posted a message on Parkour commands

Recently I've been trying to repair a parkour course that I built from a minecraft server so that it will function with working checkpoints, timers etc. in a vanilla world. I haven't worked on commands for years and it's a hell of a lot more advanced than it used to be and there's a few things I wanted to try to make it easier. So far I have working checkpoints, timing system and a way for fall damage to be prevented, however I was hoping there was a way to add a few more things to it.

I know I've seen it in YouTube videos of maps before where you are given a held item (whether it be a book, fishing rod or whatever) and when you right clicked it, it would then teleport you to a certain location. I want something like this for the parkour, so that if the player falls, they can just use it to be instantly teleported back to the checkpoint.

I also wanted to know if there's a way to make the player face in a particular direction when using the checkpoint (at the moment I'm just using pressure plates and a command block that does /spawnpoint) and for most of them it spawns me facing in the wrong direction. Is there anyway to fix this?

    Thanks for the help.

Would be fun if it didn't crash every single time that i encountered him, does anyone have links to an old download to this mod because they seem to work fine from what i'm reading. Also the 1.8 re-release isn't any good either because he never once made an appearance.

posted a message on My Seeds

Hello Random Person of the world who plays Minecraft, I'm DJHitchcock and I am here to share you my seed reviews. Below you will find several YouTube clips with a seed review. I have got several seeds lined up to record or have been recorded or published on my channel. I am not asking for subscribers (although it is appreciated) because I just want to share some really good seeds for Minecraft. So I will list the videos by seed and give a brief description of what's in the seed and link the forum thread with the co-ordinates for the seed (If not they're in the video description) anyways I hope you enjoy the seed reviews and like the seeds that I have found.

    SERIES TO COME

A series that I am going to start soon is a 5-minute seed exploring. Where I randomly load up a Minecraft world and see what I can find in the first 5 minutes of exploring the world. I did a 2-minute seed series which lasted 2 episodes way back in November of 2013 which had no audio. I am bringing back the series now that I have a microphone and I'm able to start a series of seed exploring.

Thanks for reading if you want to, I'm not forcing you to, subscribe to the channel and I'll continue making more videos in the future. I will keep this list updated with all of my seed reviews if not the more recent reviews until I run out of decent seeds.

    Quote from TheMasterCaver»

There have been no changes to the frequency of dungeons since 1.7* so everything I said about 1.11 still applies.

*Of interest, if you look at the Wiki's page for dungeons you''ll see this:

Which is actually not true at all; in fact those changes to caves, which made cave systems smaller but more common, may have had the opposite effect since many cave systems in 1.6.4 are far too dense in their interiors for dungeons to generate (they require a certain amount of exposed blocks along the sides; in my experience they are mostly found near the outer edges of cave systems). The real reason why they are less common is because they changed their altitude range from 128 to 256 (presumably since terrain could now exceed y=128), halving the density and the number of dungeons per length of cave (conversely, in my "triple height terrain" mod, with sea level at y=191, I increased their range from 128 to 192 and count from 8 to 12, keeping their density the same and increasing the number per chunk by about 3-fold). A decrease in mineshafts accounts for the remaining 10% or so decrease (less air spaces underground) - and the Wiki makes no mention of that anywhere, they even still use the pre-1.7 chance (0.01 vs 0.004) in their Superflat preset code.

Also, the reason why the locations of some dungeons may be different in different versions is due to slight changes to other features, as well as chest loot, since a single random number generator is used to generate all small features, including dungeons, as well as determine things like chest content (since 1.9 the random seed that determines what loot will generate when it is opened; since mineshafts and other large structures generate before dungeons this means that the RNG sequence was altered wherever one generated). The direction you travel in can also cause differences in chunk population.

So I spend 40+ hours working on finding the dungeons in 1.8, finding them again in 1.9 for a lecture about how dungeons aren't that rare yet no one seems to have posted a seed with anywhere near as much listed dungeons as I have?

posted a message on Over 500 Dungeons within 8000 Blocks of Spawn!!! 530+ Co-Ordinates
    Quote from TheMasterCaver»

Dungeons are commonly perceived to be a very rare find but they are actually very common, even more than suggested here; in a recent analysis of a 1.11 world I found 28 dungeons in 3,043 chunks, or one dungeon every 108.6 chunks, which means that there are around 7,227 dungeons within an 8,000 block circular radius around spawn (785,398 chunks). Also, the total number of mob spawners is even higher since an average of one abandoned mineshaft generates every 250 chunks (a 0.4% chance of generating per chunk) and an analysis of 30 mineshafts by themselves found 60 cave spider spawners, for an additional 6,283 spawners and a total of around 13,510.

