I'm usually opposed to boss mobs, but this would be a good way to implement a boss-like challenge. It's kind of like a more complicated dungeon. Sounds fun.

Okay okay, skeletons will not be affected by said block, happy?

Skeletons aren't much a hassle anyway, but I will make them not attracted if that reduces overpoweredness.

Thank you, though it doesn't change much. I have stated all the reasons I think this idea should be reworked, (multiple times, due to very stupid arguments,) but nonetheless do think this is a good idea. I will not post in this thread again.

I, for one, do not think that ingots should only stack up to 8.
Where the hell did you get the idea that I said ingots should only stack up to 8? I haven't stated that once in my entire post... Quote me... :dry.gif:

I'm sorry, I meant ore blocks. My bad.

In any case, the so called "inventory management" is tedious, and having ore drop nuggets is still a pointless complication to a system that's so very simple. I see your point with redstone, but the reason for that is that redstone dust is usable per item, not per stack like your nuggets idea. Having redstone drop one dust item per ore would make redstone creations nigh impossible without cheating. And no, most blocks do not drop <1 when broken. The only other example I can think of off the top of my head is Glowstone - It drops multiple because the Halloween Update was supposed to make torches extinguish after a certain amount of time, making glowstone the only everlasting light source. Notch saw it fit to make it harder to get, which is why you have to mine 2-3 glowstone blocks per one glowstone you get. Glowstone dust was also supposedly going to be used in lanterns. Clay drops multiples too, but that's obviously to make bricks harder to get and slightly realistic, since obviously you can't collect natural bricks or cook a block of clay and get a brick wall. (Crops don't count, they aren't blocks, nor do they drop multiple of the same item.)

Also, the argument "It doesn't feel right to get one block back" doesn't apply in a game where you can punch a tree and get a section of it. Or do you think that trees should just drop logs?

What now. I love proving people wrong with logic. :wink.gif: Oh, by the way, thank you for telling me why my idea makes mining more tedious. :wink.gif: It makes my job of proving you wrong, easier. :cool.gif:

You just literally just proved how much useless complication you are attempting to add to a simple system. Adding in more and less than usual ingots adds tedium and complication, both of which you proved via "proving" your own point. I, for one, do not think that ingots should only stack up to 8.

EDIT: Also, with the overadbundance of ore in 1.8.1, why on earth would you want to make it easier to get ore?

posted a message on Patch 1.10
It depends. If 1.9 is going to be the final release, yes. If 1.10 will be the final release, no.

To all in this thread who don't understand - If you bought the game in Beta, I.E. after multiplayer was added, you WILL have to pay after the final release. After the final release, there will most likely be no more "updates," only large updates classified as DLC. If you bought during beta, and want that content, you will be paying for it. You will not, however, have to pay for patches and bug fixes, etc. If you bought during Alpha(A good bookmark is the Halloween update, which happened in late Alpha), then you will not have to pay for those large DLC packages.

Why? Did you read my whole post? All I'm essentially requesting is that you get a bunch of nuggets instead of an ore block, when you mine an ore block.

Also, why not be productive and tell me why it makes mining more tedious...

The fact that you can get less than normal means you'll have to mine more, and the fact that you can get more means that you'll either have to count out the nuggets to see how many ingots you have, or risk wasting coal. You're adding unneeded complications to a simple system. Minecraft doesn't need to be realistic.

    Quote from AndrewJohn1995

    Okay if you didn't read:

Actually attracted to the block and deal damage to the block:
    - Wolves
    - Zombies
    - Spiders

Think of block as a normal block:
    - Endermen (randomly pick it up)
    - Creeper (they will hang around it but not be lured away if they have their eyes set on a human)
    - Skeleton probably (if it sees it first it will shoot at it)

You mean this one? He has said both here and in the OP that skeletons will attack the block if not preoccupied. This is a stupid argument.

Skeles don't give any cares about rotten flesh. Only spiders and zombies. Although it would get a skele to go away if he was on a spider.

Earlier in the thread it was stated that Skeletons would indeed shoot at the block, as long as they weren't shooting at you already.

posted a message on Ground-Pound and Switches
I'm sorry, but this is a stupid idea. Minecraft does not need different attacks. This is not Mario, or Morrowind, or even an action game for that matter. And the fact that the ground pound idea is stupid renders your idea for a ground pound switch pointless.
