anyone else notice the 37 diamond swords?

Well at least we now know he used SOME program.
It still doesn't prove it's not a chunk error, but I still stick to my own opinion.:Pig:
But yeah, I understand this is possible without editing.

Lava falling into water destroys the water without forming cobblestone except at the base of the flow, so this is entirely possible.
    Try it yourselves.

But the flow of the water should make it cobble, right?

No. Falling lava never turns into cobble, only lava that's spreading out. I've seen this happen myself at least once, and this fact completely sunk my attempt at self-healing walls.

posted a message on Hell. Is there a point?
I use it to create remote colonies.

The first time I went into the Nether out of my base I built before halloween, walked a huge distance, built a portal, went through and found myself in the middle of a snowy forested mountain range I instantly fell in love with this update.

Well i just checked it out and it seems to just be another entrance going to the same portal in the nether so i might end up just mining it for the obsidian ^^

    That's what I did.

I found one that randomly spawned on the roof of my house It was grassed over to grow trees and a portal randomly spawned there. I have no clue how but I swear it happened.

It is a place of many names. A land where few dare to trod. To the zombies, it is The Core. The skeltons bestow it with the grim appelation of The Nether. The spiders, those grim beasts, name it the Nexus. Even the creepers, fearsome guardians of the night look on it with fear, and know it as the Deep. The slimes of the deep mines, with their horrid voices call it Wooby Dooby Land. Its gargantuan gaurdians, the ghasts, know it only as the Slip; and its denizens, the Pigmen, call their home The Ways. But here, in the overworld, the eldritch world goes by a single name.

Breakfast heartily, men, for tonight we mine in Hell!

    It is 1 hell block = 16 normal blocks (1 chunk) .......
    Read the facts thread kthnxbye

I know that, I just wanted to see it in action so I could get a feel for it.

Case in point: Ghasts are 4x4x4. That doesn't sound like much in number form. PC Gamer video, OMG FLYING DEATH WHALES.

What I really wonder is, how many of the materials are affected by their bombs?

I'm pretty disappointed at the reviews not trying to go in depth or anything like that. All the videos really did was to show that the reviewers were probably playing Minecraft for the first time and didn't really sit down and think about what they needed to do for the reviews. They didn't really seem to answer any relevant questions.

That really bugged me. I mean, they didn't even build another portal to give us some context for how much of a difference the fast travel makes. OTOH, they did show us ghasts in combat for the first time, and I'm pretty scared now.

As for Hell being easier, I'd say what it will probably be is that ghasts will make it hard as hell to build a base, but once you've got a base built you'll be essentially playing on peaceful.

Could everyone just stop posting in this thread? Wintermuet will never convince anybody he's right, nobody will ever convince him he's wrong, we've been doing the same dance for 9 damn pages now, if we want this to stop then we should just stop feeding the troll.

posted a message on Post your hell gate room here :P

Minimalist but effective. The fenced off area is an observation gallery, the windows go into the control room, which may (if I ever feel like it) contain a button to drop a metric ****ton-o-gravel into the room in the event that it is overrun by ghasts.

It would be great if you could, especially considering that HE NEVER SAID SUCH A THING.

posted a message on BATS?!?! Seriously?
I'm partial to the idea that they're peaceful unless aggroed, by attacking or mining nearbye. Mining aggroing them would be cool, maybe have algorithms so that they're more likely to roost near exposed ore?
