    A better question is, "Why hadn't the mods locked this thread ages ago?"

    Check the last few pages. You're not the 700th to notice that, others have tried providing alternate links to the last build (which is NOT current since Tyber is taking a break until he can find time and until the API comes out).

    Wrsford is working on it, learn2wait. Also, current minecraft build is 1.2.3 so you'll probably want to move on from 1.2.2 XAlpha... ;)

    And it's your own damn faults for engaging in thread necromancy. This mod has been out of date since beta 1.5_01 as it says in the thread title. Go here where the mod has been picked up by another modder:

    Horse. Beaten dead. You can stop now.

    On-topic: I hope jeb_ and crew can get the official API up and running this coming month. This mod is one of the best around and like a few other modders, this one is pretty much holding off until an API presents itself.

    DRoseDARs- The problem is I don't have it on my computer. At all. Don't really want it. 7Zip has always worked for me before.

    Easily remedied by, erm, downloading it for free from WinRAR's official website. If you don't want it, that's entirely personal preference and not any kind of financial concern or some such (again, all I've suffered is a nag screen). Glad you've figured out the problem now regardless. Cheers.

    WinRAR has a nag screen after its free trial period ends. Otherwise, remains usable as of v4.01. What's the problem?

    It'd be better if you'd follow the Mapping and Modding Section rules:

    You bumped a thread from 9 months ago? *sigh* Try msg'ing the modder, he was active in the middle of last month so it's unlikely he'll see this before it drops again.

    I've been playing around a bit with a world biomes png I found off of Google (sadly, Antarctica got a raw deal in the image so I had to remove the continent; may try adding back in some other time) and applying the existing supported colors of this mod to it. The base image is ~3000 x ~2000 pixels, far too large to be used as a Minecraft world even at the smallest zoom factor, so I have to scale it down by quite a bit for it to be usable. There is certainly has a lot of fantastic potential in-game, but there definitely needs to be a wider selection of base biome colors. I'm very glad you're already aware of the need and have what looks to be a good list going. I had to merge a few biomes in ways I didn't like, so having more options will be a boon. Probably best to wait until at least after 1.2 is out so you can see what Jeb_ has done to biomes besides adding jungles. As far as modded-in biomes from the community, I have no opinion on that other than realistic biomes should get your attention first and preference for color choices. I left the mycelium biome out of my test map completely, though perhaps given the mirroring I can make a pseudo-Antarctica that's nothing but mushrooms to act as a borderland between iterations of the world map.

    "ZOOM
    This sets the scaling factor for the world generation. Minecraft defaults to 4 (1:256). The minimum is 2 (1:64). The maximum is 127, but it isn't recommended to try it."

    Doing some maths here:
    Zoom factor 0 = 1 pixel : 16 meters on a side (256 square meters)
    1 = 1 : 32
    2 = 1 : 64
    ...
    4 = 1 : 256
    ...
    6 = 1 : 1024 m (1.048576 square kilometers)
    ...
    10 = 1 : 16.384 km (~268 sq km)
    ...
    A zoom factor of between 20 and 21 would give you about the same surface area as Earth (510,072,000 sq km). Minecraft has a theoretical maximum surface area of 8 times that of Earth's (4,080,576,000 sq km). A zoom factor of 22 would give you slightly more than that (~4,503,599,627 sq km).
    ...
    127 = 1 : ~8.78 gigaparsecs, so about a third the width of the observable universe (~28 Gpc). Welp, good luck making that map. God is still working out the kinks in his and he's been working on it for around 14 billion years...

    Disclaimer: Entirely possible I did the math wrong, but I'm pretty sure I didn't. Either way, you're dealing with some very huge numbers in very short order as your zoom factor increases.

    Yeah, use GIMP instead. MSPaint is generally bad for anything Minecraft (particularly since it doesn't do transparencies). GIMP is free, open source, and is a much more complete graphics design suite.
