This is a mod? wtf?
I could make this with biome terrain generator in seconds, no mods required.
Or, you could find one of the many times maps have been posted providing this type of environment and just make a backup copy of it. Or, you could accept someone made a simple altered rx.class file that, unlike the BTM, takes only seconds to deal with to produce a simple flat map. I don't know if this qualifies as a mod per se, but whatever it qualifies as it's certainly useful to those who just want a simple on-demand flat grass map.
In earlier versions of Minecraft it was very simple for me to install mods, back when there was a plethora of simple files in the .jar and all you had to do was copy/paste and delete the META-INF file.
At this point, however, when I open my bin folder there are only a handful of .jar files. Am I missing something? if not, how do you install mods at this point?

Nothing has changed, you can still manually install many mods by placing their files into the minecraft.jar file. I have yet to see even ONE mod that touches any of the other jar files in the /bin folder. There are however mods that have dependencies and you'd know that if you read and followed their install instructions ... unless of course you're stupidly trying to install outdated mods.

As I first suspected in your first thread and this spam thread, you ARE a whiny entitled brat. You've been told how to fix this and how to avoid in the future, and yet you continue.
As Seronis pointed out in your main thread for this, I don't think you got Bucyruss' permission to include his mod in your mod package given no one has heard from him since mid-December. Moreover, I'm going to guess that you included THIS version of the mod, which has been outdated since... mid-December. If you have, you've just screwed anyone who downloads your mod package and attempts to use the BTM included in there from this thread. R-T-B has picked up in another thread where Bucyruss stopped in this thread; he's trying to keep the mod going and updated. Permission to distribute the mod in this case might be a little tricky given it's originally Bucyruss' mod but R-T-B has added to and modified it. I leave it to the two of you to figure out whether adding R-T-B's continued BTM to your mod package is appropriate.
Bucyruss' original mod was a completely derivative work of Minecraft, which he was not legally licensed to modify. It wasn't a 3rd party standalone plugin. It was a bunch of modified class files that weren't his to begin with. Thus, he has no copyright on his mod at all. There is no such thing as "appropriate usage" of a rogue program. (A super useful, smexy rogue program, yes, but still...)

Then learn2backup: If you've altered your minecraft.jar in any way, make a backup copy of it and set it aside with an obvious name so you know what that backup is. Then, delete the version file in the same folder as your minecraft.jar and its backup. Load the game and it will automatically redownload a clean copy of the minecraft.jar file. You can pull the default textures out of there and using whatever graphics program you prefer (it must be able to handle transparencies; MSPaint doesn't) you can transfer whatever icons you like from the default textures into whatever 16x16 texture pack you like. I use Painterly as well and have done similar things a few times. Seriously, in the time it took me to type this, I could have already been done, it really doesn't take long at all.

C) Stating Piejamas' post another way, most texture packs have install instructions provided.
Ok so basically I installed a custom paintlery pack and I changed some things like the ghasts and armor to soemthing from another texture pack. But i dislike the music discs and a few symbles and the glass in this texture and want to have a copy of the default texture pack and get those things from there. So where is the default texture pack locked i looked in appdata and it wasnt there but everything else was, No i dont want to reinstall anything I'd rather you just make it a zip and upload it so i can download it instead of be waisting hours of work, having you spend like 3 to 4 minutes just freaking uploading a file :sleep.gif: so dont suggest i download anything
Whiny and demanding posts do not endear you to anyone. I WAS going tell you how to fix this and avoid it in the future, but then I got to the last sentence of your post. Sad thing is, it takes less time to fix this yourself than it took you to act like an entitled little brat.
Quick note for anyone who has been banging their head onto a desk everytime someone bumps the original BTM thread by Bucyruss: Global moderator Basic has locked that thread with a link leading to this one and a message directed at Bucyruss saying that if he comes back and wants that thread reopened, it can be done on his request. There may still be people who will download that final Bucyruss version without reading anything first and come here posting problems with it. I'll pm Basic and see if he could adjust the OP to include a clear warning about that version being outdated.

If you used the versions in the CORRECT thread where the mod is being still being updated and where you have posted several times before already, then maybe you'll find help there in the CORRECT thread.

Word of the warning: Read through the thread carefully, particularly late pages, before just diving into using anything you find there. The mod is likely very outdated, but there might be some updates independently posted.
I'd like to thank everyone who helped clear up whether or not the map generator can be used to auto-generate maps for singleplayer games (and by extension, be able to use BTM as well in that). I've not done it yet (been busy) but it looks like it should be easy and straight forward, plus others have claimed success so I'll take them at their word. This makes me very happy. Thank you again. :smile.gif:
I want to congradulate CATSwithHATS for his pedantry. Also, definitions and usages of words can and do change over time. "Swag" is no longer used in the popular lexicon to mean "stolen" items, its usage is meant ironically to refer to free stuff given as gifts, typically by the hosts of an event or party.
