possible.

※this is a one time link which will be removed in a set time.
Just want to put this out there: That is a dev build that is many revisions behind the current code base. I cannot stress how far behind that build is.

Why are you guys using IRC if you are basically not allowing any of the questions that people could have to be asked. There is no point in using it, it's rules are way too restricting.
Edit: I spoke to the guys at the channel. The update has about 40 bugs and they think that users will want to wait for a bug-free version rather than play Trains and Zeppelins Mod now, as well as they feel that releasing a version with bugs will negatively affect their reputation.....First they change the name and now they are too uptight to release an update....I'm gonna talk with a few friends to see if an unofficial update can happen because the way this is going is just too wrong and a disgrace to Spitfire......
If I may interject here:
The mod's name change was presented unto SpitFire. He gave it the ok due to "Trains and Zeppelin mod" being a long and complicated name. It was by his authority that the name was changed. This was not forced, it as something he decided on.
Second, You may read the FULL IRC conversation here: http://pastebin.com/ZdKGdTHL
As I stated, currently I have documented close to 40 bugs. This is before even looking at the bug list on the wiki. These bugs were straight from the developer himself. I've also had other bug reports in the last few days. Many of these bugs are game-breaking bugs. I know from personal use that there are MANY MANY more than 40 bugs, I just have not had the time to document every single bug as of yet.
As I state in the IRC log, I do not like releasing broken products. Yes, it is true, I dont want to release it, but not just because my name is attached to it, but because I respect SpitFire more than to release his mod in such a condition. It would be a disgrace to release the mod, broken as it is, to you users. It would mean that we didnt care about our work, nor SpitFire's, nor how it would negatively effect you all and your worlds.
No, I do not in anyway say that we plan to wait for a bugless release. A dev release will come out before an official release, to gather information on residual bugs. As of current, the mod has is being heavily restructured to provide efficiency and hopefully preventative measures against new bugs. If I gave you the mod as it stands right now, it would not load, and your minecraft would crash.
Now. Besides that, stating that you plan to circumvent the developers that SpitFire has in-place to develop for him while he is gone, to release an unofficial version, don't you believe that is a disgrace to SpitFire's opinions? His trust?

i dont really need to divulge much details but the soonest spitfire will personally deal with the mod is towards next year,at this point of time some porting and minor bug tweaks and probably small content additions will still be done.
as i am not good i might take some time, but right now the priority is to update all API dependencies which the mod used to work with e.g,BuildCraft,RailCraft,IndustrialCraft and the like.
I have experience working personally with SpitFire on this mod and would be more than happy to help. I see that you have access to the repo because of your fork, if you check the commits, you will see me there. I've experience with the code base and I am the coder that has created the bukkit port. If you want/would let me, I would like to work with you on this as I did with SpitFire.