And they were even more common in versions prior to 1.7, which reduced the frequency of dungeons by more than 50% and mineshafts by 60%; a 1.6.4 world had one dungeon every 50.6 chunks for around 15,529 within 8,000 blocks of spawn, plus 15,708 cave spider spawners for a total of around 31,237.

The numbers for dungeons are also slightly lower than they would be overall since I only looked at the area around the origin, where mineshafts are less common (declining from 100% at 80 chunks or more to 0% at the origin), so dungeons would be more common further away due to there being more valid spawn locations (air blocks underground); a different analysis of a 1.6.4 world far from the origin found an average of one spawner (all types) every 23 chunks, compared to 25 for the above calculations, the difference being due to more dungeons.

(based on the 1.6.4 values and the area I've explored in my own world, and what MCEdit found left after I deleted all chunks without torches (not explored) I've found more than 1,000 dungeons and 2,000 spawners (I destroy all of them since they are not useful to me), with only a couple hundred left out of around 2,300 expected in 57,990 chunks. Just the last time I played I found 6 more dungeons, including a double dungeon, and a mineshaft (not explored yet); as I've often said, you just need to do some caving to find them)

    Um this is 1.8 ;)

This seed spawns you into the world looking directly at a Mesa with a Village behind you, there is 9 Villages, 9 Ocean Monuments, 10 Desert Temples, 3 Strongholds, 268 Zombie Dungeons, 126 Skeleton Dungeons, and 110 Spider Dungeons all less than 8000 blocks away from spawn.

The seed is NearlyMaBirthday or -2079592986 and works in any Minecraft Version after 1.8.9 HOWEVER the co ordinates of some dungeons may or may not work, in the later versions, each co ordinates is roughly accurate for Minecraft version 1.8.9 and most of them should work for more recent versions. The co ordinates of Villages, Temples, Monuments and possibly strongholds will stay the same throughout each version but some dungeons may or may not be in the same location. I guarantee that there is easily 500 dungeons within 8000 blocks of spawn in the recent updates though as they either generate in other locations or in the same locations.

    Video:

I will be uploading videos with more seed reviews and won't make threads for all the seeds I find. It was important for this seed to have a thread because of the amount of co ordinates there are and the fact that it would be hard to keep a YouTube description tidy with the amount of co-ordinates there are.

posted a message on Pixelmon Mansion Beta

    Introduction and Information

Pixelmon Mansion is a Pokemon based adventure map where you progress through several pokemon-type themed rooms and trainers to unlock all parts of the Mansion. This Mansion is set with all Gen 1 Pokemon split into rooms of up to three different types with matching trainers to unlock other rooms. Each Pokemon type room has 2 floors, one for spawning up to 15 Pokemon at one time (so far) and one with a PokeCenter and PokeMart clerk and statues of each pokemon that can be found in the floor below. The rooms are 50*25 blocks big providing plenty of room for wild Pokemon to walk without getting in the way of your training. Each Pokemon has a different set rarity level meaning you are more likely going to find a rattata spawn than a ditto. Each room is set with level caps making it easier to train Pokemon without them all being insanely op whilst you're using a Charmander with scratch. The first room starts with Level 2-20, followed by 10-30, 15-35 etc. On the opposite side of the main hallway in the mansion you will find the trainers, each trainer has Pokemon usually within 5 levels of each other to make a fair and uncomplicated battle. There is three trainers which can be battle once every Minecraft day (20 minutes) and the Final boss trainer (me) which can only be beaten once per player in the world. The boss trainer will have slightly higher leveled pokemon and when you beat them you will be given some money, a few rewards for your pixelmon, and a badge to unlock the next type area. There is 7 different rooms based on types, and an eighth room for any Pokemon I may have completely forgot about or saved for a stronger level. Once you have beaten the boss trainer in the eighth room you will receive an evolution stone for each of the legendary birds, an orb and a master ball, HOWEVER you only get one orb limiting you to making the tough decision of which bird to pick. The ninth room has a shrine for each of the Legendary birds and cloning machines for when you possibly encounter mew later on. Once you have beaten the boss trainer you will unlock the Pixelmon Garden. This spawns every single Pokemon (excluding MewTwo) from the Generation 1 line up between level 5 and 85. At the moment this is the only way to possibly find mew but it has a really low spawn rate.

