The problem is likely on your end, not his. Obviously you can get on the Internet, so just wait a bit and try again later.

*sigh* Since everyone else is being a ****... to an 11-yr-old girl no less... When you load the game but before you log in there's an "Options" button right above the "Login" button. You can force the game to update to the current "released" version of the game. However, you stated you're trying to get the jungles. They aren't technically available yet as the released game is at build 1.1.0 and the jungles are slated for release in build 1.2.0 what you're looking for are the weekly snapshots, currently build 12w05a. You can go to http://www.minecraftwiki.net/wiki/Pre-releases to get either the client or server version (if you play singleplayer you want the client; you almost certainly don't run a server so don't bother with that one).
If you have any mods to your game, you *absolutely* want to make sure those mods have been updated to whatever build of the game you wish to update to, or else you're going to bork your install and have to start all over. Can be tricky even for savvy players if they use a lot of mods. All it takes is one incompatibility to make the game throw a fit.
And please, next time make sure you post in the appropriate forum for whatever topic or question you're posting about.
Go to the bottom of any forum and you'll see who's browsing nearby, rather than just in an individual thread like this one for example. Consider too that as far as the English-speaking world (does MCF have non-English language forums?) right now it's late night in the US, early morning in the EU, and early evening in Oz but less populated than either.

The rules of this forum dictate that all mods must have the build of the game they are updated for. To wit: Current build is 1.0.0 so any mods updated for that will have [1.0.0] in their title, though currently most have [1.8.1] since most are waiting on ModLoader and MCP to update.
I want to congradulate CATSwithHATS for his pedantry. Also, definitions and usages of words can and do change over time. "Swag" is no longer used in the popular lexicon to mean "stolen" items, its usage is meant ironically to refer to free stuff given as gifts, typically by the hosts of an event or party. Her face said it all, stolen property might have been better than the adverts she was pulling out of that bag...

But you want something for multiplayer, so look in the Bukkit forums for plugins that may give you want you're looking for.
