Sorry for all of you who aren't able to get it running, I don't have a solid solution, but I figured I would post exactly what I did to install it. No telling if it'll work for you, in all likelihood you may have already done everything and it's something else going on, but here goes:
For people who had it working and now it isn't, sorry I have no clue there.
(Running Windows Vista 64)
Before I started, I dragged my world save file out to keep it safe, and otherwise totally deleted the contents of my .minecraft file, and then went and got a fresh 1.2.4 install from minecraft.net via the login screen (I tried first just deleting the .jar but I kept getting the error about the version so I emptied the .minecraft and it worked.)
1. I downloaded the file from the original post.
2. Then I opened it with Winrar.
3. Took the file inside and dragged it to my desktop.
4. Double clicked it to view it's contents.
5. Found the AdventureCraft exe, double clicked that (Ran as administrator, stupid Vista).
6. It took me to the Adventurecraft thing where Cryect puts the update notes etc.
7. I believe there were 2 buttons at the bottom, one said "Install" and the other said "Install via Login"? something like that. Regardless, I clicked the one that asks for your minecraft name and password.
8. Entered name and password, hit enter, and it installed successfully.
9. The buttons at the bottom changed to say "Start", which took me to the game.
The problems I was running into, it kept saying the version wasn't right and it also said something about my .jar being wrong. I just went defcon 5 on my .minecraft and got the fresh install and it seemed to work. I also had issues running it from within Winrar for some reason, but it all worked fine once the entire file was on my desktop. Sorry if that doesn't get it going for you, but I know how frustrating that can be so figured I'd give it a shot.

This sight right here is why 5 yr olds shouldn't play Minecraft or browse forums. READ GUYS FOR FOUR SIX! (For **** Sakes)...
You must be completely insane if you think that he's gonna update to 1.2.4 already, when he just upped this one! Alot of your mods will take a while before they are updated. And alot of people will not update to 1.2.4 right now, so i say thanks for the 1.2.3 upload!
