Sep 13, 2014You should always be careful when you are switching versions and loading worlds. I would recommend creating backups regularly and before doing any major work in a world, or swithing between versions, like you were doing, especially when downgrading.Posted in: Survival Mode
Sep 13, 2014Just a heads up... if you want someone to come check out your series, putting a post on the forums telling everyone to do so is not the way to go about it. This usually has the opposite effect, in fact. It also doesn't help that you have next to no posts and one thread on the forums. If you want viewers, do something to catch their attention, then keep it.Posted in: Survival Mode
Proper grammar also helps... a ton.
Sep 13, 2014I've also had problems with slime spawning, similar to yours. Like I said in a different post, hopefully 1.8.1 fixes some of these issues, but until then you should try making the hole deeper, adding more spawning pads, and lighting up the caves around it. If you're desperate for slime balls, you could always go to a swamp and kill slimes there (just remember that slimes spawn most often on a full moon and never on a new moon).Posted in: Survival Mode
Sep 13, 2014My blaze farm also seems to be broken, although not because they are not spawning, but because of something to do with the activator rails not working. Snapshots and new releases are known to be buggy, so hopefully there will be a 1.8.1 to fix these bugs. We can only hope...Posted in: Survival Mode
Jul 2, 2014Before 1.6 (was 1.6 the one with the beacons? I can't remember), I would always just go caving, and usually to light things up for my mob farms. Now, however, I like to "speed mine". "Speed mining," aptly named by Etho because of the sheer amount of blocks it is possible to destroy in a short amount of time, is when you have a beacon at a low level (usually around diamond level) and then use an Efficiency V diamond pickaxe to mine stone blocks instantly (a bit like breaking netherrack with a good pickaxe). With this method, you can rack up a good amount of everything in a very short amount of time, and the sound of that stone breaking is second to none. :3Posted in: Survival Mode

Are we talking about the same Minecraft? It's impossible to place blocks inside of an active Nether portal. Water, yes. Lava, yes. Blocks? No. Not even trying to push a block through with a piston will break the portal blocks.
Jul 2, 2014This is really an interesting idea, I must say. I think I might just watch it for a while and see how it turns out. Are you going to keep a list of everyone the world gets passed to (You -> Person #1 -> Person #2 -> Person #3, etc)? Just a thought. Again, love the idea!Posted in: Survival Mode
Jun 4, 2014If you close out your Minecraft, those chunks will always unload, no matter where they are (unless you play on a server where your iron farm is built in the spawn chunks, then I *think* those chunks will always be loaded. I could be wrong, though, don't quote me on that.Posted in: Survival Mode
Jun 4, 2014Posted in: Survival ModeQuote from Kabiswell a chunk is a 16x16 area of blocks.
You can push F3 and determine which chunk you're in and also find the chunk boundaries.
Now, to find which chunk is actually the slime chunk, you can either do trial and error: fill in some chunks and see if Slimes still spawn, or you can use a chunk finder.
Just put in your seed and find out which chunks are slime chunks.
Remember though: Slime chunks only go up to level 39 (inclusive), and Giant Slimes require a 3x3x3 volume to spawn.
Couldn't have said it better myself. One thing to add: if you don't want slimes at all, you could always half slab the entire chunk (torches won't work, because slimes spawn in any light level).
Jun 4, 2014The first time I ever saw a jockey (it was a spider jockey, just after they were released), I was playing on a server with my friends, and I had no idea why a skeleton looked like he was riding a spider. I know now.Posted in: Survival Mode
Jun 4, 2014Posted in: Survival ModeQuote from zollie20I can't remember many that i've had, but off the top of my head..
"Excavating" - Diamond shovel
"Aegis", "BOOM! Headshot", - Bows
"Massacre", "Unsheathed" "Temnota"(means darkness) - Diamond Swords
"Pantaloons" - most leg armour
"Hobnails" - boots
"Fishbowl" - aqua affinity + respiration diamond helm
"Mountainbane" - Diamond pick(eff 5)
They all sound pretty lame now, but eh... goodluck finding a name.
You call your bows "Aegis" too? I've always thought I made that up, but I guess not. Where is that name from?
Jun 4, 2014DCoded posted a message on We were all noobs once. What is your minecraft noob story?Unfortunately (maybe it's unfortunate, I'm not sure I'dlike being called a noob), I researched everything about this game before I played instead of diving head-first into it. I guess this deprived me of the whole "noob" thing, but I personally would rather start off an expert at something than a noob.Posted in: Survival Mode
