Nitpick: Los Angeles /= Las Vegas

Otherwise I mostly agree with the grumbling. I live in Reno and could have easily driven 8 hours or flown for 45 minutes, but I had zero interest in being surrounded by mostly squealing children for 3 days. I love the game, but not enough to subject myself to that.

Yeah, 3 entities is the smallest I've seen as well, though in my case it was 2 buildings and a well rather than your building/well/field combo.

posted a message on Pixel acceleration
I can barely understand what you wrote, but if my suspicions are correct, this *might* help you:

    http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_xp-hardware/how-do-i-get-pixel-acceleration-to-play-online/d7f4b821-d2a4-42b6-8b1f-39e0651097b2

" "My son is trying to play the game minecraft but everytime we try to download we get an error message that says we need pixel acceleration. How do we go about getting this so the game will play?"

You probably need to update the drivers for your video card. If you have a "brand name" computer (HP, Dell, Lenovo, etc.) go to the computer manufacturer's web site and find the video drivers for your particular computer there. Many of the larger computer mfrs have an "auto detect" option to determine what hardware you have. Otherwise, you'll have to enter a specific model number or a Dell "service tag."

Otherwise, open Device Manager (Start > right click My Computer > Properties > Hardware > Device Manager) and click on the + next to "Display adapters." The make and model of you display adapter will be shown. Go to the website of the display adapter's manufacturer and download the appropriate driver for your model and operating system."

You need some attack ads against the individual hostile mobs. Also, in real non-attack ads candidates have those inane "real people" spots. I think having the Squidward people standing there looking dumb and mute would be pretty damn funny, though it'd likely go over the heads of non-Minecraftians. And don't forget the animal mobs. They deserve some love too.

posted a message on will price increase?
I was about to say it will go up in price, but having just checked the official website it seems it already did. When did it go up to $21.95 usd, anyone know? I bought during alpha and I think the price went up during beta, but this is higher than I thought it'd be.

WHY WONT YOU LOOK AT MY POSTS I SAID A FEW MODS THAT CAN WORK WITH THIS MOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Scream and wail some more, modders *love* that.

I had to go fishing to see what you were talking about and all I found were 2 posts you made all the way back on November 2nd, on page 14 of 52 (based on the 40 posts-per-page option in the Forum Settings).

Here's what I found (don't know if there were others, the search function didn't seem to think so):

"I love the mod but you should add like a vulture that appers in a desert and it tells and evil person to come (just to make the mod more interesting you can put a folder that says optional and put that in) *I Want Vultures* :SSSS: :SSSS: :SSSS: :SSSS: *And That Is All* :DORE: :DORE: :DORE: :DORE: :DORE: :DORE: :DORE: :DORE: :DORE: :DORE: :DORE: :DORE: :DORE: :DORE: :DORE: :DORE: :DORE: :DORE: :DORE: :DORE: :DORE: :DORE: :DORE: :DORE: :biggrin.gif: i know what im doing tonight And also when ever i go off then get back on there is always someone that is in a wall i dont know if that is a bug or not but i hate having to hear him"

    and

"i want items in the chests and a horse car thing (remember the optional folder)"

Which is odd. I dug my 2x2 pool, surrounded with yellows and reds and mushrooms and grasses in various combos per the picture in the OP, got squat. It wasn't until I tried having grass under the water that it finally worked for me. Oh well, I'm in the forest now. :smile.gif:

    Is anyone elses not working?
By that I mean minecraft works but then when I complete my portal and throw the diamond in....nothing happens

I was just having that problem too... and I figured out the issue: When making your 2x2 pool, the 4 blocks at the bottom also need to be grassy rather than plain dirt. Once they're all green, then you can fill with water, surround with plants, and toss in your diamond to activate the portal.

posted a message on [1.4.7] Huge Trees are Huge v2.3.2
To give a clearer picture of what Wrsford has added when he says he added roots, I loaded up SPC to remove the land around a 4x4 tree and you can see just how impressive they are (I left floating ores to give reference points). Nice work. :biggrin.gif:

In a future version, perhaps allow users to customize the natural spawn frequency of these trees. Also, something to watch out for is the map height limit. If you've coded the trees to have a set height, then if there isn't already there ought to be code to prevent them from spawning above a certain elevation to avoid arboreal decapitation. I should note that Notch has or will make it easier to change the default map height limit, but the default remains at 128 blocks. The potential future of this mod looks very good if there's the ability to more easily make taller maps and custom trees to go in them. Spells and pistons and dimensions are all well and good, but the heart of Minecraft is the generated world itself. Your mod and others touching on similar aspects help enrich that world.

(Question: How do I add something inside a "spoiler" box? I was going to do that to the image above but since I didn't know how, I simply went ahead and posted a reduced image.)

posted a message on Communist Feeling Servers & Their Admins
*sigh* I wish people would stop abusing words like "communism" and "communist." Words have meaning and you're doing it wrong.

As an admin/mod having worked (well, volunteered for free) 2 public servers I can tell you right now that depending on the tools they have available to them, OPs have to do this to maintain order when dealing with unknown players. On the first server, our tools were extremely limited and it was all we could do to keep up with unknowns. That server died suddenly and its owner not heard from again, so we started up our current one. We gave ourselves much better tools and went whitelist. We gave unknowns a chance to introduce themselves first before we'd give them preliminary build rights, then upgrade them after an unspecified time based on behavior. As for invisibility, we've never really needed it on this server (since our anti-grief efforts have worked out well) and only recently got it just for fun, but good god it would have been useful on the old non-whitelist server. Would have made it much easier back then to catch griefers in the act of griefing with them thinking no one was watching them.

Sorry, I can't help with the tickets. Good luck and I hope you find what you're looking for. If you fail, don't leave him with nothing, try to find some way that to him makes an honest amends.