How to get the map working:

    1. First of all you will need Pixelmon version 4.3.0 Beta 5 and Forge to set up pixelmon.

    2. Once you have Pixelmon started download the Pixelmon Mansion zip file from the link below ↓↓↓

    3. Once it has downloaded which should only take a few seconds you'll need to search "run" in your computers search bar

    4. A small program will open down the bottom left of your screen where you will need to type in %appdata% then click OK.

    5. This should take you to a file explorer where you should find a folder called .minecraft

    6. Open this folder and there should be another folder called saves

    7. From the downloaded zip file there should be a folder called Pixelmon Mansion Beta copy this whole folder into the saves folder inside .minecraft

    8. Next you'll need to copy the custom config file for the Pixelmon mod that is in the zipped folder, This should be called pixelmon.hocon copy this file into the config folder found in .minecraft which is created when mods are loaded for the first time.

    9. Load up your minecraft launcher with a forge profile and pixelmon and if everything was done right you should be able to find the Pixelmon Mansion World where you can start playing.

    Downloads:

Downloads required for this map include forge, the map and pixelmon 4.3.0 Beta 5, Here are the links

    Forge 1.8.9: https://files.minecraftforge.net/maven/net/minecraftforge/forge/index_1.8.9.html

    Pixelmon: http://mirror.pixelmonmod.com/core/4.3.0-B9/

    The Map: https://www.dropbox.com/s/ygyysvao0q8eaij/Pixelmon Mansion Beta.zip?dl=0

    What the downloads include:

Forge: The forge installer which is required to run mods in minecraft, tutorials to get forge to work can easily be found with Google, YouTube or on this Forum

    Pixelmon: The Pixelmon Mod itself.

The Map: The save file for the minecraft map which needs to be moved to the saves folder (see above) and the custom Pixelmon config file which is changed to makes sure only gen 1 pokemon spawn and only gen 1 pokemon can be used as the starter.

    Screenshots:

    (1) Example of one of the pokemon rooms (fire, poison, ghost), (2) Example of one of the trainer rooms, (3) Example of the second floor of a Pokemon room (fire, ghost, poison), (4) Pixelmon Gardens which is unlocked after beating all of the trainers in the game so far.

Things to be added in the near future:

    • Stronger and higher leveled trainers at the back of Pixelmon Mansion.

    Other Information:

If there is anything wrong with the map like trainer errors or constant crashes please comment what happened and I will try to fix that as soon as possible. So far a lot of bosses spawn which means making money is slightly easier for the player so the prize money from trainers are low. Shinies are really common in the map I have found 7 in little under 24 hours working on the map. Sometimes the NPC trainers appear to have despawned, this is just a visual glitch, they will appear if you reload the map or chunks, They can still be battled by throwing a Pokemon at them even if they don't appear to exist. This map is a beta release for me to gather feedback about whether amount of pokemon that spawn are too low or if the whole thing in general is too easy so don't expect a master piece of a map. If you want to make a YouTube lets play of the beta version of this map feel free to post a link in the comments.

Hope you enjoy the map and please give feedback about the map, what can be improved or what is always perfect and I will be working on the promised features in the next week or two.

    UPDATED CONTENT:

The Pixelmon Mansion now has a roof and actic area where there is a bunch of things that are useful to the player.

Interior looks a lot better than before

    Thanks for reading and/or downloding

posted a message on Need help with my modded worlds.

Every time I try to play a modded world there is so many problems with it sometimes there's chunks that don't appear, sometimes the world just completely deletes itself from existence and other times I get the message shown in this picture:

Can someone please tell me what this means and how I can continue playing in my world!

    Thanks
